Chapter 68

Danny’s POV
“Mum; why didn’t you and Dad tell us?” I ask her over the phone the next morning. “Tell you; what exactly? Michael and I were seeing each other on and off for 5 months when your father visited the Diamond Moon Pack, trying to meet up with an old friend; I would hardly call that a committed relationship. I knew Henry was my fated mate. I didn’t know at the time; he was playing me. I didn’t even know him and Dianna were mates; Michael kept that hidden” she answers. I don’t know how to answer her; creating an uncomfortable silence.
“Danny; that was all in the past. I was 18 when I was with him and I never looked back; I still don’t” she explains and I remain silent. “Hello? Are you still there?” “Yes, Mum. I am processing” I whisper to her; trying to understand. “We didn’t think it was an important piece of information” Dad responds, down the phone.
“Clearly, it was for Michael. He didn’t want Mandy because she is a white wolf; he wanted to get back at you. Everything he is doing is because he wants to get back at you, for mating with Mum. The fact she is white; made it easier for him to convince Chris and Alfie” I tell them. “I see that” Dad says back to me.
“What is Oliver doing about Craig?” Jason asks them “He hasn’t decided. He thinks, you, Danny, Tim, Todd and Joanna need to come back here. It will be better for all of us to be together. These files have given us an idea of what we are up against” Claudia states. I can hear the worry in her voice.
“Danny; we have Sariah coming to get you. You will all be teleported back within the hour; we can’t risk Michael and Callum coming onto the territory looking for you” Dad says, down the receiver.
“We need Craig to tell us why him and James created to the files in the first place. It was clear; both of them didn’t trust Callum, or Michael for that matter” I inject into the conversation. “My thoughts, precisely. I am going to need you for that Henry; you can use your Alpha magic on him” Oliver says, he must have walked into the room as I can hear everyone shifting in their seats.
“He also must know when Michael changed from wanting to hurt Dad for taking Mum away from him to following Callum’s deluded prophecy” Claudia includes. “Oh; I may know the reason to that” Todd voices. “And?” I snarl at him. “Penelope” he responds.
“I’m lost; what does Penelope have to do with Michael changing his ideology?” Mum asks and I look at Todd for more answers. “The reason why Uncle Craig let the knowledge of the files slip on the plane ride over, he said he had to add a new file. He just didn’t know how because Dad never gave him the password; and he was fishing to see if I knew it. He muttered something under his breath about Penelope and Michael sleeping together and then something about Callum and Michael wanting to bring her into the fold. I am only assuming here; but I think Penelope had something to do with it" Todd informs us.
“Did he say how long they have known each other?” Oliver asks Todd. “No; he realised I was listening to his murmurings and stopped talking” he answers, as I give him a stern, you could have told us to begin with, look; which he is ignoring.
“Henry; I am ready to get them. What is their location?” I hear Sariah in the background. “We are at Luna Janelle’s house” Jason answers her. “Are you all there? We believe Michael and Callum may know about Todd helping us” she asks, coming closer to the phone. “Yes” I tell her; as the phone goes dead. “What the hell?” Tim says, looking at the phone.
“There’s no need for the phone call, when you will be in their room in a few seconds” Sariah says, coming in from the kitchen. “You could at least have said to us; you may as well hang up, before you hung up on us” I laugh, as she murmurs a few words under her breath; making circles in the air with her hand.
“Come; we need to get going. Todd; Joanna; you may be a bit disorientated when you walk through. Some people are if they are not use to teleportation” Sariah explains as we all walk through the porthole. “Woah; it’s almost going to a different location with a flash of light” Todd gasps, looking around the castle grounds.
“There’s no flash of light” Sariah says; looking at Todd as though he has two heads. “There is when I go to the place Danny sent me to” he replies as Sariah looks at me. ‘Mandy’ I mouth to her and she smiles with the understanding to what Todd is talking about. “Yes; that’s a different sort of spell” she tells Todd.
“Come; Claudia, Jade, Henry and Oliver are waiting for us” Sariah adds as we head into the castle doors to Oliver’s office.
“Danny” Claudia says, giving me a kiss. “I want to put some clarification on my file” Dad announces, as we all sit down around the office and I sit down next to Claudia; holding her hand.
“When I mated with Jade; Dianna and Michael were already mated. Dianna had just fallen pregnant with Alfie and invited me to see them. We had no thought of what he was thinking or feeling at the time as both Jade and myself were under the impression we were all happy with the outcome. Jade and Michael had only been seeing each other for 5 months before I came along and he already had a mate; although Dianna bore his mate mark; he has never been marked. That is how he was able to hide the fact he wasn’t mated to Dianna” Dad explains, as I give him a curious look.
“Once I found Henry; he told me about Dianna being Michael’s mate. I had no queries of walking away and never looked back; like I told you over the phone. You came along a few years later” Mum includes, looking at Claudia.
“What’s up?” Dad asks me. “I don’t know; it seems strange he would be upset with you for taking Mum away. Like Mum said; they were only together for a few months” I tell him. “We hadn’t even known one another but we knew we needed to be together from the moment we saw each other. And then you went and killed yourself” Claudia says, as Todd shuffles in his seat.
“But we are always destined to be together. Mum and Michael weren’t” I say to her; still trying to understand why. “Danny; may I speak?” Joanna says, looking at me. “Of course, Luna Joanna; you may always speak freely” I tell her, smirking at Todd.
“You have only had Claudia for reference. When you are in a relationship; sometimes people become obsessed with someone who may not share the same feelings as you. I think the same thing happened to Michael; he became obsessed with Luna Jade; she is smart, beautiful, compassionate and a bit eccentric in some areas” she giggles as mum stares her down. “In a good way, Luna Jade. You do know someone like this. They were obsessed with someone who didn’t want anything to do with them” she adds, looking at Todd.
“Anastasia” I whisper; looking at Todd. “Oh; and I want to thank you for making her reject me. It needed to happen so you would let me go and I could be with Claudia” I include as Todd shuffles in his seat again.
“I was thinking Todd and Claudia; but yes, Anastasia towards Todd is another example” “You know I am in the room, Bunny” Todd huffs at Joanna. “I know” she smirks at him.
“You came up with a name?” Claudia giggles. “Yes; Bunnies are petite and cute, just like Joanna and she said she was happy with it” “It was better than a lot of other names he thought of” she answers smiling.
“There are a few things, I don’t understand. Callum has a tendency to be all about vampires as the true and only supernatural. Michael has a tendency to be all about werewolves as the true and only supernatural and you said Penelope is the same but with werecats. How could two people who despise one another be intimate with one another, for many years by the sound of it? And also; how do they know Todd is helping us?” Tim questions, all of us.
“In regards to Todd; Apollo told me; they are sure of it because Danny wouldn’t let him off the castle territory so easily. As for the other question, I am uncertain; I know her background and how she became leader of the Silver Pride. Her father took ill and Penelope was a bit of; how do you, young ones say it? A party girl? Anyway; she was always galivanting around and she had two children out of mateship. You met the oldest son, on your escapade; Josiah” Oliver explains as we all look at one another; understanding his scent.
“Did she ever mate with her fated?” Mum asks Oliver. “To my knowledge, she has never mated. I do not know if she met him or not. Back to my story; when her father became ill, she came back with Josiah and took over as leader. Her father passed on, not too long after that” he informs us.
“Does anyone know who the father of Josiah and the other child is?” Sariah asks as the room suddenly understands where she is going with the question. “No” Oliver injects as we all come to the same conclusion.
“I think Craig needs to answer a few questions” I tell everyone. “I will have him sent up” Oliver answers, taking his phone out and messages someone.
