70. Rob's Past
Eric
I rubbed my temples. I was still on the phone with Noah. I had Roxie doing so many things, one of them was digging up information on Rob. It was hard to find out which pack he came from. But she finally did and with even more work these past few weeks she found his old alpha’s information, Noah. I had her start on this once I had met Rob. I wanted to know what he had done to become a Rogue and man; did he have a rap sheet.
He had come from the Auburn Pack, which was on a whole other continent. The thick accent of Noah made me wonder if Rob had originally had one, and he was just acting as a chameleon to get further ahead in this country. Noah had told me of his crimes, that resulted in him being kicked out and becoming a rogue. Noah had obviously given him more chances than I would have. He had been kicked out the second he turned 18. That was how bad he was.
But, why? I didn’t understand why he was so horrible. His wolf was not black, and he had no inclination to be the way he had been, or currently is. Then again what drove people to be serial killers, there was no one reason. It could have been his brain chemistry, it could be how he was raised, though from what Noah told me his parents were good people. “I will skin him alive if he fucking steps a foot on this continent, in fact if you want Alpha Eric, it would be my pleasure to come there and rid you of that trash. I wanted to do it when he reached 18, but his mother begged for me to just make him a rogue.”
Noah continued “His mother was so sweet, not a great fighter, but just sweet, so for her sake I let him live, but he is a fucking psycho, do you know when he was five he killed a squirrel and yeah you could say it was maybe a boy thing, but he took a kitchen knife to it and removed the innards and chased a three-year-old girl with it. Oh, and then you want to know what the sick fuck did?” I didn’t want to know. I had no doubt it was gross. I didn’t even want to hear he had done that. But that didn’t stop Noah from telling me. “He made the girl eat it.”
My stomach turned. I felt queasy what kind of child does that? “He is a psycho; I would kill him as soon as possible. He got better when he was older about knowing how to manipulate things. It became a real problem; you know he made a gang in our pack? A fucking gang, and they didn’t even care about money it was just committing crimes. The problem was, those he brought into his little group, didn’t want to do it. He had manipulated them. He threatened them and he only had to follow through once and they fell in line. Disgusting. My advice Kill him, I don’t know if those under him want to do his dirty work for him or not, but if they genuinely like him, kill them too.”
I had not told him that Lilith had been practically raised by the man. With the way Noah clearly felt toward Rob, I worried he would want her dead to. “Noah, do you have Draco wolves over there?”
I wanted to know if Rob had learned of them while he was in his home country or if he had discovered of their existence once coming to America. “We have had a few, but those fuckers are dead, we kill them if we see them. Here I think they are extinct. I bet Rob would love to get with them, they could all be sick together.” I paused “Do you know if Rob ever met any of them?” I asked. “Unfortunately, yes. He did he brought one back to the pack actually. We killed her, on the spot and he was livid. But before you even ask it was not his mate.” I had not even thought of that. Did Rob ever have a mate, I was curious, seeing as he told Lilith she was to be his wife, despite the fact that she was mated to me. “I think you know what my next question will be, Noah.” He responded, “You want to know if he had a mate?” “yes” I could hear him breathing heavily. He was choked up as he said “Yes, he did have a mate.” He started breathing harder through the phone.
“It was horrible, he was mated to my daughter. They found out they were mates when he was 17 and she was 16.” The tone in his voice told me everything, I knew this was not going to be good. “What happened?” I asked tentatively. “He fucking killed her.” My stomach dropped. How the hell was he alive if he killed the alpha’s daughter. “There was no evidence that it was him, but I know it was. I would have killed him then if there had been concrete evidence, but I know it was him, there is not a doubt in my mind.” How could someone do that.
“That is what I am telling you Alpha Eric from one alpha to another, he is a fucking monster.” I took a deep breath. “He has a Dhamir who is working for him.” I could hear a loud crash from the other side of the phone. “That fucking cunt, How the hell did he manage that? Those fucking vampires are supposed to be extinct.” I waited for the crashing to stop. It was evident that Alpha Noah hated Rob’s guts. I hated him as well, but not to this extent. Then again Rob killed his daughter, according to him, so it is no wonder the subject of what Rob had would infuriate him.
“Unfortunately, that is what we are dealing with, Noah you should know he has never been to our pack lands, nor does he know where we are.” Noah then said “I mean no offense to you Alpha Eric, but he probably does know where you are. I wouldn’t be surprised if he is just getting things in place to do something to your pack. I mean he obviously is a threat if you had to track me down to get information on the sucmbag. If he wants something you have, or just wants to hurt any of your pack, he will attempt it.” I clenched my teeth at the thought.
“So, I am wondering are you going to clarify why you needed to know about him. I know I have been ranting of his atrocities' while he was here. But you said his name and wanted information, and I just went into a tangent. That is not my normal response to things, but he is well I have told you.” I didn’t think I should give him to many details. I didn’t need him to know that Lilith was a Draco wolf. But I did think he needed some kind of information, seeing as I had called him, and he had been so forthcoming about Rob’s past.
“He is interested in my mate and Luna.” That I thought was enough information. Noah was silent for a while and then said, “If that is the case, keep her close, don’t let her out of your sight. Rob is smart another attribute I would admire in anyone but him. He is not only smart but strong. One of the strongest shifters I have ever met. Rob, he doesn’t do rules, he won’t challenge you, he will be deceptive. He will do things underhanded; I think it is because he knows alphas are stronger. But, if it is our kids, especially our girls, even if they are of alpha blood he has a good chance of overpowering them. But I think that is because they are not full alpha you know?” I nodded I could understand that.
“But I am telling you Alpha Eric if he has his sights set on her, he will do everything to get to her. You have to kill him if he wants her. Like I told you I would have if I was not thinking of his mother. I wanted to kill him when my daughter.” His voice felt rough as he said “Daughter”, and he paused before going on. “I wanted to kill him, but there was no evidence, and he was not an adult, I couldn’t challenge him at the time. Despite the desire. Plus, we don’t kill shifters underaged here, so there was that as well. But had I had evidence I would have, I wish I could have, and still do.”
I nodded; despite the fact Noah couldn’t see me. “I don’t know what to tell you about the Dhamir, but if he has one of those, it will be hard. If you get an opportunity, take him out. But, if you can’t with the Dhamir around you need to figure something out. Your mate will not be safe until he is rotting somewhere. He will never stop if he wants her, and I am sure of that. He was a kid when he was here, so he never really showed what he wanted. But he probably has decided what he wants from life by now, and that is concerning.” I rubbed my temples again. This was frustrating.
“I hope your Luna knows how to fight, but I honestly don’t think that will be enough. In the past he has never been overpowered by a female.” I absent mindedly said “He trained my mate she is his equal as far as skill.” Fuck, I internally said. I had not meant to tell Noah that. “He what?” I was quiet. “So, you are leaving things out I see.” I sighed. “It is not like that, my mate she was in foster care, and he was like a surrogate father and taught her everything, she has turned from him now, and he came out and admitted his intentions with her. He has been grooming her since she was a kid. But my mate she is a great fighter in both wolf and human form. She is most likely, in my opinion, he equal, as far as strength and skill as Rob.”
“I would be hesitant to let someone raised by that creatin to be living under my roof.” I rolled my neck. “Alpha Noah she has no ill intentions of that I am positive, she is not in league with him.” He responded. “You can’t be too sure.” I knew his opinion and I felt a desire to defend Lilith. “If she was, she would not be making sure the whole pack can keep up with her level of training. She is improving their strength and that speaks volumes, if she wanted to destroy us on his orders, she wouldn’t do that.” He responded with a much better tone. “I am surprised, but yes, now that you said that I agree she can’t be working for him. Rob would never allow that; he likes people to be weaker than him.” I smiled.
We talked a little while longer, and he asked that I keep him updated and maybe even suggested that we should get together in person at some point. Overall, it was a good bond we formed. I wouldn’t be inviting him here though, not with his thoughts on black wolves. He needed to not try and kill Lilith on the spot. I leaned back in the chair, I needed to tell Lilith and Noel about all of this and repeating it all sounded like a shit show.
