13. First Fight

Eric’s Pov

Lilith and I had to sneak back into the packhouse. I didn’t want to explain to anyone why my mate’s wolf bit Axel. Lilith took me back to our room where she asked me to sit on the bed. Running into the ensuite bathroom. She came back with a wet washcloth and began to wipe my neck. I knew it would be all healed soon enough. “What happened?” She asked me. “Kali didn’t like that Axel didn’t force me to shift, she missed him and was angry because she had to wait on us. So, she lashed out.”

Lilith looked upset. “Lilith it is fine. Axel is fine, I am fine, I think the best thing to do is make sure we form a new routine for you and Kali. You seemed to have some sort of hold on her in the city, right?” She looked away and then nodded. “Okay so let’s see what does she like to keep her happy?” I asked. I figured if we could figure out how to manage her wolf then the pack would understand and not be so upset. We just had to prove it to them. “Crime.” Lilith blurted out. “Yes, I know that one anything else?”

“Violence, exertion, Axel, and now the woods.” Ok, that seemed doable. “Well, I think we need to steer away from the crime.” Lilith said nothing but bit her bottom lip. “About physical activity, you will no doubt be staying in sports at your school. Then if you have time you can train with the shifters in the pack after school or in the morning, though I think morning training may be hard for you seeing as you have to leave early to get to school on time. But it is not just training, we mix in fighting as well. As far as time with Axel we can make time for that every day. They can run together and have their time together too. That way she will know she is getting it every day. And it should make her calmer, she knew you would run her everyday unless something came up right?”

“Yeah, she did, I only didn’t when I had something I had to do, like if a game ran late or a party or something, but even with those she still got in 30 minuets to be out.” I looked at her. Most shifters I knew did not spend that much time as their wolf. Maybe once a week but not every day. Perhaps that is why she has been able to manage Kali as much as she has. I paused but I needed to say it “Lilith you probably already know this, but your father most likely raped your mother because of his wolf right.”

Lilith nodded. I went back to the previous subject. “So, what do you think about the plan?” She smiled. “It sounds good I guess.” “Good, I also think we should wait for you to join the pack.” I was worried how she was going to take this. On the way here, I told her about being in a pack and she seemed so excited to be a part of something like this. Her face fell. “I want you in Grey Crest, you know that. We are mated both with our wolfs side and humans, so you are still luna and your place is here.” Lilith looked at me. Her eyes were a mix of fire and sorrow.

I had to continue to have this conversation though. “Kali will make the pack nervous. Being a draco wolf.” Lilith cut me off yelling “I am not from that fucking pack. I was born in the city; I have never been in a pack. You told me to come here when I didn’t want to. You are the one who went on and on about packs. You mated with me after you saw what Kali looked like, now you are putting me in a bubble. Saying I am still the Luna, but I can’t be part of the Grey Crest Pack. What the hell is wrong with you? I should have listened to Rob. He warned me. He fucking warned me. I have been an idiot. I should have just taken his advice and stayed away.”

“I have fought off Kali’s nature for five years I could have fought off this bond too. You know what take me back to the city. I will stay with Rob, until I get my own place.” She seethed. I think she just got to her breaking point. I reached my arm out to touch Lilith, but she pulled away, and I could see the conflict in her eyes. “It is just for a couple of weeks, I am not asking you to hide Kali, at all. But I want the pack to see you not like the rest of the draco wolves. If they see that they will not be in a panic. I am their alpha their feelings matter and as their luna you should care about those as well.”

Lilith turned away from me. “Lilith?” She crossed her arms. “Leave me be for a while.” She stormed from the room. I fell back on the bed with only Axel to talk to. “Axel, was I wrong in what I asked? Was it too much to tell her about what I knew about Kali?” Axel responded. “Eric, you did what you had to. She will come around. She just needs to calm down. Kali may have been the reason for her outburst.” I lay there thinking about it. “Lilith was calmer before Kali took control. I think she is just a little overwhelmed, you know new place, not her usual thing, it is all new to her. She will calm down and come around.” I hoped he was right.

I lay there for hours waiting for Lilith to come back. She finally did and I was relieved. I sat up. “I am sorry I lost my temper. I am not used to having anyone request something from me. I mean Rob does, but not really, it is more helpful than anything. And he doesn’t demand me to do anything, so it is my choice. I get where you are coming from. I can wait a few weeks. I am sorry again; Kali was upset, and I projected that. But really, I am okay. Once I get into a schedule, I am more myself. Just a lot of changes recently.” She gave me a soft smile. “I am sure everything will work out. I tend to like routine and am not very good with change. I also like to do as I please, I always have.”

I nodded understanding where she was coming from. I pulled her onto my lap and kissed her perfect light red lips. “Besides you can’t go back to the city. What would Noel do without you?” I cracked the joke and Lilith laughed. Slapping my chest. “Hey I like him.” I raised my eyebrows. “Don’t tell him that. He already wants to be your shadow. If you tell him, you like him, he will never leave your side.” Lilith laughed.

The night had slipped through our fingers. We had fought and Lilith had not returned until right before dawn and the sun was already beginning to rise. Lilith looked at the window with the sun peeking through. “We should get some sleep. I am sure you will want a tour around the Pack areas in a little bit.” Lilith smiled.

“Eric, what did you think I was doing when I rushed from the room?” I didn’t think she seriously saw everything. “Did you see the town?” She nodded. “The training field?” another nod. “I bet you didn’t find the lake?” Lilith then nodded again. “How did you see all of it in just hours?” She looked at me and said “Eric, I lived in a city for the past 18 years do you really think I am unaccustomed to walking everywhere and making good time.” I smiled at her. She amazed me. “So, what should we do with our day then?” A smirk fell upon her perfect lips.
