Chapter 7

Claudia’s POV
*“Claudia, where are you?”* Mum mind links me in a panic. *“I’m at the hospital, mum” “Thank Goddess, when your room wasn’t slept in, I thought the worst”* she tells me. *“I slept next to Danny last night. I am fine”* I inform her and close the mind link.
“Good morning” Danny says, giving me a kiss. “Good morning” I smile at him, moving the head of the bed up, for us to sit up. It was the first night, I slept without a nightmare. “Did you sleep well?” he asked. “Yes, you?” “Yes, I slept very well, for the first time in goddess knows, how long” he says. “I know what you mean” I tell him. He looks at me with concern in his eyes.
“Mum will probably be here soon; she freaked out when I didn’t sleep in my room” I inform him. “Oh” he answers, dropping his face.
“Do you have nightmares too?” he whispers. “We are a good pair, aren’t we? We can keep one another awake, with nightmares” I laugh at him. “I don’t want you to have them.” “I don’t want you to have them, either” I huff back at him. “I guess we are both hating, what we went through.”
“Last night, being next to you; it helped me to sleep” I say, giving a nervous giggle. “The same goes, for me” he replies with a half-smile. I give him a peck on the lips, “we will help each other” I tell him.
“You could have told me; you were staying here” Mum screams, coming through the door. “Sorry Mum, it was a spare of the moment thing. I will wake you next time and let you know” I tell her. “Sorry Luna Jade; I asked her to stay with me” Danny informs her. “It’s ok Danny, we just get worried when we don’t know where she is.”
“I understand that; I would too. She helped me sleep; I should have made sure she told you” he responds. “He helped me too mum” I added, looking annoyed at him, for taking the fall for me sleeping here. He smirks back at me.
“Henry and Isabella will be here shortly” she tells us. “I thought it was just going to be Claudia and I talking with Doctor Drury” Danny questions, looking at me and then mum. “Dad wants to be here too. What we need to discuss, concerns him as well” I explain; moving myself to sit in front of him on the bed.
“I have breakfast being sent down for you” Dad tells us, coming into the room. “You’re ok with her spending the night here?” Mum fumes at him. “Jade, calm down. They are mates and they want to be together. Peta told me last night; she fell asleep here” “And you didn’t think to tell me?” she screams.
“Settle down mum” I yell at her; “I came to be with Danny; deal with it?” I add as Danny puts his arms around my waist. "I’m glad you all could be here” Isabella says coming into the room and stopping from the atmosphere in the air. “Looks like I got here, just in time” she includes.
“Hi, Bella” I huff as she sits on the spare seat in the corner of the room. “What’s going on?” she asks the room. “Claudia decided to sleep here last night, without telling anyone” Mum growls. “And this is an issue with you, Jade?” she asks. “I don’t have an issue with her sleeping next to Danny, I have an issue with her, not to tell anyone” she complains.
“Claudia is 18. An adult; she has the right to sleep where she wants. She doesn’t have to tell anyone, except Danny” Dad tells her. “Danny; do you have anything to say?” Isabella says. They all look at him and I snuggle my back into him. “It was the best night sleep; I have had in a very long time” he announces.
“Me too; I didn’t wake up with a nightmare; his scent helped me to clear my head and relax” I include; turning my head and smiling at him. Isabella smiles at me; “I don’t see anything wrong. Now, our chat” she says, pulling out her notepad.
“Danny, Claudia isn’t your average she-wolf” Isabella starts; “I know, Doctor Drury; she’s a white wolf” he answers her. She looks around the room; pursing her lips together. “I told him” I comment. “Oh, thank goddess” she sighs. “Did she tell you anything else?” she asks Danny. “Only when she was 16, she was kidnapped. I got really angry; because I know I can’t defend myself, let alone her and Amanda. I wanted to start training straight away” he answers her.
“Claudia, I know it’s difficult; but you need to tell Danny what happened” she encourages me. Danny tightens his grip around my waist as I close my eyes to stop the tears forming; “I met a boy from the Diamond Pack; when I went away for leadership camp. His name was Christopher; he was the youngest son of Alpha Michael and Luna Dianna. I thought our connection was genuine; when I told you I am not a virgin, he is why” I tell him, opening my eyes as the tears start to flow down my face. He leans over my shoulder and gives me a kiss on my cheek.
I take a breath and continue “He’s brother had just turned 18 and was the next Alpha in line. I didn’t know at the time; Chris was sent to the leadership camp to find out about the rumoured, white wolf. I told him about Amanda one night, when we went out for dinner. He went to the toilet and while I was waiting for him, 3 men grabbed me; they tied me up and drove me to the Diamond Pack. When I was put in their dungeon; I told the guards my boyfriend will call for help. That’s when Christopher came into my cell laughing at me. He said, I was the slut who his brother Alfie, was going to mate with.”
“How did you escape?” he asked me. I let out a sob; “The leadership mentors from the camp noticed Chris and Claudia didn’t return and contacted me. They told me they spoke with Michael and he said; the pair had a fight and Chris drove home and he didn’t know where Claudia was. Things didn’t add up; I went down there and got my little girl back” Dad tells him. “We lost a few good men that night” Mum adds.
“I refused to mate against my will. They beat me and stabbed my arms and legs with silver. The only reason they didn’t rape me was Mandy was able to stop them. I don’t know what she did; but it worked” I cried as Amanda pushes me into my mind and comes out.
“Danny; I’m Amanda. People are misconstrued on the perception of the white wolf. Although we are one in the same, I am Goddess Selene’s chosen; not Claudia. Selene talks to me in my sanctuary and I am the one with the additional power. That is how she was able to heal the wound on your neck. She asked me to come forward and do my magic, she is still hurting we couldn’t save Betta Cameron or Master Scott” she says to him; retreating back into my mind.
“I still don’t understand, why are we are mated? She needs someone who can protect her from people like those who took her. Look at me; I can’t do that” Danny huffs. “Claudia was told, Goddess Selene has given her a mate with a pure heart. Yesterday, when she told you about Amanda, what was your first thought?” Dad asks him. “I need to train, so I can protect her” he answers. “Exactly; and when you were told no; you demanded to train, using your alpha aura against the advice of Doctor Elliot. You are the right mate for my little girl” Dad smiles.
“Amanda used her powers to heal the wound on my neck?” he asks “and the burns on your legs and arms from the silver shackles.” I add smiling at him.
“My theory is Goddess Selene has given Claudia a mate who understands what she has gone through and knows you are ‘pure of heart’ and won’t use her because Amanda is a white wolf. She sees you as a strong person; in your own right and will be able to endure what you went through and do whatever it takes to protect her” Isabella tells him.
“I also think the reason we were able to sleep soundly last night; is we need one another. Having you by my side last night, I knew you were there for me and the same for you; I was there for you. I am going to ask Doctor Elliot to discharge you” I tell him. He smiles at me “I would like that.”
“There’s something else, Danny. We want to do a pack and name changing ceremony for you to join our pack and we don’t want you to have the name of Error for the rest of your life” Dad includes. “I would like that; what’s your surname?” he asks me. “Davison” I answer. “I would like to be known as Daniel Davison” he announces. “Dad, I know I am meant to be taking over as Alpha. I would like Danny to take over from you; I will be his Luna” I add to the conversation.
“Are you sure? I don’t know anything about being an Alpha” Danny asks me; “yes you do, and I can help you, you still have a few more years before I retire to learn what you need to” Dad replies. “I had the feeling last night; you were going to do that” he adds. Nothing gets past my father.
“When would you like to do the ceremony, Alpha Henry?” Danny asks. “If you are going to take on the name of Davison and you are mated to my daughter; call me Dad. I will show you, how a father should treat his son” Dad answers him. “Um, ok; Dad” Danny says with hesitation in his voice; lowering his head.
“First rule as an Alpha; never be hesitant and do not lower your head to anyone; including myself. You need to stand tall; with conviction. Remember how you felt yesterday when you demanded to train. You need to be like that; all the time. And we will do the ceremony when you are settled into the packhouse” Dad tells him.
“I’ll ask George to come and discharge you” Isabella says, getting up from her chair and walking out the door. “We can go on the date, you promised me” I add smiling. Danny smiles back at me; “I am looking forward to going to your favourite place” he answers.
