85. Waking Up

My face was on the bed when I felt a small hand in my hair. I looked up and saw Lilith was still asleep, but she had moved her hand into my hair. I sat up and said “Lilith?” Her eyes shot open, and a blood curdling scream filled the room. I moved fast getting close to her face. “Lilith you are safe now.” I went to give her a kiss hoping it would snap her back to reality, but she head butted me. She jumped from the bed looking around like she was insane. I went to grab her, but she hit me. “Get the fuck away from me, I will fucking kill you.” I yelled. “Lilith.” The door opened. Shit.

I moved shoving them out of the way and blocking the door. “Lilith it is me, Eric your mate, you are home now.” She screamed like an animal and jumped on me and bit me, then she stopped suddenly. Her head shook. “Eric?” She said quietly I nodded. She looked around like she was coming off of something. “Where are we?” She asked. “We are at the pack clinic; Noel and I came and got you.” I said and she continued to look around. “Please get back in bed, the doc needs to come back in and reattach your IV.” She looked at the bed and nodded moving slowly she got back into the bed covering herself back up.

“Okay I am going to let the doctor and nurses back in, please don’t hurt them, okay?” Lilith nodded. The doctor and one nurse came in. “Hey Luna, glad to see you awake.” Lilith didn’t respond she just stared at him. The nurse went back to hooking up her IV. “We are just making sure you are hydrated and are not in pain.” The doctor said when she looked at the IV. “Don’t fucking give me drugs.” He raised his eyebrows. “Luna, I think.” She snapped. “I said don’t you give me fucking drugs you shithead, do as I say, fucking asshat.” She looked off.

I mouthed sorry to him, and he just gave me a smile. “Now there is somethings we need to talk about.” The doctor said but she didn’t respond just looked out the window. It was snowing and she seemed transfixed. “Can you tell me what happened?” She spoke. “It is none of your mother fucking business what happened to me. So why don’t you go fucking shove a banana up your ass and let me be.” He waited a moment and said, “Luna I need to know so I can treat you.” She wiped her face around to face her. “As your Luna, I command you to not ask me that again.” She gave him a cruel smile and looked back out the window. The doctor looked at me and shrugged and mind linked me. “Maybe you can get her to talk, just let me know if I need to know something.” He then left the room and the nurse did to.

“What Eric?” She said not even looking at me. “Lilith you have to tell me what the hell happened.” “Do I now?” She hissed. “Yes, Lilith you do.” She snarled. “I don’t want to.” She spoke. “I get that, but Lilith I need to know.” She didn’t look at me or speak for a long time. “The baby is yours.” That is all she said and went silent again. I stood there wondering if she would say more. “He tried you know over and over again. At first, he tried the nice thing but that didn’t even last hours. Kali got out and he killed his guards and got all blood high. You know I had to fight her and him constantly. She tried to kill us to get away from him after the fifth day. He was brutal.”

She went on. “He found out about the baby; said he could taste it when he bit me. That is why my stomach looks like that. He wanted the thing gone. He bit me again and still tasted it and he said he wanted to drain it, so he bit my stomach. I don’t know is it dead?” She asked. “No, but the doctor said you could miscarry.” She snorted. “Bowie would be pleased. Anyways he brought Bjorn by. Apparently, he found out, either Bowie did and told him or he found out on his own that I destroyed his shit.” What was she talking about. “Oh yeah you don’t know I burnt all of his high-profile cars tried to crumple Bjorn's empire. Anyways Bowie brought him, said he could have me for a short while if they made a deal and the only condition was to make sure I had no baby when he returned me.”

He was going to traffic her for a deal, I saw her mouth slowly turn up at the corners. “Well Bjorn wanted a moment with me you know a good will gesture.” She let out a demented laugh. “Well Bowie let him have his moment.” She now was laughing harder, and it was frankly creepy. “Let's just say Bowie will be having a hard time with women for a while. Not that will let Bowie know what I did or anyone else. The man is worried about what others think.” What the hell did she do? “Anyways he left Bowie came into feed again and I passed out, I think I was tired I don’t know. I heard you though I think before.” She was back to acting like a statue looking at the snow falling.

“Your nails did Bowie do that?” I asked. She said in a monotone voice. “Most of the damage is from Kali my nails included, but some are from Bowie. All but one bite is from Bowie. The one on my chest was Kali.” I couldn’t see it because of the sheet covering her. I didn’t know what to say or how to comfort her, she looked so far gone, in her own head. Why had Kali done all that. Why had she tried to kill her. “Do you want some food?” I asked thinking she may be hungry. “Cheeseburger, strawberry milkshake and fries.” She said and I nodded and went to tell the doctor and mind link Noel to bring that food here.

I came back in the room and Lilith was back to being asleep. I would wake her up once I got her some food. I sat there thinking. She had been gone ten days and seemed like herself still. Angry but still herself. I didn’t understand about her fighting with Kali. Was it like when she refused to shift or something along those lines. I asked my wolf, Axel, to speak to Kali. He said to me. “Already did, she doesn’t want to talk about it. She said she is ashamed.” Okay so I guess I would have to wait until Lilith told me about it. I sat there watching her Noel came in with the food.

“She looks bad Eric, did she tell you anything about what happened.” I nodded. I mind linked him. “She is pregnant.” He looked at me. “It is mine.” He nodded. “Eric she is going to take a while to heal.” Lilith voice cut through the room. “I know you are here Noel, don’t talk about me while I am right here. You could have the fucking decency to do it behind my back, shithead.” Noel smiled.

“Good to see you still have that mouth.” She growled out. “Fucking give me my food and get the hell out.” She said not amused. Noel mind linked me. “We can talk later about this.” Just then a vase flew through the room and smashed against the wall. Lilith had thrown it while she remained in bed. “I said to fucking leave Noel.” He nodded handing me the food and ran from the room. “You didn’t have to yell at him.” Lilith rolled her eyes as I handed her the food which she snatched from me. “He can get over it.” she said and began to eat. She got some slack here she was not obviously well, having been abducted. I knew she would mellow out soon enough. “Eric can I please go home, I want to get clean and put on clothes.”

I said, “If the doc says it is okay then yes.” She kept eating. “Lilith why were you so wet when I found you?” She didn’t respond just ate. I watched and she laid back down. “Can you go ask him now Eric?” I nodded and went to ask to see if she could go home now since she had woken up. “Alpha we just need to watch her for a little while longer.” The doctor told me, when I got back to her room, the window was open, and Lilith was nowhere to be seen. I got a mind link. “Alpha the Luna is trekking through the snow in a sheet.” Shit she was going home. I told the doc and ran to catch up with her.

“Lilith you should have stayed at the clinic.” I told her. “I want to go home, so I am going home okay.” I nodded “But I am going to carry you, you have no shoes on.” Lilith didn’t fight me on it. I picked her up and she winced a little bit, but she settled in my arms. Her head rested on my chest. I brought her through the packhouse. She saw Noel as he was walking and smiled at him. “Thanks Noel, the cheeseburger hit the spot.” He smiled at her. We got to our suite, and she looked around. Glad to see you left the bed broken.” I smiled at her. “Okay I will get the shower turned on.” She nodded as I set her down.

“Okay the water is warm now; I can help you if you want.” She snorted, I am not home for 24 hours, and you want to fuck?” I gave her a look like you know that is not true. “I can do it myself but thanks Eric.” I nodded but the second she opened the shower door she froze; her breathing became ragged. Her head started shaking and she kept saying “No!” over and over again. “What is it?” I asked placing my hand on her back. “Turn off the water please Eric.” I did and she was trying to get a hold of her breathing. “Spong bath would be best with the stitches you know.” I told her.

“I will just take a bath; I could fucking care less about my stitches.” I nodded. I knew she should keep them dry, but she had not been bleeding when she came in so i figured they were for cosmetic reasons so she would heal better. “You will have scars most likely if they get wet.”

Lilith snorted. “So” I nodded. I didn’t care she would always be beautiful to me. The water filled up and she got in and let out a big breath. “Fuck this feels good.” I looked at her. “What happened with the shower Lilith?” She looked at me. I could tell she was still tired. “Bowie hated when I was unclean. Said it made the whole room stink, so he liked to give me baths. And by baths, I mean dragging me to a room with a giant hose that he blasted at me with freezing water. To answer your question that is why I was wet when you found me. He didn’t want Bjorn to have to smell me.” She went silent again and leaned her head back. “Do you want me to give you some alone time?” I asked. “No, have been alone for a while; I prefer you to be close.” I nodded and sat on the edge of the tub.
