Chapter 46

Drake found himself driving to nowhere after he went to Harmony"s place. He was already expecting her answer but still he felt like the whole world was on his shoulders.
How can his family put him in a situation like this? How could he marry a woman who he just barely knew?
He let out a deep sigh and hit the steering wheel with his hands.
He never thought that he would be in this kind of situation.
He was the only grandson that carried the last name of Villarama and he couldn"t believe that they were giving him a hard time to get what was rightfully his.
He was glad that before his grandfather died, he had already transferred fifteen percent of the shares in his name or else, he would really be having a tough life.
Sadly, his father didn"t have faith in him. Of all people, he was the one who doubted his capabilities despite graduating with flying colours. He took up business management even if it was against his will because he thought that he would be the heir of the company. He chose it instead of his passion of becoming a lawyer. He dropped his own dream to continue the legacy of the family but it looked like it was never appreciated by the family members.
Maybe if his mom wasn"t his mom at all, they would be okay with him.
He took a deep breath and calmed himself down.
Drake took his phone in the compartment.
He started to dial Leo"s number.
It took a couple of rings before his friend answered his call. Probably, there were a lot of people in his bar.
"Hello," he greeted as soon as the call got connected.
"Hey, what"s up man?" Leo answered on the other line.
"I will be dropping by," he said.
"Uh--- oh, sounds like something no so good happened," he said in a worried voice which made him chuckled.
"Wew! So you think that I only call you whenever I have problems?" He said in a teasing tone.
"Isn"t that the case?" Then, Leo laughed which made him shook his head.
"Anyway, I am already on my way," he said.
"Alrighty, I will prepare our drinks. I am sure that this would gonna be a long drinking sensation," he said and the call ended.
Drake knew that he needed to drink to clear his mind about everything that he was facing. He knew that he couldn"t force Harmony to marry him.
He wanted to get mad at his dad and to his family for treating him like this.
It didn"t take a while and he was finally at the bar.
He met Leo in the lobby.
"Bro," he said as soon as he saw him.
Leo had been a very good friend of Drake. He was the only person whom he could poured out everything that he was feeling. The truth was, he also envied the kind of life he had because he could get all the support from his family. So far from what he had experience with the Villarama"s.
Sometimes, he couldn"t help but feel like he was probably an adopted son that"s why they were treating him like this.
They were already in the VIP room. Leo knew what to do whenever he was dropping by and he couldn"t be more thankful to his friend.
"Thanks, bro," he said as he poured whiskey in his glass.
"Don"t mention it, bro. But tell me, what is it this time? What happened?" He said and he could see the curiosity in his face.
He took a sip of his whiskey and then he shook his head.
He didn"t even know how to start everything. He felt like his situation just sounded ridiculous.
"Oh, come on. I wouldn"t know what"s wrong if you will not be going to tell me what"s happening with you," he said while looking at him intently.
Drake cleared his throat.
"Yeah, so my family wanted me to get married and after that I can have all the inheritance and the chairman position of the company," he said without beating around the bush.
He drank the whiskey in his glass.
"Hey, slow down. You will get drunk again," Leo said with concern.
He just shrugged his shoulders. That was what exactly he wanted to happen. He wanted to get drunk and at least to forget the things that happened to him for the past couple of days. He felt like he had all the burden of the people all over the world in his shoulders.
He could still remember the conversation that he had with his grandmother. Even her, she didn"t want to consider his feelings. She suggested to marry Harmony instead as if it was that easy like how they sounded it was.
He let out a deep sigh while looking at nowhere. Since when did they become like this to him?
When his mother left and he rebelled because his dad never looked after his mother.
His mother left them because of his dad. He was neglecting his mother. And, as much as he wanted to run away from him, he couldn"t because his mother told him that it was best for him to stay there on his dad"s side which he couldn"t understand.
His mother was still concern about his dad despite of everything that he had done to her.
Drake wondered if everything he had inside his mind was all the reasons why his mother left them. Probably she was unable to take how everything was going with the Villarama so she chose to leave instead of fighting to what was rightfully theirs.
Now, he couldn"t tell to himself if he was still into fighting for what he wanted after all the unreasonable things that were raised by his family. He didn"t know how long he would have patience with them all.
They wanted him to get married but was that really what he needed to do to get his inheritance?
