110. The End
Lilith
Explaining to the pack was hard about my mother. Many of them had fear of having her here. But I told them how she would be understanding, and she was not a risk to them. It was strange considering; I had not once stood up for my mother. This was a huge step we had been talking all day with Eric holding my hand. We both listened to everything she told us. Jim and Rob had been friends for a long time before even my mother was rapped. Jim was adamant that Rob never hung out with my mother and the excuse was he was shady. That didn’t stop him from his friendship though. That was clear. Before I was born and even afterwards. Apparently, their friendship began to deteriorate when I was in foster care. That was when Jim started hurting my mom and becoming more of a drinker.
It made sense things Rob found out what happened to her and wanted to use it. He pushed the friendship to fall apart and then got me after I had been moved around in the system. He wanted me venerable. I knew his tactics. I knew he knew how to manipulate everyone around him. He was smart I always knew that. But his depth of deception was unfathomable. No wonder his old Alpha kicked him out. He warned Eric and was adamant he needed to die to stop his spread of rottenness. I now wondered if even the lawyer was real, and this had all been a long con for him.
Things obviously had fallen apart in his schemes when I found Eric and about Mates, and when I accepted him. When he found out about the possibility of having one of my sons he tried to shift the plans he had calculated for years. It blew up he didn’t have enough time to work it all out. I knew why he never told any of his fellow shifters of mates. He knew that would be how he lost his hold on them. He really was a psychopath or a sociopath. I didn’t know which one made it so you couldn’t feel emotions. If he could have, he wouldn’t have killed his mate. He banked on the fact that I was a Draco wolf and would be the same. But he had been wrong. I was not only a Draco wolf I was half human.
Roxie mind linked Eric and me. “I have the drone heading out if you want to bring your Missy maybe she can confirm who is your father.” I looked at Eric then my mom. “Mom would you be willing to come with us. We need to see if you recognize Blade.” She trembled at the thought of seeing him again. “Mom please I know you can do this.” I encouraged and Eric nodded. “Alright.” We walked to Roxie's. She opened the door and smiled. She was now larger, she had maybe a month left before she deliver her little girl. She walked toward the screen. Eric grabbed two chairs from Roxie and Marcus kitchen for my mother and me. He stood behind all three of us.
“You guys ready?” Roxie asked. “Yes” My mother confirmed, and we watched the fee of the drone on the screen. There were tons of trees and then we saw lower to the ground. “You had the scouts pull back just in case right Eric?” He nodded keeping his eyes on the screen. We all looked at the screen. Finally, we saw them. Almost all of them where in their wolf forms. It was a lot of black fur. There were some fighting and even some that looked dead just lying on the ground.
“Eric did the scouts tell you anything about this about them, and what they saw?” I asked. “No, they couldn’t get close enough just that they were there. Both of us agreed they needed to stay far enough away to remain hidden and just track if the moved out.” That is what we both agreed on. We only wanted them to find them and make sure they were still there when I wanted to come. Neither Eric nor I would risk entering that place. “There” My mother said. I leaned in. “It looks like him, but he is younger, and shorter.” I looked at those around him. He was shorter than some of the shifters but then I noticed several shifters were shorter. These were not all full shifters.
The ones who looked to be close to my age were all half human. My stomach dropped; I felt sick I knew what this was. My father was not the only rapist. Most of this pack was made up half shifters like me. Just then one of them was staring at the drone. We watched as a rock came hurling at the drone. Roxie was able to move in time but then the screen went black. She turned to look at me. “They knocked it down.” She spoke. “I am sorry” I told her it was fine. Eric looked at me.
“Most of them are like me. Blade was not the only one who did what he did. But he kept the kids.” Eric stared at me. “What do you want to do?” I knew the one my mother pointed out had to be a half-brother. He looked like the picture Rob gave me. “Nothing, Jim did kill my father and probably a few others. I am not going to go into that place with those things. The fighting and dead laying on the ground says they already gave into their urges. You saw them living in squaller. Why would I need that in my life.” I stood up. “This pack is stronger than when I came here. It will get stronger. Those demented things have been raised to embrace their darkest urges. They will eventually come again to us or others. We need to be ready if or when it happens.”
I walked to the door. I wanted to be alone. “I will come find you guys later I need to go for a walk.” I said and left. I went and sat down in the snow down by the frozen lake. It wasn’t long until Eric came and sat beside me. He was silent for a while and then spoke. “Lilith we can,” I held up my hand. “I don’t want to. I will not bring our pack to their attention. My father is dead, a lot of those shifters are around my age so there is not too many there who know where we are.” Eric went back to silence. “You know you are remarkable right.” I gave him half a smile.
“It was all a lie, everything Rob told me. He lied about everything. He wanted me, he wanted me to give into dark urges, go to the Draco pack kill whoever was running it and then make him Alpha and since I was Blades kid, I would have a right to kill one of my half siblings. And if I was his wife, he could be the alpha. He would have told me then about packs and how amazing they were. I would have fallen and become a monster like the rest of them. That was his plan.” Eric responded. “That is all true, I think. But he was wrong about you, he didn’t know that being in a good pack and having a mate would change you, stop most of your urges, he didn’t know that.” Eric was also right.
“You are a good Luna; you want everyone here to be safe and it has been your priority the second you took your place as Luna. Then you just decided to have nothing to do with your family well on your father's side to protect this pack. This is all things that have nothing to do with Rob. In fact, they are the opposite of his desires. You overcame your upbringing. You have shown compassion for your mother. You are not angry at the world for what it gave you. All that is you, nothing to do with what Rob wanted for you or what he raised you to be.” I knew this but it was still nice to hear.
Eric put his hand on my stomach. “These boys will change the world. They will be nothing like the Draco Wolves the world has known. They are our Legacy. We will not allow them to be those things we saw on the screen. They will be like you overcome whatever urges they have. Well not all of them, I am sure they will be into racing cars illegally and stealing things, but they will be good overall.” I smiled. “Besides they are part me too, so they won’t be complete Draco wolf after all.” I let out a little laugh. He of course was right. I looked out onto the frozen lake.
“What are you thinking, Lilith?” Eric asked me. “I am thinking it is all over. That the world will go one. We will live peacefully now. Well other than these boys. They will be what we stress about from now one. That all of this could work out for the best. Mostly I am thinking about what life will be like without my past holding me back.” I looked at him and he turned his head examining. “Also, I am thinking about how fucking cold my ass is sitting in this snow.” Eric laughed. “What are you thinking about?” I asked. “Well, agree on the cold ass part, but I am thinking about how I want to kiss you, how I want to take you back to our warm bed and fuck you.” I grinned. A moment passed and he grabbed the back of my neck kissing me hard. My hands went to his shoulders and pulled him to me. His mouth consumed mine and a small fire was rising in me at the intensity in which he held and kissed me. There was no way in hell we would make it back to the house. It was getting too hot in the snow to go home.
The End.
Thank you to all my readers. I will be posting a few epilogue chapters following this. I hope you liked my bad ass heroine who can save herself, well most of the time.
