48. Formality is Overrated

Lilith

School was how it normally went nothing in insane happened. It seemed like Polly still thought we were friends. One day and it was back to normal. No one was making fun of the queen bee anymore and everything was how it had seemed the week before. I kept mind linking Noel throughout the day just because I could. It was so weird and when Kali had spoken to Noel his face went white. I knew she was a lot to get used to.

Training had been good yesterday, well not really good, everyone was still in piss poor condition and needed a lot of work, but it was nice to see that the punching bags I purchased had held up one session with the pack. It occurred to me while I was standing between Noel and Eric that I had committed no crime since Monday, and it was now Wednesday. Kali chimed in “Well other than ripping off the service station to get our snacks.” I slightly laughed thinking I had forgotten that.

“You committed a lot of crimes Monday, so I am at ease, don’t worry Lilith. Besides the running last night was like 6 hours, I loved it so thank you.” Was Kali actually happy for once. That surprised me more than anything. “Oh, be quiet. I am not that hard to keep happy.” I snorted and Eric looked at me. I mind linked. “Kali, she is funny” He gave me a half smile. We were supposed to meet his sister today. “Eric, when is she going to be here, I am starving, and the Luna kicked our ass at training today.” Noel complained and I was fighting my laughter.

He looked at me. “Don’t even start that shit.” He scolded and I busted out laughing. Eric then spoke “What is so funny?” Noel looked to his brother while I was in hysterics. “Nothing, just training was hard after school.” He said but I shook my head laughing. “You don’t want to tell Eric about why it was so hard for you?” I couldn’t help but laugh more. “No, Lilith I don’t” I snorted again and continued to laugh. Noel thought he could wear something like I did. Which would have been fine if he got spandex shorts for men, but he had gotten my tiny cheer ones.

Noel mind linked me “I was trying to be more like you, you know show the pack that it wasn’t the end of the world to were stuff like you do.” I started laughing harder and mind linked him. “I think you did the opposite. But I must say Noel, me having to witness you move in those was hilarious. Maybe next time buy the ones for men so your nuts don't get cut off.” I was laughing harder now. Eric said. “What is so funny?” I looked at Noel who was beet red. “Tell him Noel someone else in the pack eventually will.” I encouraged.

Noel sighed “I wore Lilith's shorts to training today, they are not made for men and well shit hurt and got twisted.” I almost fell over I was laughing so hard. Eric was quiet for a long time and then he too burst out laughing. “I need pictures.” He called out over his waves of laughter. “Assholes.” Noel said. “Noel, come on after five minutes I had you go change, I can help you get better training clothes than basketball shorts, well at least better-looking ones.” I gave him a smile. “Yea all right.” I gave him a soft smile and Eric tried to regain his composure.

All three of us were laughing and having a goodtime in front of the packhouse waiting on Ellen, Eric and Noels oldest sister to arrive. Noel and I were both still in our workout attire, his pants now not cutting off blood flow to his legs since I had him go and change. When Eric looked up I did as well, and I saw a nice-looking red sedan. It pulled in front of the packhouse, and I watched as a burly man who was middle aged got out of the driver's side. I mind linked both Noel and Eric. “I didn’t think your sister would look like that.” Noel busted out laughing and Eric was choking back a laugh as the man walked around and opened the rear passenger door.

She emerged. Her dirty blond hair had been perfectly styled in soft large curls. Her light pink dress showed she had a figure, but it was not hugging her. She was beautiful. She reminded me of a blond Kate Middleton. She walked up to the three of us. I took note that unlike her brothers who had brown eyes she had blue ones. The three of them had the same dirty blond hair. She stopped in front of me, and I felt her gaze as she looked down at me. Eric was the first to hug her.

Noel went to and she held up her hand. “I love you baby brother, but you are covered in sweat, and this is Prada.” Kali spoke to me in my head. “Prada wow, someone is important. We have nothing Prada maybe?” I cut off my wolf “Kali, no stealing from Ellen, or anyone here if you want Prada so bad we can go to the city.” I heard Kali laughing in my head. I gave Ellen a smile. “So, you are Lilith, my brothers' mate?” she asked tilting her head. “Yeah, that is me.” I offered her a smile. “Noel show Henry to my room so he can bring my things up.”

Noel I could tell didn’t want to. He should have time with his sister I spoke up. “I will show Henry.” I said, I assumed that was the man who had driven her and was now opening the trunk, I went to take a step. Ellen said. “I told Noel to, not you Lilith.” I stopped turned to look at her. “Ellen, I understand you are no longer a part of Grey Crest Pack, you do not give my pack orders, and Noel is in my pack. Eric and I tell others what to do not you. Now I will be showing Henry where you will be staying.” I turned and walked away, and I heard both Eric and Noel snickering.

I showed Henry to the room Eric had said was Ellens when she stayed here. Then headed back downstairs. Kali said. “Good job by the way putting her in her place, she can’t just come here and act like she is in charge.” I agreed with Kali, I was the Luna here and although I had never been a leader, I found that I liked it. Granted all I had been doing recently was teaching how to fight and stay fit, but I had plans. So many of them. I walked into the room and saw that Eric was sitting in a chair alone. I didn’t want to sit far from him so like I had plenty of times before I fell into his lap and he kissed me. There was a loud cough that I ignored until someone yelled. “This is not appropriate.” Eric and I stopped kissing for a second to look at Ellen.

Noel I could tell was trying not to laugh. I think he liked seeing his sister all ruffled. I didn’t say anything to Ellen, but I remained seated in my mates lap and looked at her. “What is for dinner?” She asked. Noel answered. “Tamales.” She then looked at her brother like he had gone insane. “Tamales, that is street food.” Okay, so high maintenance She went on. “Since when did you to start eating like you have no social standing?” She looked at me. “Hey, I don’t make the menus. I eat what Noel and Eric choose.” Eric mind linked me. “Yeah thankyou for that, I always hated having no say in the dinner menu, it is one thing I like to do, and Noel too takes part in it.”

I smiled. I liked that I could do that for him. He had been making his menu since he became alpha and what he picked to be cooked was delicious. I know that normally was the Luna’s job to decide meals for the packhouse, but I didn’t care. “Well while I am here I can make menus. And Lilith I can teach you the proper way to run the packhouse, I know you were not brought up in a pack and you really don’t know all that is expected of you. But, I know most of your duties will have to wait until after this school year.”

I responded. “Yeah, Ellen that isn’t going to fucking happen. I like the food here, I also like how things are ran. I don’t need any fucking help as of right now. But thanks anyway. I think it is best if you use your time here to spend time with your family rather than trying to become my teacher.” Noel couldn’t hold it in he busted out laughing falling out of his chair. No wonder first Ellen’s face was shock at my language then her expression turned sour as I put her in her place. “Now should we go eat, I fucking love Tamales, and then maybe an hour a run? Kali wants to play hide and seek.”

Kali was cheering in my head. She loved hide and seek. Not to mention I had been bitchy, she also loved that. It had not been my intention to be that way, but this was my home, and I was not going to go back to how I felt living with Missy, my mother. Noel got up and I hoped off Eric who stood behind me. “Ellen have you ever even tried it?” I asked her and she shook her head. “Trust me you will like it.” I offered her a smile before taking Eric’s hand and heading for the kitchen. The three of us sat at the table and again Ellen was puzzled. “Eric when did you stop taking meals in the dining room?”

“Since you left.” He said nonchalantly. I knew Eric didn’t like everything to be so formal, he liked acting like a normal person, rather than nobility. It was a good approach I thought. She took a seat next to Noel. I could tell she was so disoriented by all the changes. I wondered how hard it had to be living the way she seemed to with all these rules and regulations. “So, Ellen you down for hide and seek?” I asked. Maybe I could help her, I don’t know, become more normal. “I haven’t played that since my boys were little.” I smiled. “Then it will be fun, my wolf loves it.” She nodded.
