“So, tell me what the hell all of that was about. I know she was staying at school until graduation so she could get the information on her father. Some attorney or something would reach out or Lilith would contact him with her diploma, I don’t know, other than she needed to graduate to get the information.” I said to Noel and Marcus. I didn’t understand why my mate wanted to know the man who raped her mother and was considered a monster.

Now that I know he is Blade Draco, I knew for sure he was a monster, one of the worst out there. If not the most evil vile creature to be placed on this earth. Then his so-called title was ridiculous, calling himself Alpha King, like trashing and wreaking havoc made him a king. He just spread destruction he never settled any of the places his mad mind drove him to attack. Disgusting, I thought sneering at the thought of him coming here and committing just horrible atrocities.

“Well go one, why was Lilith like that, why did you beat the shit out of my mate Marcus?” I questioned again. Marcus and Noel sat down on the chairs opposite me, probably wise considering I wanted to kill them at the moment. Noel looked at Marcus as I did. “Well, I don’t know where to start exactly.” Noel responded, “The beginning when you met the Luna and then go from there.” I nodded. I wanted to know everything. “Well, I first met her in foster care, you know I am three years older than her. I went to live with Rob. I shifted there. I actually turned thirteen the day I was placed there.”

“I thought it was a treat for my birthday, I was not going to be in a group home anymore. Lilith of course I had only met in the system at some event in the city for kids in the foster care system. But anyways, I was with Rob and shifted. I was moved around again when I was 15, so I was only there for two years, Rob helped through the transition, and I met Tate and Percy there. Rob had all three of us under his roof at the time. We all got moved out of that house and placed somewhere else.”

“Lilith came to live with Rob when she was 12, she only stayed with him until almost her 14th birthday. But somehow, she was sent back home. She was the only female Rob had ever taken in. All of us were confused about it at the time. He didn’t foster girls. We all thought it was weird.” Noel then cut in. “You left Rob’s house how did you get all this information if you were not living there?” I answered Noel. “Because if you don’t know they had a community of other shifters, and Rob, had a place for them to work out and run their wolves, come of Noel that is obvious.” Marcus nodded in agreement.

“Yeah, it is like Alpha said.” I was surprised and gladdened, Marcus had been so good at keeping to rules and referring to Lilith and me as Alpha and Luna, well other than when telling this story. But when he spoke to her in the garage, he called her Luna. “Go on Marcus” I told him. “Yeah, we were all shocked, then we found out she was a shifter, it made sense Rob kept her. Rob, didn’t take in anyone else when Lilith moved in, and once she shifted, she soon became Rob’s favorite.”

“He trained her as much as possible, made her regiments, ran her. We noticed a lot in the attic where we run, she had a hard time shifting. Like she fought her wolf. Rob would close the gym in the evening to the humans, it went on for like two years, us shifters who were still allowed into the gym, could hear her wailing, like the most severe pain, we saw her in the attic while we ran her fighting the shift. Rob at first was kind to her, trying to get her to breathe through it and get her through it.”

“But it was not working, so one day while she was screaming, Rob hit her hard. He just beat the shit out of her, I mean what I did was nothing like what he did. I really thought he would kill her. But she shifted finally and unlike other times it snapped her brain into action, and she didn’t take hours like before. But Rob would trick her wolf until she was on one of the wheels and Kali would run for hours and hours. From then on, when she would fight her shift, Rob would beat her. He avoided her face obviously but her ribs and legs. Eventually she stopped fighting it and she shifted fine.”

When she went back to her parents' house, he continued to dote on her. She adored him. I mean really loved him, she would do anything he asked, for the most part. She committed crimes for him, let him keep most of the money, and she was good at it. I don’t know when that started. Everyone started to hit on her, because she was the only female shifter we knew.” I snarled at Marcus. He held up his hands. “Nothing ever happened dude, she wanted nothing to do with any of us, other than to beat the shit out of us, of course she was polite but never hung out with anyone but Rob.”

I nodded for him to go on. “Yeah, then Bowie came into the picture. She liked him, and we were all shocked she would give him the time of day. She would flirt and show off for him. I didn’t know why; he was not a shifter. He didn’t smell like a human. I honestly have no idea what he was, still don’t really.” Interesting I thought, he didn’t know Bowie was a Dhamir. Marcus went on. “Yeah, Rob hated it. Lilith, she started to become withdrawn, and like when Rob had to beat her to get to shift, we all noticed she started wearing long sleeves and pants again.”

“None of us spoke to her about it, I know Tate tried to once and she beat him so bad that no one attempted it again, she has always had a wicked temper. It is actually kind of weird to see her so calm and happy here. Anyways, but she was different with Bowie, her clothing and random bandages. Then one Bowie was gone, I didn’t know what happened, other than he was in jail then prison. Lilith when we saw her looked like she had been run over by a truck. It was bad, she leaned on Rob more than anything, even went back to staying with him for like three months.”

“Then things just stopped being bad, Rob went to every one of her sports events. She stuck to her routine, got even better at stealing things, the cars and bikes she brought into my old shop were top tier, and she brought in so many. Even raced with some of them before turning them in. She is a master at pickpocketing. Rob used her at the illegal fights, she is so skilled. She kept training and working and just became a lethal. Rob kept doting on her, like none of us were as important as Lilith. I have a feeling he despise you for taking away his favorite person and his best criminal in his empire. That is all I know.” I nodded.

“Thanks for telling me all of that.” I said and he shrugged. “I will say Alpha with her being here she has become different. More open and generally seems happier. Tate, Percy, and I can all see it.” I looked at Marcus. “So, you nothing about her father then?” Marcus just shook his head and said. “Lilith tended to only tell Rob things, I am sure she told Bowie too, seeing as they dated. But I don’t know more than I told you.” Noel looked at me. I knew he was trying to analyze my face. “Again, thankyou Marcus for telling us all that. And as much as I hate that you beat your Luna I understand. You may go now. Noel and I need to discuss things.” He nodded and stood.

As he walked to the door of my office I said, “Only speak of this to Tate and Percy, your mates can’t even know this.” Marcus looked upset but then nodded and left. I turned to Noel. “That is wild.” Was the first thing that came out of his mouth. I agreed whole heartedly. “I made sure the pack didn’t come to the garage and stayed out of the woods when Axel and Kali ran. A lot wanted to know what all the screaming was about, but I told the pack to stay away other than Marcus. Knowing what Tate and Percy know if they heard Lilith, they probably knew what was going on.” I said, “Thankyou Noel and you were right to call Marcus.” He gave me a small smile.

“So how bad of a shape is she in?” Noel asked. “She looks bad, broken ribs, two black eyes, broken nose and her neck looks bad from where Axel shook Kali. She can’t go to school for a while. You know she doesn’t heal as well as we do. It will take longer but she will be okay.” Noel looked sad, I didn’t know if it was sorrow about Lilith or if it was, he couldn’t get back to high school. Lilith texted me that now Noel and Juliet were in a relationship. I didn’t need to worry about this now though I had more important things to worry about.

Like why had Lilith fought her wolf? Was it because she wanted to be herself as she thought about her dad? Then me telling Kali to help her. Did that make her force the shift. I didn’t know what else to do, she was not talking or even getting out of my car. She just stared at those two photos. I rubbed my face. “I need to go shower and check on my mate, thanks Noel for everything.” He nodded.
