21. Split Lip

I still couldn’t believe I was living in a palace and had to not pay for a single thing. I had spent Eric’s money yes on some stuff for me, which I felt guilty for. The other stuff was for the pack, so it didn’t seem as weird. Noel and I were pulling into Robs. I figured I could ask him if that was normal. Though I didn’t know if he would know. He had never told me if he had ever been part of a pack. But he knew about mates so maybe he would know.

I had not seen mating mark on his neck, so I didn’t even know how he knew about mates. “Why do we have to be here again?” Noel asked. “Because I want to see Rob, and not to mention, I have money to pick up.” He rolled his eyes. “I don’t know what your deal is with being here. Eric too he seemed to have some problem with Rob, he never told me why,, but it was obvious.” Noel looked at me. “Okay so you won’t tell me either, whatever. Just be nice Rob is the closest thing I have to family.”

Noel nodded as we parked and went into the gym. “Another guy, Lilith really?” I shot Todd a look. He was still here, and I was not impressed. “Where is Rob, Todd?” I asked him. He needed to have whatever was up his ass, get out. Mor came out of nowhere. “Lilith your back. Who is your friend? I thought you had another guy.” I rolled my eyes. “Mor this is Noel he is just a friend.” I didn’t have a problem with Mor. He was also a shifter that Rob had taken in. “Oh, that is nice, is he going to join our little family?” He winked at me. He had to know Noel was a shifter like us.

“Nah just going to be coming by with me.” Mor looked surprised. Todd came up. He was eyeing Noel, who had held his tongue this whole time. “What is it with you Lilith I am not tall enough for you.” Noel was about to step in when Mor turned to who I believed was his friend. “Todd don’t talk to her like that. She can kick your ass. Stop being a dick.” I smiled, glad to know Mor had my back. “So, you can fight, think you can take me.” Mor laughed. “Bro, Lilith is a fucking killer she will make you look like a baby.” Noel finally spoke. “Yeah, Lilith is a hell of a fighter.”

“Thanks, you two, but I have no interest in beating someone so bad.” Noel laughed, but Todd looked positively hateful. This was ridiculous, the only thing I ever did was turn him down when he asked me out. “Prove it, let's get in the ring. Despite you obviously having groupies I think I could take you.” Mor moved in front of him. “Todd I am serious we are friends; you do not want to fight Lilith. I can’t even beat her, and I am better than you.” He sounded so serious. He looked at me surprised. Then he said “Fine, wouldn’t want to punch a girl anyways.”

Kali lashed out “Hit him.” I felt the urge and as he walked away, I grabbed his shirt and punched him so hard he fell on the ground. “Some punch for a girl right.” I walked away feeling a little smug. Noel was trying to hold in a laugh. I looked around the floor. When I finally spotted Rob. He looked up to see me and smiled. Then his gaze fell on Noel, and he frowned. But he still came over. I gave him a huge hug which was reciprocated. “Holly, fuck I thought you would ditch us all.” He said and I shoved his shoulder. “No way in hell.” “So, how is that going?” I looked around. “It is weird the pack can’t fight, like at all. They can’t even run.” Noel nudged me in the ribs like I shouldn’t say that. “But I have plans to shape them up. They will be better in no time.” Robb laughed. “Yeah, not that great, are they?” I frowned. “No, they are okay besides that. Anyway, can I talk to you and then money?” I asked

“Anything for you kid.” I smiled and he motioned for one of the rings. “Why don’t we talk while we spar.” I smiled. “Even better.” I turned and looked at Noel. “You could join Mor for a round see how good he is.” He frowned. I knew he didn’t want to leave me alone. “Go on, I command it.” I knew he couldn’t get out of that, but I wanted to talk to Rob in private and it was good for both Noel and Mor. Rob, and I began. “Okay so Eric is paying for everything now is that normal?” I asked and Rob responded as he threw a punch which connected. He was faster than I was. “Yes, but I am sure you hate it. You were always pretty independent.” I got a kick in. Rob could throw punches well, but I was better at kicks.

“True, it is an adjustment. I wish I could have you come to the Pack. I miss seeing you every day. Also, I think you would be a kick ass trainer, way better at it than me, I mean you trained me.” He laughed as I dogged his fist. “Your mate would never let me.” I rolled my eyebrows and Robb hit me in the stomach. God, that fucking hurt. “What is all that about.” I landed a punch, turning faster and getting Rob in the back. “Nothing Lilith just it is just not going to happen. Anyways want me at your game this Friday?” He asked. “Maybe, I think Eric will be there with Noel and since you don’t get along, I doubt you will want to be there since you both seem to have a passive aggressive thing going on.”

“You are probably right.” I snorted and went for a kick, but Rob grabbed my foot and ended up getting me on the floor. He went to kick me. Our training was never fair, but I moved and jumped up. Hitting him. “God, Lilith I miss you so much.” I laughed but Rob hit me. “Fuck.” I knew he split my lip, and I charged him knocking him on his back and pounced so I had him in a hold. “Come on old man tap out.” He moved but I kept my knee locked in place and he finally tapped out.

I helped him up. When we left the ring Noel, Mor, and Todd were standing there. Had they watched? Mor said to Todd “Glad you didn’t fight her?” Todd didn’t respond. Noel had his arms crossed over his chest and didn’t look happy. I didn’t know what his problem was. I ignored him as I followed Rob to his office. He gave me my money. “You did good that car was worth a pretty penny.” I laughed. “Well, if I happen across something nice you will be the first one, I give it to. I also have plans Friday before the game to go out with Juliet so I should have some stuff from stealing I can get you.”

He gave me a pat on the back. “My girl.” I half snorted and laughed. “I better be going. I pushed back, pack training today because I knew I was coming here. I will talk to Eric; I want you to come visit. I think Shaggy would like to run in the woods.” I spoke. Shaggy was Rob’s wolf. “I won’t count on it.” I nodded. I gave him a hug goodby and went back into the gym. Mor was waiting for me with Noel. “Your buddy Noel said I could come visit if I wanted.” I raised my brow and looked at Noel who shrugged. “Maybe,” I said. “Oh, come on Lilith I have never been to your home, and you hardly hang out with any of us, now we don’t even get to see you every day.”

“Mor we never hung out.” I said. “Whose fault is that, and beside we always ask you to hang out, you are the one who never takes up our offers. Plus, Noel said there are a few Hot Shifters. And since none of us here have a chance with you, it seems only fair we finally get to meet some other female shifters.” I stared at him. “Fine I will think about it.” Mor smiled. “I will tell the other guys; they will be stoked.” I gave him a face. “I didn’t say yes, oh and by the way the girls there are fridged.” Mor laughed. “They must hate you then.” I rolled my eyes and headed for the exit, and Noel and I got back in the car.

“Did you tell him about the pack?” I asked Noel. “Yeah, he seems cool enough and like you he has never lived in a pack.” I glared at him while he drove. “So, you invite him and the other guys but no Rob, that is fucked up. I like Rob, the others are just okay. Come on tell me what is up with that.” He didn’t take his eyes off the road. “I am not going to get you mad at me, by talking shit about someone you call your family. But I will say this he was not honorable in that fight. I saw he almost kicked you when you were down.”

“Honor has nothing to do with a fight. You fight to win.” Noel responded. “That is not true Lilith.” He said like he couldn’t believe me. “Noel, this is why the pack can’t fight. Honor is a joke. When you fight you try to win, by any means necessary.” Noel didn’t respond. “So, what are you going to say to Eric about the split lip?” I looked at him eyebrow raised. “The truth.” Noel nodded. “He will hate Rob more.” I looked out the window. “He will get over it, beside how else do you think I learned to fight?” He shrugged.
