The sound of the microwave made them back to their senses.
Drake quickly turned his back and then sat on the chair and then took out his mobile phone. He acted as if he was checking something on it while Harmony went to the microwave and took out the food that she heated for Drake.
Silence was between the two of them until Harmony was able to serve the food.
Harmony bowed her head as she sat down to the chair in front of Drake.
She felt embarrassed because she even closed her eyes. As if she was really waiting for Drake to kiss her.
She shook her head. She turned away the thoughts that were running inside her head. How did she react like that?
"Harmony, th--- there"s something that I want to tell you," Drake said as he broke the silence that the between the two of them.
She lifted her head as she felt her heartbeat beating so fast. She couldn"t help but wonder what the man was about to say.
Was it the reason why he went in this kind of hour in their house?
She raised one of her eyebrows while looking at him.
"Finish your food first and then we can talk about it," she said. She was hoping that Drake wouldn"t insist because she didn"t know what to do or what to say just in case, he would say something that would shock her.
"So, how"s grandma?" She asked the man.
"She"s okay. I think you really did catch her heart, she is actually so fond of you," he said and then he continued eating.
"Yes, maybe because I know the play her favourite song in the piano," she said and then smiled at the man.
"Probably," he said and then drink a glass of water.
"She"s the only one who express likeness with my presence, and I am so thankful because she is there for us," Harmony said to Drake. She knew that the man knew what she was talking about.
"Yes, I know. She"s the kind of grandmother that would support you in everything," he said and then he looked at her.
Harmony felt a bit uneasy because of how the man was looking at her. She couldn"t explain it but there was something in his stare which made her feel like there were butterflies in her stomach.
"So, tell me, what happened? Why are you here?" She asked when she saw that the man was already finish eating his food.
He smiled.
"Did I make you feel nervous?" He said in a mocking tone.
"Well , let"s say yes because my dad is around and if I only have to remind you that he hadn"t seen you yet. It us only mom who knew about you," she said and then she even looked at the door at her parents" room.
It didn"t escape her eyes when she saw Drake took a deep breath. His expression was as if he was in a situation that was so hard, and he didn"t know how to get out.
"Can we move to a different place?" He asked.
Harmony shook her head.
"I am sorry, but we are not allowed to get out. It"s already late and I am pretty sure that my dad wouldn"t allow us to do so. What"s happening? Why couldn"t you say it now?" She asked full of wonder.
This was not the kind of Drake she knew.
Drake was bold and he was not scared with anything or with anyone.
"Let"s just go in the living room," he said and then he stood up. Drake headed in the living room and then he sat down in the couch.
Harmony"s eyebrows were drawn together while looking at the man"s broad shoulders.
He was acting really weird and that made her feel nervous.
She closed her eyes and let out a deep sigh. She followed him and then she sat down to the couch that was in front of him.
"What happened, Drake? Why are you acting so strange? I am sorry but I haven"t seen you for today and you went here in this kind of hour, I don"t really know what to think of," she said as she couldn"t held herself from talking anymore.
Her heart was already pounding so fast because of the suspense that Drake was giving.
She looked at him directly in his eyes and then his face. He looked like he was not hurt physically so she couldn"t stop thinking but probably something happened in the mansion.
She couldn"t understand why the rich still have arguments when they all have all the things in the world that money could buy. Unfortunately, she was also well aware that despite of their wealth, Drake"s family failed to understand each other.
"Hey, what?" She said as her eyes widened because the man was just there and looking at her. He was not speaking.
"I am sorry. I am trying to think of the word that I could use but I cannot think of any," he said and his tone was upset.
But she couldn"t determine to whom he was upset or why he was upset.
Her gaze was still at him.
"What happened? Why didn"t you visit me for the past two days?" She asked him again. "Let"s start with those question," she added.
She could tell that Drake was having some difficulty to express himself. This was not the Drake that he met at the coffee shop and offered her to be his girlfriend. So, she couldn"t understand why he was acting like this.
The Drake that she knew was bold and he wouldn"t be beating around the bush if he wanted to say something.
It took a couple of seconds, and the silence was between the two of them. It was deafening and the only thing that she could hear was the sound of her heart that was pounding so fast.
"We need to get married."
