19. Fighting

Lilith

I stood there in line, with the other shifters. I was excited to see how the training was different to the training I did with Rob. I noticed a lot of looks, I offered a smile here and there. Only one woman responded to my gesture. I didn’t know why though. I had seen a few sneers at me. Which I found weird considering Eric told me the pack was happy that he finally had a mate, and they had a luna.

I noticed the other women in the pack had on t-shirts and shorts that went down practically to their knees. That seemed like it would suck to train in that. The clothes I wore for cheer practice were more aerodynamic. I usually went to Robs’ to train and since I went straight after practice, I wore what I had at Cheer. It served its purpose, and I could move well in them.

A few middle-aged men stood in the front of the line that had formed up. I guessed they would be leading the training. “Okay so I want you all to warm up with a run. I will blow the whistle when it is time to stop and then we will move on.” Easy enough, I loved running. I did it often. I knew I was fast; I may have only been half shifter, how active I was, made it so I could keep up, Rob made sure. I could run faster and further than full shifters, both when I was in my human form and Kali as well. Rob made sure every aspect of physical strength was up to par with full blooded shifters.

I only waited for a moment to see where everyone was running and fell in with them. I ran and it was not even exerting keeping pace with the others. “Lilith please go fucking faster, these idiots can’t even run, maybe you should show them.” I snorted at Kali. She liked to be the best at everything and encouraged me to be the same. I took her advice and picked up the pace. Feeling better at my actual speed.

I didn’t care when I heard the few snarls. Eric told me I would be helping him lead, I already knew I would stop all this conservative bullshit. Next thing would be to step up these shifters running. The whistle blew and I stopped. I wasn’t out of breath at all like some of the others. We hadn’t even run that long, I didn’t understand. Everyone lined up again. “Okay now pushups.” I dropped to the ground. I could feel everyone's eyes on me. Was I not supposed to get down, they were pushups? The guy said again “Yes like the Luna you all should be this motivated. Again, I will blow the whistle to stop.” Everyone moved and we started.

I went and did them until he whistled. Next was sit-ups, and burpees. Was this a joke? When were we going to punch? I thought training was fighting not just a workout? Not that I thought working out wasn’t important. I did that sometimes for training, but I also punched during the week. I kept telling myself we would get to that. Finally, after so many exercises and everyone was out of breath except me. The man leading the training said. “We are going to spar.” I smiled. This is where I excelled. “Pair up.” I was going to ask the girl who gave me a smile earlier when a blond women stood in front of me. A permeant sneer on her face. She was tall, which was no surprise, she was a full shifter. Her blond hair was pulled back in a ponytail.

I would have had my hair like that too, but Eric took my hair tie, and I didn’t think to put another one in as I ran here. “What's up?” I said to the girl in front of me. “I am.” She cut me off. “I know who you are.” “Um okay what is your name?” She hissed as she said “Mia.” I nodded. The guy said loudly. “Okay go.” The women moved quickly, and I avoided her punch. “You shouldn’t be here. Eric should have killed you when he knew what you were.” Geeze hateful much. Like I could have changed that I was born with Kali. She went to swipe me again, but I moved and was able to land a punch in her side.

She snarled and moved again to hit me, but I out maneuvered her. “You know he didn’t wait for you. He has slept with a lot of other shifters?” Kali was laughing in my head and said “Why would that matter? This girl is crazy, go on Lilith hit her.” I did as my wolf said and bit out “Of course he did? Why would I care.” The girl threw a kick which I blocked hard, and she moved again. “That had to hurt.” Kali said.

“So, you are a whore, of course he is mated to a slut.” I wanted to laugh. Why was she talking so much and not focusing, maybe if she shut up, she could land a decent hit. I leg swiped her and she wobbled, and I punched her in the side harder than she hit me. “You even look like one of them.” She hissed. What was up with morality crap? She didn’t block her face so I pretended like I would move one way she followed the movement, and I moved back fast and punched her in the jaw.

This was ridiculous. This pack needed serious training if they all fought like this. She finally landed a kick that knocked me back, I saw her stupid smirk and charged her which she was not prepared for, arrogance in a fight was not a good strategy. You should always expect to lose, then you fight harder. My body collided with hers. I held her firmly, bringing my fist to punch her back. She managed to get out of my hold. But she was not prepared when I crashed my forehead into hers.

Mia stumbled a little and I roundhouse her. I stood there waiting to see what she would do next, but she was snarling. Kali said, “She is going to shift, let me out I will kill her.” I shook my head trying to get her to calm down. I could tell she wanted blood. And like Kali said Mia shifted into her brown wolf. She charged at me. I remembered how Rob taught me to fight a wolf in human form. I ran, she thought I was going to let her chase me, but I needed room for this move. As she ran toward me on the field, I turned fast, my hair flying everywhere as I charged and slid onto my legs going right under her.

Had she been a male wolf I would have hit his nuts, but this was a female. So, I hit her in her wolfs lower abdomen. The wolf growled as I came out on the other side of her. She was facing me, and she swiped and barely got my stomach with her claws. I could feel Kali, she was fighting me for control, she wanted out. I tried to stop her but when the wolf went to bite me, I hit it in the jaw as hard as I could.

It surprised her. I doubt someone would fight a wolf in human form. Kali took this as an opportunity, she took control and I shifted. I could only watch as Kali tore into Mia’s much larger wolf. All the other shifters were bigger than us. But that didn’t matter to Kali. She was vicious, biting Mias wolf in the leg. Her size let her move lower and she clamped on and began to shake as she bit into the leg.

I knew she had bitten down to the bone. The wolf whimpered as Kali wouldn’t let go for a moment, and then she released. When she ran away, I knew she was going to try to do the same move I did earlier, only she had claws and if she did it right, she would rip Mia’s wolfs stomach open. Mia’s wolf knew better and didn’t run after Kali. Which angered my wolf more and she ran toward what she perceived as the enemy that was already teetering on consciousness. Someone screamed I heard through Kali’s ears. “Tranquilizer her she will kill Mia.” Kali ran toward Mia’s wolf and then used her strong legs to lead in the air.

I thought she was going to bite into the wolf she had been fighting but her body turned, and she now faced someone else who was still in their human form. “Tranquilizer.” The boy shouted. Kali barred her teeth, she was moving slowly, she wanted to scare the guy before she was going to kill him “Kali do not kill him.” I shouted in her head. She didn’t stop. I fought for control. Just then she fell to her side.

Her eyes focused and it was Axel, they locked their eyes. They were talking. Kali growled at Axel who was bigger than probably any wolf. Kali walked away from Axel, and I was relieved. But she didn’t stop and let me shift back. She went back to Mia’s wolf. Bitting her again on her other leg and her wolf could no longer stand and fell to the ground. Kali used her paws digging into the brown wolf and turned her by puncturing her sides. She crawled on top of her growling, so she was face to face. “Please Kali, do not do this.”

“Calm down, I am making a point.” Kali said. Then she snapped her teeth like a rabid dog right in the wolfs face, spit was flying and then she stopped and casually walked back to Axel, rubbing her body along his. He nudged her. I was confused. I didn’t think Kali would yield for anyone, but whatever Axel said made her restrained. He started licking Kali and I felt gross watching them. Thank God Kali pushed me out of her mind, so I was left alone and didn’t have to see what she was going to do. I would thank her later.
