Chapter 44

"You have to marry me," Drake said again.
Harmony felt like her heart stopped from beating and if she was not sitting, she knew that she already fell on the couch where she was sitting.
Should she laugh or what? She didn"t know what to say.
"Is this some kind of a prank?" She asked Drake and then shook her head.
"No, I am pretty serious, Harmony," he said in a low but serious tone. "That"s why I wanted us to go to a different place and talk about this," he added.
She nodded. She knew that Drake was just being cautious since her parents were also at home.
She let out a deep sigh.
"Can"t we talk about it tomorrow?" She said while thinking what kind of situation she had put herself into. She couldn"t imagine if it was her mother who heard what Drake had said.
She was always reminding her to finish her master"s degree and then get a job after that she could get a house and that was the only time that she could think about getting married.
So, she couldn"t figure out what to say with Drake. She had a lot of dreams for herself so why all of a sudden, he was saying this to her.
Was he already in love with her and that"s why he didn"t visit her for the past two days because he wanted to check if he could go on a day without seeing her? He just realized that he couldn"t that"s why even if it was so late already, he drove at their house to tell her about what was inside his heart?
Harmony was fluttered because of everything that was running inside her mind. She didn"t know how she would react.
She looked at the man and she couldn"t help but imagine herself being his wife.
"What do you think? Can you go with me in a different place? I really need to tell you everything," he said which made her dumbfounded.
It"s seemed that the man had already his plans on how to tell her parents and his family with the marriage that he was offering to her. Innocent felt like she lost the strength to open her mouth because of everything that she was hearing from Drake.
How could he decide to get married when they only knew each other for a couple of weeks? Wasn"t he being so fast?
She let out a deep sigh. It looked like the man wouldn"t be sleeping if he wouldn"t be able to tell her everything that was inside his mind.
"Just wait for me there and I will check mom and dad if they are still awake. I just have to tell them that I am with you," she said and then she stood up from the couch where she was sitting. She didn"t wait for his response and headed to the door of the room where her parents were sleeping. She was hoping that they were still awake.
It took a couple of knocks before her mom opened the door.
"Sweetie, what"s up?" Her mother said in a sleepy voice.
"Mom, I am sorry to wake you up," she said and then she looked at her in the eyes. "Drake is here. We need to go out. He just needs someone to talk to."
Her mother was hesitant but when she pointed Drake to her she nodded.
"Okay, just make sure you will come back and tell him to drop you off here," she said to her. "I will just tell your dad."
"Thank you, mom," she said and then smiled at her. "Go back to sleep. I have the key with me."
"Okay, sweetie. Good night," she said and then she closed the door.
She went back to Drake, and she couldn"t help but think what was running inside his head.
She could feel that something was wrong. There was something that"s going on and that"s why he wanted to get married to her.
So, probably, the man was not really into her but it could be that marriage was the part of the resolution of the problem that he had.
"Let"s go. I already spoke to mom," she said and then she took her phone that was in the centre table.
"Thank you, Harmony," he said and then they both went out of the house.
They were already inside the car and it was as if Drake didn"t know where to go.
"Let"s just go at the park. I think we can talk there," she said and then smiled at him to lighten the mood.
"Right," he said and then he pulled over to go to the park.
"I don"t really know what happened, Drake but I cannot help but think a lot of things," she said as soon as the car stopped in front of the park.
"I will tell you everything," he said and then he unbuckled his seatbelt and then after that he did the same to her seatbelt.
She couldn"t help but smile because of how gentleman he was. She smelled again the fresh masculine scent of Drake. That just added to the thrilling sensation that she was feeling every time their skin touched each other.
How could Drake have this kind of effect on her? She never felt this way at Paul before. It was only Drake who introduced this kind of feeling to her.
She was about to close her eyes when she felt that Drake went out of the car. He turned around and then he opened the door on her side.
She smiled at him.
Harmony didn"t know what was going on to the man but all she knew was she wanted to help him in any way that she could do.
She and Drake went around the park until they saw a bench where they could sit down.
It was a starry night, and she could feel the cold breeze of the wind touching her face.
"So, what do you want to tell me?"
