Chapter 61

"Are you alright? Is there something wrong?" Drake said as soon as he saw her walking to the hallway heading to the private room.
She just nodded.
Harmony suddenly felt like she wanted to cry. Earlier when she was in front of Paul, she could say that she looked fine. She didn"t mind what the man was saying but while she was inside the elevator, she thought of everything that happened between the two of them.
She couldn"t accept that the man went to her and asked her to talk to him.
What he was thinking about her? She was an easy woman who would be drooling in his feet even after that he had hurt her?
"Hey, Harmony, what"s wrong?" Drake held her hand to stop her and all of a sudden, she was unable to control herself.
She cried in his chest.
The tears continued to flow and she hadn"t answer Drake question yet. She felt like she had no strength to open her mouth and she had already ran out of words to say.
How could Paul quickly made her feel miserable? She was fine. She was totally doing okay until he came back in her life.
"Shh... It"s going to be okay. Your mom has been called by the doctor and they would already be talking about your father"s condition. Don"t cry, everything will be fine," the man said as he wrapped her hands to her and then he was slowly rubbing her hair.
Harmony couldn"t deny that she felt comforted because of what the man was doing. Drake had this comforting effect to her even if he wasn"t doing a lot of things for her, she felt the peace inside his arms. If she could only stay there forever, she would have done so.
Drake distanced her from his body and then he started to wipe her tears with his fingers.
"Tell me, what happened?" He said and then after her tears were wiped away, Drake guided her to sat down on the bench in the hallway. "Why do I have a feeling that you are crying not because of your dad"s situation?"
Her eyebrows knitted together as he looked at him.
"Don"t lie to me, Harmony. I know that you are crying because of something else. Tell me, what it is? Is Paul bothering you again?" He said and she couldn"t help but wonder how Drake knew about that.
She didn"t know how to react because of the confusion that she was feeling inside of her. Why could she sense something in Drake"s tone? Was he mad because of her talking with Paul? But she didn"t speak to him? In fact, she pushed him away. She left him without a word just like what he did at the coffee shop where she met Drake.
Well, she was at least thankful of him because if he didn"t dump her then there would be no chance that he would be meeting one of the kindest man in the world, Drake.
So, Harmony decided to nod her head. She had to be honest with Drake.
"Yes, I mean, I didn"t talk to him. I tried to push him away but he kept insisting that he wanted to talk to me," she said in a crack voice. She couldn"t help but feel angry for the man to act as if he didn"t do anything to break her apart a couple of months ago. "I am sorry. I was hurt and I can say that I am still in pain. So, how could he come to me and ask me to talk to him?" She added full of bitterness in her voice.
"I know and I understand what you feel. If he comes again, call me and I will give him what he is looking for," Drake said and Harmony felt scare because of the look that the man was giving her. It seemed like he was angry at Paul. But why?
"I don"t like you talking with that man, Harmony. Can you promise me that you would no longer talk to him?" Drake even said which made her dumbfounded.
"What do you mean?"
"I just do not like you to get hurt again," he said, and Harmony could see something in his eyes which she couldn"t explain.
"Look, Harmony, I know I am not in the position to stop you but if your father and your mother would know what that man did to you then I am pretty sure that they wouldn"t be happy," he said which made a sense.
She knew that she couldn"t make her parents upset.
"I wouldn"t talk to him or even let him go near me. Thank you, Drake. I don"t know how can I repay you because you have done a lot of things for me already," she said and then she forced a smile in her lips.
"Just smile and just be happy," he said all of a sudden and Harmony found her heartbeat doubled than the normal speed.
Her eyebrows were drawn together as she looked at them. She couldn"t tell what was inside of him because of those eyes that didn"t show any emotions.
"Thank you," she only said and let out a deep breath. She couldn"t believe that she would find herself in this kind of situation.
"Don"t think about him. Just like what I have said, give me a call if he started to bother you again," Drake said and then he put the strand of her hair from her face at the back of her ears.
She just nodded to him.
Harmony felt like Drake was her knight in shining armour. The man was always there whenever she needed him.
She couldn"t ask for anything else since the man came in her life. Her heart was beating so fast whenever he was around her and there were like butterflies inside her stomach which she couldn"t explain.
She didn"t want to think that she was feeling something for the man.
