Chapter 96
"I know and I am willing to wait for you even if it takes forever," he said. "I didn"t expect this to happen or to even feel what I am feeling for you, Harmony and for the first time in my life, I want to be brave to face it and not to turn my back for something that I love," he added. His voice was full of emotion.
She couldn"t help but feel touched because of what the man said. She and Paul had been in a relationship for a couple of years, but she never heard those words from him. More often than not, she was the one who wait for the man no matter how long he took to arrive. That"s how much she loved Paul back then. She tried to search her heart but there was no more space for the man in there. She was so sure that she had already moved on from him.
She let out a deep sigh. There was no sense pretending sleeping and as if she didn"t hear everything Drake said to her. She knew that he deserved a better treatment and a better response from her. And she couldn"t deny to herself that she was feeling the same towards the man.
"Drake, I don"t know what to say but thank you for the love that you have given me," she said, and she didn"t know whether she would voice out what was inside her heart because she was unsure if that was even the right thing to do.
Drake smiled at her and then she noticed that the car already stopped. They were finally at the house of the Villarama"s.
"I love you and always remember that. Don"t get pressured or what. I just want to say what I feel for you," he said and then he held her hands. But this time, Harmony didn"t pull it away. She wanted Drake to know that there"s hope between the two of them, but it isn"t just now. She didn"t want him to think that she just wanted him in her life because of all the things that he could give to her.
She just smiled.
"Shall we go? Your grandmother might already be waiting for us," she said to the man.
"Yeah, right," he said and then he helped her unbuckled her seatbelt.
"Thank you," she uttered.
He just smiled and then he started to unbuckle himself too. He went out of the car and then turned around on the other side to open the door for her.
Drake had been always a gentleman to her so she knew that if he would be the man that she would marry, then it seemed to be not a problem.
Drake was also in good terms with her mother so she couldn"t see any reasons why not to love him back. He was a man that every woman would be dreaming of. But she knew that she was just afraid because of her past with Paul and the fact that Drake came from a wealthy family.
Though his grandmother was kind to her, she was afraid with his Auntie Carmella. She was scared that the woman might do something that would ruin her relationship with the man. She hadn"t known her for a while but she could feel something strange to the woman. That first encounter that they had, she couldn"t forget the way that she was staring at her. The way that she was looking at her and if her gaze was just a knife, she was already dead that time.
"Are you alright?" Drake asked which brought her back to her sanity.
"Oh, y--- yes," she said and then she got off the car.
"Thank you once again for accepting my invitation and for everything," Drake said and then he put the back of her hand on his lips.
She felt like she was the most beautiful woman in the world because of what just the man did to her.
She could see the admiration in his eyes and she couldn"t help but feel her heart pounding so fast the way that he was looking at her.
"No, thank you, Drake," she said and then they both walked going to the garden of Drake"s grandmother.
She gasped in awe because of the current set up of the place.
It was like a fairy land. She could say that Drake"s grandmother really loved flowers because of what she was seeing right now.
The place felt so magical and then on the corner was the grand piano. It was as if it was intention put there for her since she would be playing the piece which was Drake"s grandmother"s favourite.
She didn"t know what she should be doing when she saw all of the Villarama"s eyes were on them.
"Just relax. They are humans and on top of that, I am here by your side," he said and then he pressed her palm.
Harmony took a deep breath and then she smiled when she saw Drake"s grandmother sitting on her wheelchair. She went near her and then kissed her on the cheek after she greeted her a happy birthday.
She felt like there were butterflies in her stomach. If only she could leave Drake, she already did.
She didn"t realize that there were a lot of Villarama. Probably, they were not just present when she was introduced.
"So, who is this beautiful lady with you, my cousin?" One of the men who was in a black suite went near them.
"Back off," Drake said in a firm tone.
The man just shook his head and then shrugged his shoulders. It looked like he was already used to Drake"s behaviour.
"Good evening, beautiful. I am Xyrus, Drake"s cousin. And, what"s your name?" The man turned to her while smiling from ear to ear.
She smiled at him as she didn"t want to be called rude if she would just ignore him. She didn"t want to have any tension as well.
