Chapter 94

Harmony just dressed so simple for the night. Finally, the night that everyone was waiting for came. It was Drake"s grandmother"s birthday.
She was wearing a black midi dress. She just put a pair of gold heart-shaped stud earrings and also she wore a necklace with a heart pendant.
She didn"t know if she was excited because her heart was beating so fast inside her chest or if she was nervous because something might happen tonight at the party.
Harmony couldn"t understand why she was feeling a little bit strange.
She let out a deep sigh and then she continued preparing herself.
She just applied loose powder and a pin lip tint. She just looked so simple and yet classy. Just like the first time that Drake had introduce her to his parents. The first time that almost the last time because she didn"t overlook their insulting words for Drake.
Harmony couldn"t understand himself but there was really something strange which she couldn"t explain. It was just so weird, but she shook her head and tried to focus with her preparation.
So, she was wearing a simple dress and so she decided to pair it with a pair of one-inch wedge shoes.
She took her small purse with a gold strap at the top of the table. Then she gave herself a look in the mirror.
She chose to French bun her hair with some strands left on both sides.
She was pleased on what she had seen, and she could say that she was ready to go.
Harmony was about to go out of her room when she heard a couple of knocks on the door from outside.
"Harmony," it was her mother. "What"s taking you so long, sweetie? You might get late for the party."
Her mom wouldn"t come with her since her father was still sick and the doctor advised them to stay home.
Drake understood it but as promised, she would be coming even if her parents wouldn"t be able to come.
Suddenly, her heart started to hammer inside her chest. Her heartbeat increased twice than the normal speed. She could feel that her rib cage might collapse as she could hear the deafening sound as her heart pounded.
"Yes, mom. I am going out," she said and then for the last time, she gave herself a final look. Then, she took a deep breath.
There"s no way that she wouldn"t attend this party. She didn"t have the heart to fail Drake. The man who had given everything that she needed without waiting for any exchange.
She shook her head. She couldn"t believe how her relationship was now with Drake. It was so far from the contract and from the first meeting that they had.
She never thought that everything would turn out like this, though she had not said anything yet to the man about what she was feeling towards him.
She didn"t want him to think that she was just easy to get. So, she preferred to keep it for now to herself.
Finally, she took her step and opened the door. She came out of her room and then she went straight to their living room.
She held her breath when she saw the man sitting on their couch.
Harmony knew that he was handsome yet, he was breathtakingly handsome that night.
She wanted to pinch herself if she was not dreaming.
Drake had his hair in a brush up style and she wouldn"t deny that exposed the man"s beautiful face. His pointed nose was so clear in her eyes and his expressive eyes.
A sound of a cough brought her back to her senses.
"You look so beautiful," Drake said as he stood up and then he was smiling at her from ear to ear. He almost dropped his jaw when he saw her out of her room.
Harmony shook her head as if she couldn"t believe with the words that Drake uttered.
"Silly, this is just a dress and a loose powder," she said while smiling at the man.
"Yes, that"s it. You look so naturally beautiful. You don"t need any colour to catch my attention or anyone else. I don"t know what word to use to describe you tonight," he said while his gaze was still on her.
"Oh, that"s so much flowery words, Drake," she said and then she looked at him intently. "So, you look dashing tonight."
"Thank you," he said and then Harmony walked near him.
"Will you be my date tonight?" Drake said and then her mom and Drake chuckled.
She shook her head.
"Am I not yet?" She asked instead.
Drake smiled at her which made her see his perfect set of white teeth. How wouldn"t she breach their contract if the man was making her heart skipped a beat every time he smiled?
"Whatever. Shall we go?"
She nodded.
"Mom, we will go now," she said and then she kissed her mother"s cheeks. "Please don"t wait for me if you are already sleepy. I have a spare key with me."
"Alright, please enjoy the night and don"t think about us here. We will be fine."
"Mom, but please text me or call me if you need anything, okay?"
"I will. Go now and Drake is waiting for you," her mother said, and she almost pushed her going to Drake.
"Mom?!" She said as she almost rolled her eyes. She knew that she liked Drake for her, but she was just reacting so much. She was thankful that she was not that transparent when it came about her feelings or else she could already imagine how her mom would tease her every time that Drake was around.
"I am sorry. You will be late so leave now," she said while smiling at Drake. "Drake, please be careful while driving and as much as possible don"t drink too much."
"Yes, Miss Catalina. Rest assured that I will bring back your daughter home safe and sound," he said and then he winked at her mother.
