Chapter 89

It didn"t take long, and Drake was finally at Harmony"s place. He could feel his heart beating so fast as he got closer to the house.
It had been a couple of days since he last saw the woman. Drake got out of the car excitedly.
He was whistling while he was walking to get inside the house.
He knocked a couple of times at the front door. He was hoping that he wouldn"t be disturbing Harmony"s father from resting.
He felt bad because he went to the house with empty-handed. He forgot that Harmony"s father was sick.
Drake thought that he should bought even just a basket of fruit.
He was about to turn around when the door opened.
"Where are you going?" Harmony said and her eyebrows were knitted together. It was as if she was surprised because he was leaving.
"Oh, to the nearby convenience store," he answered while scratching the back of his head.
"Have you forgot to buy something?" The woman asked while looking at him.
Drake wanted to pull her closer to him and locked her inside his arms. He wanted to hug her so tight and let her feel how much he missed her, but he couldn"t.
He had to control himself to avoid awkward moment with the woman. Also, he didn"t want Harmony to avoid him. So, he had to act normal like he never confessed what he was feeling towards her.
It was so hard and yet he had to make sure he wouldn"t be doing anything wrong until the day of his grandmother"s party.
Yes, he had to reserve everything that he was feeling for that day. He would make sure that it would be extra special for Harmony and his grandma. He was sure that his grandmother wouldn"t mind if he proposed to the woman at the day of her birthday.
"Hey, are you okay?" Harmony asked while looking at him. And her sweet voice brought him back to his senses.
"Y--- yes, I am sorry. I just feel ashamed all of a sudden. I went here and I don"t have anything in my hand with me. So, I want to go back and buy first even just a basket of fruits for your father," he said and then he turned his back to continue walking to his car.
"Silly, Dad has a lot of fruits already. I am sure no one would mind if you went here empty handed. You have done more than enough for our family," Harmony said while smiling at him.
Drake felt like the time stopped as well as the world stopped turning because of the smile that he was seeing from the woman"s face. Her beauty was mesmerizing. Drake felt like he was enchanted with her beauty.
"A--- are you sure? It"s fine if go back," he said and he wanted to scold himself for stuttering in front of the woman. He couldn"t believe that he was acting like a teenager boy who just met his long-time crush.
Drake couldn"t believe that this was happening to him.
He used to be chase by girls and he was not the woman who was chasing after them. But everything seemed to be different when it came to Harmony. He was the one who wanted to kneel in front of the woman and asked her to marry him.
It was the first time that he felt fear because he was afraid that Harmony would go back to Paul. For the first in his life, whether he would admit it or not, he knew to himself that he felt insecure towards the man.
That"s why he would make sure that he would be moving fast this time. He would make sure that Harmony would be choosing him over Paul. He wanted Harmony to realize that she was worth to be pursued. And Paul didn"t deserve her because the man just dropped her like a trash just what she was always saying to him. She was not a trash because she was someone that every man would be dreaming to have.
"Yes, it"s fine. There are a lot of food inside," she said and then she held his hand as she pulled him to the direction of the house.
Drake"s heart was hammering inside his chest. He felt like there were butterflies in his stomach and he couldn"t help but wonder if Harmony was aware of what she was doing to him.
Was she even aware how her touched affected him?
He felt like all of his body parts were alive as he felt the burning sensation inside his body. He took a deep breath to calm himself down. He had to behave since he was at the house of the woman. The last thing that he wanted was to get bad shot to her family and of course to her.
He just let Harmony to pull him as they got inside the house.
From there he saw Miss Catalina and the old woman smiled at him as soon as she saw him entering the house with Harmony. It looked like the woman was surprised to see him being pulled by her daughter.
"What happened? Why are you pulling Drake, Harmony?"
"Oh, this silly guy, already knocked but he was leaving when I saw him outside," Harmony said while he was standing next to her. "He wanted to go back and buy a basket of fruit since he realized that he didn"t bring anything for us and for dad."
"Oh, goodness, gracious, Drake. You have done so much already for our family. Please, don"t bother. There are a lot of food here which we can eat," Miss Catalina said while looking at him.
"See? I told him, mom. But he was really insisting so I pulled him going inside," Harmony explained while she rolled her eyes. It was as if she couldn"t believe on what he was about to do earlier when she saw him outside their house.
"I--- I am sorry, Miss Catalina. I just thought that about it last minute," he said.
"Why are you so early by the way?" Harmony couldn"t help but asked Drake. The man didn"t send her a message informing that he was on his way to their house. That"s why she was a bit surprise to see him outside when she opened the door.
"Oh, yeah. It had been a couple of days since I visit you that"s why I thought of coming here today," he said and then he looked down.
"What"s wrong? Is there a problem at your house?"
"No, there"s nothing. I just really wanted to see you. I mean your father. To check how he is doing and if there"s anything else that you needed," he said.
"I see. Please don"t worry about us. About my father, Drake. You have helped our family so much. I don"t know how to thank you for all the things that you have done to us. I don"t want to take advantage of your kindness," Harmony said and then she looked at her mother.
"Yes, my daughter is right. You have done more than enough for this family already, Drake. I don"t know how many times that I have already said this to you. You can come here with or without anything in your hand. You are very much welcome to our family," Harmony"s mother said.
Drake could feel the sincerity to the two women in front of him. And that more gave him the reasons to want to be a part of their family. He wanted to call Miss Catalina his mother and Harmony"s father, his dad as well. He couldn"t imagine how happy he could be if that was going to happen.
Especially now that his father could already understand him.
"Thank you, Miss Catalina and Harmony. But you cannot take that away from me because I am worried about you. I know also that anyone in my position would do that. No one would withheld his capability to help if they have the way to," Drake said while looking at Harmony and Miss Catalina. "I am sorry if I am insisting to help you but this is my choice. Miss Catalina, you have been so kind to me and Harmony as well. I cannot ask for anything else in this world because I am so lucky that I have met the two of you. One of the most wonderful women in the world," he said full of sincerity.
Drake was looking at the two people who were in the dining table.
"No, thank you, Drake you have such as big heart for everyone. I admire you because of that and how I wish there would be a lot of people that would be like you. Despite of how wealthy your family are, you still kept your feet on the ground," Miss Catalina said.
"Mom is right. To be honest, I never thought that you are like that until I started to spend a lot of time with you. At first I was really annoyed with you but now? I am one of the people who salute you because of having a big heart for others. I know that you also try to understand that people around you but sometimes those were taking advantage of your kindness and to be honest? I feel really bad for you," Harmony said. "I wanted to tell them that they were all wrong in everything that they were saying about you. But I choose to keep my mouth and let you fight your battle. I know that if you need me, you will call me," she added and then smiled at her.
"And, of course, you as well. You can call me if you need a back up and I am available twenty four seven," he said and they all laughed. "This is what I have missed when coming here," he added in between his laughter.
"Well, we miss you too. If you haven"t asked, Harmony was always asking if you have texted me or if you have come or if you said that you are dropping by," Miss Catalina said while mischievously smiling at him and Harmony.
"M--- mom?!" Harmony shouted and her eyes went round after she heard what her mom had said. "I couldn"t believe you. Why are you making a story?" She added. It was obvious that she was trying to hide the embarrassment that she was feeling because of what her mother said.
"What"s wrong? Drake is your boyfriend. So, he just know what are you feeling when he isn"t paying a visit so that he wouldn"t do it again because I am getting worried about you," Miss Catalina continued and then she was smiling naughtily at Drake.
"I couldn"t believe you, mom. How could you do this to me?" Harmony mumbled. Drake could see how her face was turning red because of embarrassment. He could see that the woman couldn't look at him directly in the eyes.
He was just smiling while he was looking intently at her. Drake was enjoying how Harmony was being teased by her mother.
