Eric

It had been 10 days since Lilith went missing. I was out of my mind; Axel was beyond enraged. We both were just in horrible states. I had gone to the city thinking at the very least I would be able to mind link her, but nothing had happened. I couldn’t hear her in my mind. I had first shown up at Robs gym. Rob was not in a good state. He was confused and looking around. He had been tied to his chair and had a massive bite on his shoulder. Bowie had done this.

So, I knew Rob didn’t have her, though that had not stopped me from integrating him. I had only found out that he didn’t tell Bowie about her needs being a Draco wolf, he didn’t know about the mind link and how packs worked and only had brief knowledge on mates. I talked with the shifters from the gym that had joined my pack. They all agreed Rob should be released. That he was probably the best way to locate Bowie. I hated it but I knew they had been right. We watched and waited but nothing was happening other than Rob getting angrier by the day. What I had learned is Bowie had done a lot while he was in prison. He learned, plotted, and made connections.

Rob had not lied humans did know about our kind and the ones that were in the know where all working for Bowie, Rob had found that out too late. Bowie was only working with him thinking he could get close to Lilith again, but that backfired and now he had taken her. Rob was infuriated. He hated me but it was now apparent his hatred for Bowie was deeper than his hate for me. I think it had to do with him not knowing things. But during interrogation I could tell he was trying to manipulate me. I had the guys from his gym, that were now on my side, watch to pick up things I couldn’t, they knew him better.

“He has no idea where Bowie is, he will use you to find her. He couldn’t find the pack which is why he sees this as something he could take advantage of. But he is mad beyond belief that Bowie pulled this, but he is hiding something, that is obvious.” Percy told me. I had not been able to figure that out yet, but I had Roxie watching everything she could about Rob. He would be looking for her as much as I was. When she hacked into a satellite to keep tabs on the gym and comings and goings I was impressed. She tracked his credit cards and debit cards. She really could get a job for the CIA or something her skills were unmatched.

“He seems to be more enraged with every passing day.” Roxie told me as I leaned over to look at the screen. I could see him outside he was yelling as he walked to his truck. “I also noticed yesterday he had 6 grand come out of his account. I think he is losing money, he had another grand come out yesterday, this has been going on for three days Alpha.” What did all this mean though? I knew nothing about this kind of shit, also why did I care if he was losing money. I just wanted my mate back. Everything felt off here without Lilith.

Axel was angry and annoying. My mind was always rushing, and I was anxious. I even had thrown up every day sometimes multiple times. I felt like trash. The pack continued training the way Lilith would want. The groups did as they were supposed to, and Noel had taken over Lilith's morning shifter training.

“Roxie is there any areas around the city, I am not talking about warehouses on the outskirts of it but within a three-hour radius that have something. There has to be at least something we can go check out right?” She had to be somewhere. We had already combed the city for her. Every single warehouse there was no stone left unturned, I knew she wasn’t in the city. Rob would have found her by now if that was the case. He had an empire there and he still had not gotten her. Whatever was going on with his finances were not of value at least not to me, still Roxie monitored it. “I can look alpha.” Roxie said zooming out of the city and looking around.

I noticed something grey in the trees. “What is that?” I asked pointing at it. Roxie zoomed in. “Looks like a rock with trees growing out of it, you know it is wilderness out there.” I looked at the screen. “Zoom in more and move the picture to the left.” She did and I noticed there was a tiny gap in the trees. “It is a road, whatever that is, it has a road to it.” I spoke. “Alpha it is probably a hiking trail, it doesn’t look like anything to me.” I couldn’t say it wasn’t, but I just had to do something even if it was gripping at straws. “I am going.” I told her. She nodded as I left her command center she had set up. I didn’t care if it looked like nothing but a weird wilderness spot. I needed to be doing something, anything. Noel ran up to me. “Where are you going Eric?” He asked.

“I am going to check something out.” I spoke. “I will go with you.” He said and I could feel the pitch in his voice he was faking sounding happy. I knew it was for my sake. He was upset Lilith was gone, but he was putting on a brave face to make me feel better. “I don’t need help Noel.” I told him. “I know that, but I want to come.” I groaned and said “Fine” I dropped into my dodge charger and peeled out of there. I mind linked Roxie. “Send the coordinates to my phone.” She agreed and then a Bing. “Noel make yourself useful go to the maps and tell me where I am going.”

He did as he was told. “Do you think she is really there? Eric, it looks like plain wilderness, there is nothing out there and it is like three hours from the city, and four to five hours from here.” I didn’t respond. “Eric?” Noel said. I replied. “I don’t think so but we have not checked it out so it wouldn’t hurt.” I told him. “I think Luna is in the city. Bowie wouldn’t take her that far from it. He knows the city not the woods.” I snapped at him. “Oh yeah then where the hell is he then. We went over inch of that metropolis and there was nothing no sign, no scent, nothing no one could track Bowie there either.” Noel became quiet.

“We are in radius to mind link Eric do you want to try?” Noel asked after hours of silence. “Lilith are you out there?” I sent out a mind link. “Eric?” I slammed on the brakes. I heard her. She was in range. “What is happening?” Noel said. “Shut the fuck up.” I snapped at him and then mind linked again. “Lilith love I am coming for you can you tell me where you are.” There was a long silence in my mind. “A prison, but Eric I can’t.” It went silent. She had to be sleeping or worse if she couldn’t mind link. “She is at a prison, call Roxie and get me everything she can find.” Noel nodded. I hit the gas driving as fast as I could. I didn’t know if I was going to the right place but I knew she was close so I would not leave this area until she was found.

Noel put his phone on speaker. “Go ahead Roxie” he said. “Alpha you were right there is something there. Noel told me prison and I looked. This one is old, and I mean really old. I had to go way back to even find out information on it. It looked like a rock and trees because it was abandoned back in the 40’s. The earth has started to reclaim it.” Okay that is all good and well, but I needed to know anything about its security. “So, from what I found out the prison was high security, the cells were more like all for solitary confinement. There are no windows or anything. That is all I can tell you, but I can keep digging.” I nodded flying down the road. It didn’t take long until I found a hidden turn off.

“Eric we should stash the car. We could sneak back.” I shook my head. “No way in hell we are doing that. Lilith told me Bowie on blood is faster than we can run. My car is faster than we can run and hopefully faster than Bowie. We will get as close to the prison as possible then hide it.” Noel nodded. We were going in blind. Thankfully it was the afternoon. “We need to wait for night Eric, I know you want her back now, I do to, but we can’t be seen coming in and giving them an advantage, we don’t know what is in there or who?” I stared at him. “He teamed up with humans how bad could it be.” I retorted.

“Yes, but if he is in there on blood? Or I don’t know others like him, who knows just wait we only have maybe an hour before nightfall.” I snarled but agreed. We hid in the tree line watching and waiting. I counted the trucks in front there was ten, and then two nicer looking cars, one was a flashy sports model and the other was generic, newer but generic. I watched and noticed movement. “Bowie” I said quietly he was leaving. Fucking lucky bastard. I would rip him apart given the chance. There was someone with him, who wore a suit. He was tall not like a shifter but a human, he had blond hair that was pushed back. The two of them left and I hoped they didn’t see my dodge I stashed.

There was no barbed wire or anything. The place just looked abandoned minus the ten trucks out front. Noel and I waited another half an hour before we approached the prison and then we moved out of the woods. It was weird we just walked to the front door. It was open, Bowie either had something up his sleeve or he really thought no one would find him. The place was eerie there were lights that came on when we entered. Motion detected maybe. I could hear a hum echoing off the walls, and I knew this place ran on a generator. We ended up killing seven men before one of them told us where she was.

I knew we shouldn’t kill humans, but everyone here was guilty. Not to mention they knew of the supernatural they had to die. I killed two more that were outside of bars to a hallway. No one made a sound breaking necks kept them from screaming. I left Noel to stand by the bars that were doors. I needed to make sure I had a way out. No one blocked any of these weird cells. I found slides that looked in and went down the line. When I got to the fifth one, I looked in and saw someone. This was Lilith I could make out her body, despite the darkness. I opened the door to find her crumpled naked on a mattress.
