Chapter 54

Danny’s POV
“You have unleashed the monster” Dad laughs as Mum and Claudia set off to the castle with Sophia. Tracey, Yolanda and Denise in the car behind them; followed by Lorraine, Chelsea and Gemma. Gemma had decided to leave the River Moon Pack, to be with Chelsea.
“She will be Oliver’s problem for the next few days. I hope you warned him about Mum’s obsessive design behaviour” I say to him. “Why spoil the surprise” Dad answers; giving me a smirk. “Let’s help get some of the larger items into the moving vans” I tell him.
“Alpha Daniel and Alpha Henry; I’m glad you’re here. I may be strong but in my condition; I can’t lift these fridges and put them in the moving vans. Doctor Elliot’s orders” Cynthia proclaims as we come into the kitchen. “Don’t worry, Cyndy. We’ll get things moved out, before you know it” Dad smiles at her.
“Seriously Tim; you need to wrap the crockery like this. They will break if you wrap them, all willy-nilly” Joslyn huffs at him. “Let me do it; you go help Danny move the fridges and I hope you played Tetris as a child because you will need the skills to pack the moving vans” she concludes shooing Tim away with her hands.
“Henry; I have Raymond and Alan ready to move out in the first 2 trucks. Xander and Barney will be parking up next” Paul calls out to Dad. “Thank you for your help, Paul” he answers. “I couldn’t let Cyndy take all the responsibility. She’s carrying my grandpups and it’s a lot of work to move a pack” he tells us. “Dad; I’ve told you once and I will tell you a million times more. I’m pregnant; not disabled” Cynthia screams at Paul; “Yeah, yeah. You are like your mother, always wanting to do more than you should” he sneers back at her as she rolls her eyes at him.
“Tim, grab the other end of this refrigerator” I call out to him. “I have a trolley; it will make it a lot easier to move the bigger items” Jason yells across the room. “Great; Tim, get the trolley and help me move the fridge” I correct myself, smirking at Tim; who sighs and moves to retrieve the trolley.
“I have a few ideas on how to safeguard the territory. Something Todd and I were doing when we were pups; but more advanced. It was something he wanted to see if it worked on you but Dad caught wind of it and pulled it down” Tim announces as I growl at him. “It was never going to hurt you; hide a net in the grass and as you walk over it; it catches you and raises you into the trees. We can have a few of them through the trees here” he tells me.
I glare at him. I know he means well by telling me, but it still hurts they had planned to trick me into getting caught by a net. Thank goddess for Simon.
“We will talk about the safety measures after everyone has left the territory” Dad says, seeing the annoyance on my face. “Thanks for stepping in Dad; I was about to rip him a new asshole” I whisper. “He meant well; he needs to pick what information to give you” he chuckles, carrying a box outside.
“What’s left to take out?” Rick says, coming into the kitchen area. “Anything that’s not nailed down” I tell him. “George and I have finished putting all the hospital beds, and equipment into the trucks that were parked by the hospital. Him, Nurse Peta, Nurse Jennifer and Isabella just left behind the trucks. He said he was going to set up the new hospital wing, Oliver placed in the new packhouse” Rick explains.
“What do you want us to do with the training equipment, Alpha Daniel” Brett asks coming into the kitchen. I take a breath and count to 10. “Everyone; what can go in boxes; place in boxes and pack in the trucks. What can’t; find a space in the trucks for them. We are taking everything. I know the move is temporary. We don’t know exactly how long we are going for and I don’t want anyone thinking they can steel our property while we are gone” I announce to anyone in ear shot.
“That means, mattresses, ovens and whatever else you can move without breaking apart the packhouse” Dad includes. “Does that mean we will have nothing to sleep on when everything goes?” Tim asks. “Oh, my goddess Tim. Have you never roughed it before? You will be sleeping in sleeping bags for a few nights. It won’t kill you. And if all else fails; bring Carter out to sleep” Cynthia exclaims.
“I blame Mum and Dad for loving my luxuries too much” Tim spits back; “Don’t bring me into this princess. You were always the same from the moment you were born. Too scared you would break a nail” Simon chuckles. “You may be good with a bow and arrow or a sword, mate; but you have always hated having to rough it. It didn’t matter if it was 400 years ago or now” Rick includes.
“It must be pick on Tim day” Tim grumbles as he carries a box outside; “Don’t throw that one into the truck either, Tim. It’s marked breakables for a reason” Joslyn screams, running after him as I stop myself from laughing.
We finished packing the kitchen into the trucks as Dad and I watch them pull out of the pack grounds. “How are you coping, Dad?” “I’m holding up. I’m feeling a bit bewildered at the moment; once we get there, I will be fine” he says giving me a half smile. “I know I’ve said this a million times today; it’s only temporary. We will be back soon enough” I tell him.
“I need to look at the bigger picture. We have to stop Michael and Callum, once we do that; I can live my retirement carefree” he smiles. “As carefree as Mum will allow anyhow” I chuckle. “Come on; let’s finish with the rest of the items that need to go” Dad says, heading back inside the packhouse.
“I’ve just gone from room to room; there isn’t anything left up there” Paul says, coming down the last few stairs. “It’s only the dining area left” Jason includes coming out of the dining room; carrying a folded down table. “That’s good; we only have one truck left. Place all the tables and chairs in that one” Cynthia adds, walking back into the packhouse.
“Typical; it’s starting to rain” Tim snarls as he and Simon grab another table each to take out to the truck. **“He’s just as bad as you are”** I smirk at Jesse. **“Correction; he is worse than I am. I have a reason I don’t like snow; he is just a wuss.” “You know it’s snowing at the castle, don’t you?”** I tell him. **“Yes, and I am not looking forward to it”** he grunts, slinking back into my mind.
“That’s the last of the tables and chairs. Thank you everyone for your help in getting the packhouse packed up. We will see you all in a few days” I call out to everyone, as they get into their cars to leave. “Stay safe on the roads and message me as soon as you get there so I know you all got there ok” Dad includes.
“For the rest of us; let’s get settled in the dining room” I tell everyone. “Tim; just for you, I made sure we have camping cots to sleep on and if you snore; I will be smothering you in your sleep” Jason adds, laughing. “Claudia will be sending me to the sanctuary soon” I inform Dad as I get my cot and sleeping bag out of storage room.
“They should almost be there; Jade hasn’t message me yet. I got one about an hour ago saying they are coming up to the Sapphire Moon territory. She no doubt is tormenting Oliver with her designs” Dad chuckles as a message comes on my phone. “They got there ok. It took longer to get from Sapphire Moon; Chelsea had trouble putting her snow chains on and Mum had to show her how to do it” I tell him.
“I taught both Jade and Claudia how to maintain a vehicle. You never know when you may need it” Dad says, setting up his cot. “I want Sophia to learn that stuff as well” I smile, sitting down on my cot.
“Tim; I do agree with you. The nets are a good idea” I tell him. “I have a few other ideas” “We will talk about what to do in the morning. Joslyn has left us a meal in the cooler” Dad says as Rick heads to the cooler. “Yes! She left us some apple pies” he exclaims.
“Let’s get some food and then you can get ready to go see Claudia” Dad says, grabbing a plate for both of us.
