Chapter 91

Simon’s POV
*“Can you see anything?*” Jeremy asks Rick, Brett and myself, through a mind link. *“No; southern border is all clear”* I answer him. *“Same with Northern border”* he says back to me. *“Brett; anything happening?”* I ask him. *“East Border, clear”* he responds.* “Rick?” “They have some training going on at the Western Border. Michael and Callum aren’t with them”* he answers.
*“What are we looking for exactly?”* Brett asks us. *“Anything out of the ordinary. Any new movements; new buildings; anything to give us a clue what they are doing”* I respond to him. *“Why the sudden urgency to know?”* He continues his questions.
*“Let’s meet at the Ron de vu point and we can go over what we found”* I tell them and start heading further south.
**“What can they be planning?”** I ask my wolf, Sebastian. **“Beats me. Michael and Callum are very sly with everything they do. From everything we gathered; they know they can’t face us together”** he responds. **“I know Henry wants to go back to the pack territory. The longer we stay away; the more anxious he gets. Maybe we might be able to go back and check up on it.”**
“It looks like we are both training for a war, neither of us are willing to start” Rick says, coming over to me with Jeremy and Brett. “The only explanation I can see…” I stop speaking as I hear a twig snap behind us.
“It’s Dianna” a voice calls out. “You need to go; there will be a patrol here soon. They thought they heard movement outside the territory. I’m going to tell them I was going for a run” she says to us.
“Let’s go” Brett says, heading away; “tell Henry, they are waiting for you to attack. Make you look like the threat” Dianna explains and I nod my head at her. “That was my assumption. Thank you for confirming it and tell Crystal, she is safe” I tell her and the four of us leave as she shifts to her wolf.
“What was with the ladder and binoculars?” Jeremy asks Rick. “When you have an ability, why not use it. No need to climb a tree when I could get a ladder and I could see further away to tell they were training” Rick chuckles and I roll my eyes at him.
“Leon, we need to get going” I call out to him as he mutters a few words, moving his hands around in a circle, in the air. “Quickly; my portholes don’t last as long as Sariah’s” he tells us as we all run over to him and walk through the porthole into the castle grounds.
“What did you find out?” Todd asks as we get to the castle stairs. “Wait until we get inside” I answer him as we follow him to Oliver’s office. Claudia, Danny, Henry, Sariah, Raquel, Phyliss and Oliver were all waiting for us.
“They are training for a war” Rick starts the explanation. “There are no other movements around the territory” Brett includes. “We saw Dianna, she came to warn us of a patrol coming. She said they are waiting for us to attack. Make us look like a threat” I explain further.
“Explains why they haven’t tried anything yet” Danny responds to me. “Brett, to answer your earlier question. Everyone is getting anxious with not knowing what is happening. We were doing a reconnaissance mission to see what they may be up to” I tell him.
“Can I propose a plan of attack?” Jeremy announces. “Sure, what are you thinking?” Henry asks him.
“We go about our daily lives and you separate. I know you don’t want to because it is safer for everyone. Simon has filled me in. If we are going to check them out; they are most likely checking us out. Let them take one of you. That is hostile and we will be able to attack them” he explains.
“I don’t want them taking any of the ladies. Joanna is pregnant, the others have babies or small children” Danny snaps at him.
“Then the ladies can stay here, and we all go to the mall or where ever. I suggest we go in pairs; if they take one, they have to take the other” Oliver states. “You agree with Jeremy?” I ask him, a little shocked.
“We need to do something; at the moment they are waiting. The morale around here is sombre and driving me nuts. Amelia kicked me to the couch the other night. She said she couldn’t sleep with my tossing and turning” he answers, giving a small chuckle.
“She’s a vampire; she doesn’t sleep” Claudia giggles. “Not like you, we don’t. Call it meditation” Oliver tells her.
“If we do this; you need to still fight and try and get away. I don’t want them taking you without a fight” I enforce to everyone. “Like hell, they will be taking me without a fight” Todd snaps back.
“I don’t like it; but I understand it. Simon, can you and Jeremy do up a roster on who goes with whom. Include Matthew, David and Barnaby. Snow Blossom; I know you are getting cabin fever; but it’s for your own safety; I don’t want the ladies to fight. That includes Sariah, Phyliss and Raquel” Danny says to the ladies in the room.
“We are just as strong as you are. We can kick some ass” Cynthia exclaims. “And you have twins you need to feed and take care of” Danny snaps back at her.
“I propose a different strategy; you men can go in pairs; us ladies can go out together. They won’t try anything with 12 of us. If any of us need to use the bathroom; we all need to use the bathroom. Deal?” Phyliss asks us, looking directly at Danny.
“I can live with that; two is easier than 12 ladies at once. They won’t be ready to take on that many” Danny answers her, narrowing his gaze at her. “Good; mum’s been trying to get out of here as much as I have” Claudia injects.
“I still like your idea of getting Luna Jade to run a ceremony for them” Oliver chuckles, looking at Claudia. “Am I missing something?” Henry asks, a worried look crosses his face. “No; nothing” Claudia giggles as her eyes glaze over and Henry starts laughing. “That may actually work” Henry smirks and the rest of us, except Danny looks at them bewildered.
“I know we are missing something, so I will proceed with plans to ‘get captured.’’ I tell everyone, sarcastically and emphasise get captured with my fingers. “Henry; why don’t we take a trip down to the pack territory for a few days. Check up on it, to make sure the safety measures are still holding out. You were saying you wouldn’t mind checking up on the territory” I tell him.
“We just came back from there” Claudia says with an exaggerated sigh. “That’s a great idea. We did go to the River Moon; sorry; the Cedar River Moon East Pack territory to help them pack. We didn’t go on the West Pack territory. I wouldn’t mind going back to check up on it” Henry proclaims with excitement in his voice.
“I won’t worry about putting a list of names together. If you are to leave the castle territory; make sure you take someone with you. Except the ladies; you will all go together” I tell them.
“Claudia; how are your nightmares going?” Oliver asks her and she looks around the room. “Who told you?” she snaps; looking at Danny. “It wasn’t me” he answers, putting his hands up in front of him, surrendering to her.
She narrows her eyes at Henry; “I was only telling him; you weren’t sleeping very well” he says to her.
“They are fine. I have spoken with Alfie myself and we came to a mutual decision. I don’t like him but know he is dead and he won’t be able to hurt me. I also know he despises his father for what he did and how he tricked him into taking me in the first place” She answers Oliver’s question.
“That’s after she punched him in the face for doing what he did” Danny says under his breath and Tim and Rick start to chuckle. “You didn’t?” Rick snorts. “I did. I had to get it out of my system” she snarls back at him. “That’s Grandma Nelly’s excuse.” “And it’s mine too” Claudia huffs at Danny.
“Since there isn’t any other information, we should get going. I will inform Matthew about our circumstances and see if he is willing to go with us to where ever we need to go” Oliver says as we all head out the door.
“Simon, when do you want to go back to the territory?” Henry asks me. “Whenever we can make the arrangements” I answer and a smile, beams across his face. “The end of the week it is” he announces and I nod in response before heading to the training compound.
