112. Presents

Epilogue

Lilith

We all sat at the dinner table. The boys were all excited and the three of them you could tell were excited. But Eric then told them they would not be shifting together. “You can’t be serious Dad. I want to see their wolfs.” Darwin said. Eric responded. “Once we know how the three of you will be we can have you shift again and see if your wolfs get along. Mom and I already told you the risks, this is not a joke.” Tyson said nothing. I looked at my middle child. His knuckles were all bruised up.

The kid he beat up had to go to the clinic. He was so much like me it was unnerving. Kali spoke in my head. “We can help him. Don’t need to worry Lilith.” I hoped she was right. Dinner finished and all of us went to the family room. We were going to be doing presents and cake in a little bit. For the boys last birthdays, we would do parties but with it being the one they would shift on we figured tonight it would just be family. There birthday was not to be until 12pm tonight. That is when they would shift and actually turn 16.

We went to the family room where we had brought down several gifts. We always did three gifts for each one of the boys. This year however two of the gifts were small seeing as each of them had a large gift waiting for them outside. Darwin was shoving Issac who was laughing, Tyson was quiet per his usual as he walked in. They all were so different. Noel plopped down on the couch. I followed and so did Eric. I got a mind link from Noel. “Remember I have planned this weekend; I won’t be here.”

I looked at him. Of course I remembered. He was going to see his girlfriend. She was his age and was matless. Well not by choice. Her mate had died like his, they met at some party I held a year ago to help shifters find mates. It was in the city. Her daughter was there looking for a mate and since she had a younger son Noel went to visit her more than her coming here, though sometimes she did. “Why are you reminding me, I already know this Noel.” I said to him over mind link. “I just wanted to remind you, though if something does happen tonight that is unforeseen, I will stay home and help. I already told her about the boys shifting.” I glared at him.

“Don’t worry I didn’t tell her about them being draco wolves.” I nodded. We still kept that information close to the belt. I never shifted in front of other packs if I could help it. I didn’t want to bring trouble to our pack and what I was would do that. All that may change though with the triplets shifting tonight. It may all be out in the world that we are a pack with Draco wolves. That in itself was unnerving. I didn’t know if that would invite strife into what would become of us. Though at this point the pack was much more equipped to deal with attacks than it had been when I first came here. Now they were all killing machines. Still not good enough to better me or Eric but good enough to take on the average shifter.

“Got it Noel, you don’t have to remind me I do have a calendar.” I mind linked him and he shrugged. “Okay Issac you go first, the red one is for you.” He shot both Eric and I a look. “Dad, I know the red ones are mine, the green is for Tyson and Darwin gets blue, you have been color coordinating everything since we were in diapers.” I tried not to laugh. It was amusing to say the least. Tyson grabbed the red wrapped present and opened it to find a shirt with some band he liked on it. He smiled and I knew he liked it. Tyson went next and he had a hat with a sport team he liked on it. He didn’t smile but he thanked us. All the boys liked sports. They all watched it on TV. Darwin went next, he started jumping up and down at the new set of charcoal sticks he got for drawing.

Finally, it came to the last three gifts all in little boxes. Marcus had helped Eric, and I pick out a car for each of the boys. All three of the boys opened their boxes at the same time to revel car keys for all three of them. “Should we go and see them?” Eric asked and the boys all got up smiles huge on their faces and we went outside to see them. We had gone through the garage which had been made larger these past several years. Darwin’s car was a truck, a classic 1950’s chevy that had been restored. I didn’t know why he wanted that, but he had been going on and on about it to Noel about how classic cars were the best. I think he had to get the idea from Eric seeing as Eric liked vintage cars.

Then there was Tyson who walked up to his black truck. It was decent with a full-size bed and regular cab. He liked things for utilitarian purposes and that is what the truck was if nothing else. Then there was Issac. He liked fast cars, I think he wanted to join in a race like me, so he ended up with a BMW like mine. If he wanted it fast all he had to do was put in the work and it would fly. The boys were all so different. They all had different likes and dislikes for triplets they were so dissimilar. I think you could tell they were siblings by some of their features, but their interests were so varied. Issac was strong willed and liked books that was his main interest. Tyson liked physical pursuits, and Darwin liked art.
