15. High School
Lilith
“Noel this car is ridiculous.” I said as we sped toward the city. We were in some classic muscle car. “It is not, it is bad ass.” I glared at him as he sped. “You didn’t even ask Eric if you could use his car.” Noel laughed. “Well, my brother shouldn’t keep his keys where they are easily accessible, besides he is the one making me go back to high school. He owes me this.” I stared at him. When we left this morning to head to the city, Noel told me, once we were far enough from the pack, that Eric had restored this thing to pristine condition. “He is going to kill you if what you said was true about him loving this car.” Noel smirked.
“Oh, I was not exaggerating no one but him has driven it, well until today.” I glared at him, had I known we would have taken another one from the garage. They had more than enough to choose from. “You can’t tell me the purr of this engine is not glorious.” I heard it as he revved it up. I couldn’t help but smile a little. Noel must have seen me and laughed. “Just tell Eric you took it, then he won’t care, your his mate.” I glared at him. “I am not going to lie to him for you.” He smiled and said “You are my Luna you have to protect me, and that includes from the wrath of my brother so when you see the anger, he will no doubt show, you will smudge the truth I am sure of it. Besides you laughed when I pulled onto the asphalt and I know you like the car, so you see I was just trying to make my Luna happy, and this car is happiness.”
I snorted but didn’t respond. As much as I hated to admit this car was glorious. I could feel Kali saying “You could steal this bad boy imagine going on a road race with it. We would win.” I got serious. “Kali, not this car, it is Eric’s but if you want to race, I could arrange that. I never thought about it. You never showed a desire for it.” She responded. “A race would be fun, I am speed. You are fast too and when we steal the cars, you certainly know how to drive, let’s consider it.” I smirked. This was how we usually talked about our crimes. Now that she knew she would get to see Axel every day and run in the woods, she seemed more pleased and went back to the report we had before. Last night she had spent three hours running in the woods.
Noel said. “Kali, she is fast.” I felt her joy in his statement. His wolf, Rex, had gone for a run with Kali and Axel. Well, until they began coupling then he ran off. I looked at him. This was the first time he had brought up Kali. “She is, she runs a lot.” He paused and continued “She is a little scary, but not as much as I thought she would be. Maybe because she is on the smaller side.” I examined him. He didn’t show any Un comfortability. He seemed at ease talking about this. “She didn’t mind you; you know. She has only been around a handful of shifters in their wolf form, she was curious but not threatened or wanting to fight, if that makes you feel better, but I am going to warn you, do not get on her bad side or test her. That would be very bad.”
Flashbacks of the shifter that Rob took in a few years ago flashed in my mind. He had made fun of Lilith’s size and back then I didn’t have control over her, as much as I do now. I tried to shift my brain from those memories. I went silent as we pulled up to the parking lot.
People were looking at the car as we pulled into a spot. “What are they staring at?” Noel asked. “The fucking car duh.” He laughed. “Right, they are jealous of our sweet ride.” I shoved his shoulder saying “Behave.” We began walking to the school. Eyes following us all the way. I figured it was not because of me, but of Noel. He was attractive, like his brother. Though his build was a little smaller than Eric’s, he was still built. He had the same dirty blond hair and brown eyes. Then there was his height. Eric was taller, but Noel was still large. Subjectively I thought he was handsome, but nothing compared to Eric who oozed sex.
I felt my stomach tighten thinking of his massive stone hands pinning my arms above me while he rammed his massive cock into me. I shuddered. Noel must have noticed I was thinking of Eric, and he said, “My brother will be glad to know you can’t stop thinking about him.” I glared at him. I wanted to throw one of my pom poms at him. He laughed. We got into the school, and he looked around. “You will have to go to the office since you're new. Which is good because I need to head to the locker room and put my cheer stuff up.” He looked at me seriously. “I am supposed to stay with you.” My hands went to my hips, and I was stern when I said. “You can’t follow me into the girl's locker room, and Eric told me I can give commands, so I am telling you what to do in this instant.”
I avoided saying pack or referring to myself as a Luna, but Noel knew what I meant. “But Lilith I don’t know where anything is?” He had a point. “Fine we need to hurry, you can wait outside the locker room and then we can go to the office. And since you are in all my classes you will know where to go.” He smiled like he won some victory. The eyes looking at us never stopped even when we sat down for our first class.
In the first Period I slid into the seat next to Juliet. She looked past me to Noel. “Juliet this is Noel, he is?” I didn’t know what to call him, but He spoke for me. “I am Lilith’s friend.” I looked back at Juliet. “Yes, he just transferred here.” Juliets eyes roamed over him her face flushing as she examined him. I had seen other girls do the same as we had made our way through the school getting to class. She said shily “Hi, nice to meet you.” He gave her a sly smile and I thought she may faint.
Class started and of course the teacher made Noel stand up and introduce himself. “I am Noel, and as for your question of what I like, it is hanging out with my best friend Lilith.” He looked at me and I glared at him. He chuckled as he sat down. “Asshole.” I said to him as I went to listen to the lesson. I knew he was joking around, from what I learned about him, he liked to goof off, but Eric said he had a good mind for being a Beta, but more importantly he was loyal above all else.
Throughout the morning class Noel kept passing me notes. Saying how bored he was. When we sat down for lunch, I was relieved. “I forget how boring school was.” He said Juliet looked at him like she didn’t get it. I nudged him under the table. He was not to give any indication that he was not a high schooler. He started to talk to Juliet, and I ate my food, when Jacob came up to our table. His nose was in a bandage, and he had two black eyes. I tried not to smirk as I looked at him. I had done that. Juliet eyes turned to him. “Lilith, can I talk to you for a second.” I nodded, getting up from my seat. Noel stood not wanting me to talk to him alone. I glared at him, telling him to leave me alone.
We walked to the edge of the cafeteria, and he kept his voice low as he said. “Do you know what happened Friday night?” I raised my eyebrow. “I remember seeing you at the fight.” He said. I responded, “Oh yeah, you were there.” He looked around “Yeah, do you what happened, I mean did you see me get hit?” Of course, he didn’t have a memory he and his friends had been high as kites not to mention drunk. “No, I just said Hey to you. But your nose looks bad, and your eyes, did it happen at the fight?” I knew what happened and it gave me sick satisfaction seeing him like this.
Kali was howling in laughter at the state of his face. “Yeah, I think so, lots of shit happened. Both Caleb and Joshua and even I got robbed. Someone stole my car keys; my dad is furious.” I tried to seem sympathetic, but I was happy. I had made him miserable all for the sake of Juliet. Despite the fact she didn’t ask me to. “Yeah, sucks. That part of town is rough.” He nodded. “Well, thanks anyway.” I gave him a half smile. He looked past me at Noel. “You should ask your friend if he wants to join the football team, he looks like he is built for it.” I snorted.
I doubted Noel would do that. He seemed to hate being here, and high school sports would probably hold little enjoyment for him. “Well, I will see you around.” I walked back to my table and sat down. “What was that about?” Juliet asked. “Nothing, important.” Noel looked at me like he was trying to see what I was thinking. I just gave him a smile. Juliet went on and on about a book she was reading while both Noel and I ate listening to her. School went by fast and then it was time for cheer, which Noel seemed to dread the most. But he watched from the belchers while I practiced, mostly playing on his phone.
