Chapter 70
Drake was looking at Harmony while he was asking her.
He never thought that he would be looking at the woman this way. Everything about her, in his eyes, was just perfect. He felt like he was enchanted by her beauty.
And, there was an urge for him to kiss her when his gaze landed to her red luscious lips. She had not applied a lipstick and yet her lips were red like roses. It was as if inviting him for a kiss.
He blinked his eyes to turn away the thoughts that were starting to run inside his head.
This wasn"t right. They had a rule in their contract that they couldn"t fall for each other. And, he couldn"t believe that he would be breaking that.
Aside from that, it was obvious that Harmony hadn"t been able to move on from Paul. She even believed that the man couldn"t hurt her just like what he was thinking.
He had to guard his heart before what he was feeling grow stronger and, in the end, he would get hurt.
Drake didn"t want to feel the pain anymore.
He couldn"t imagine himself getting hurt because of a woman. He had a reputation of being a playboy so he couldn"t allow what he was feeling to change that.
"Well, I think your girlfriend deserves that kind of treatment," Harmony said which brought him back to his senses. "If you know what I mean," she continued.
"Oh, yeah, right," he said and then nodded his head. He didn"t say anything else so that the conversation would not continue.
"Harmony, sweetie, can you get the hair dryer for me, please?" Miss Catalina shouted inside the washroom.
He was silently grateful because that distracted them from talking. He didn"t know why but he felt suddenly uncomfortable.
After a couple of minutes, there were several knocks again and the door suddenly opened.
It was the doctors, nurses and the assistants who were with Harmony"s father.
"Where is the family of the patient?" The doctor asked him.
But before he could even answer, Harmony and her mother were already walking back to their direction.
"Hi, Doc. How is everything?" Miss Catalina asked as soon as she got near them. Then, she looked at her husband who was being transferred in the hospital bed. This time, it was only the oxygen that was connected to him. It seemed like to be a good indication that the surgery was successful because he didn"t need to have any life support anymore.
Drake looked at Harmony and he couldn"t deny that he was seeing a different kind of happiness in her face.
"Thank you so much, Doc. I know you did your best to save my husband," Miss Catalina said.
"Yes, Miss. So, your husband is okay now but please even if he is already in the stable condition, he still have to be careful. No extracurricular activities for him. He needs to rest," the doctor said to Harmony"s mother. "He already have a stronger heart but he is still weak so we still need to be careful."
"Okay, doc. So, are we still staying here for the rest of the month?" Her mother asked.
"Actually, I am discussing that to my colleagues. I think you should be okay to go home but you have to make sure you have the proper equipment"s for him and a dedicated room where he could stay," the doctor said and he saw the relieved that crossed Harmony and Miss Catalina"s face.
"Oh, that"s a great news," her mother said while looking at the doctor.
"Well, it"s still discussion," he said. "But let"s pray and on top of that you will have to sign a waiver that you voluntarily take the patient home."
"That shouldn"t be no problem," Miss Catalina continued.
"Okay then, I will tell the nurse everything that you needed to do while you are here," he said and then he went out of the room.
"Did you hear what the doctor said, sweetie?" She faced Harmony who was already in the side of the hospital bed and looking at her father.
"That"s great, mom. Look at dad. He looks pale but definitely better," she said and Drake could feel the trace of happiness in her voice.
"Thank you so much to you, Drake. Everything had been possible because of your help. I really thank you for trusting us and we promise that we will be giving back to you what we owe you," her mother said while looking at the man.
"Miss Catalina, don"t worry about the money now. I am happy that your husband is already out of danger. And, think of it that I am doing it because I am part of your family and I am not anymore just someone for you, guys," Drake said which made Harmony frowned.
"Yeah, right. Thank you so much, Drake. Of course, I am looking forward for you to be my official son-in-law," she said which made him and Harmony coughed. "Oh, I am sorry but that"s no pressure."
"Oh, right, no pressure," he said and then chuckled while he looked at Harmony with meaning. He haven"t told Miss Catalina yet about the proposal that he wanted to do during his grandmother"s birthday. He didn"t had any chance yet since there were a lot of things that happened.
Harmon coughed as he didn"t notice that he had been staring at her for a long time already.
"Drake, I am going to melt. Relax," the woman said which made him come back to his senses.
"Silly, what do you want for lunch? Let me get one for you and Miss Catalina," he said instead as he was trying to divert their attention.
"Well, I guess, I will just go with you so I can think of what I want to eat while we are heading to the restaurant," Harmony said to him.
"I think that"s a great idea. So, shall we?" He asked and the stood up from his seat.
