Chapter 64

Harmony and Drake came back from the hospital after they talked and took all the stuff of her dad.
They were already on their way to the private room when out of nowhere Paul showed up in front of them.
Harmony could sense that there would be something bad that"s going to happen the way that the man was looking at Drake.
Because of what Paul was doing, she was just hating him more. Why couldn"t he just stop and disappear like what he already done to her for the past couple of weeks? She was already happy and what he wanted would be impossible to happen.
"Harmony," Paul called her name. She was not mistaken of thinking that she was the man whom waiting for.
"Please, Paul stopped. This is enough. I told you, I don"t want to talk to you because there"s nothing we should be talking about," she said in an irritated voice. It was already too late when she realized that she was with Drake. She felt her heartbeat pounded so fast because she didn"t want to put the man in trouble.
She quickly held Drake"s hand and then spoke.
"Let"s go and don"t look back. Just don"t mind him," she said and quickly walked going inside the lift which just opened.
But before she could even enter, she felt a hand that held her hand.
"Harmony, is this the man that you are proud of and the reason why you don"t want to talk to me?" The anger in Paul"s voice couldn"t be hidden.
"Pa---"
"Harmony, go upstairs and let me deal with this man," Drake said and then he stared at Paul. The man was looking sharply at Drake.
"No, let"s go, Drake. Don"t do anything," she said, and she was starting to get pissed off. "He isn"t worth your time."
"Is he the reason why you looked troubled the past couple of days? Is he still pestering after he left you?" Drake said and the smugly smiled while still looking at Paul.
Harmony couldn"t describe what she was feeling at the moment. What could she do if these two men went physical? If they would punch each other in front of her?
"Drake, can we please just go? Let"s just leave him," she said in a calm voice. She was trying to hold her emotions because her parents were just upstairs. "I am sure that mom is already waiting for us," she added.
And, she saw when Drake seemed like he was back to himself.
He held her hand and then they went inside the lift.
Paul was just staring at the two of them and if those eyes were just dart they had already fallen from the floor.
"I cannot believe your ex-boyfriend is bothering you now," Drake said as soon as the lift started to go up.
She just shrugged her shoulders. She had no idea what Paul wanted from her. She had seen him going out with another woman so what could be his reason going back to her?
She shook her head.
"Well, probably, he had been already dumped and he wanted to pick the trash that he had already thrown away," she said and smiled sarcastically.
Harmony couldn"t believe that Paul would continue to wait for her and hoped that she would be talking to him.
She couldn"t believe that he was thinking it would be easy. After everything that happened, she knew that she no longer wanted to be with him. She was not sure, but she had an idea that her heart was already beating for someone else.
"You are not a trash if you are referring to yourself," Drake said while looking at her. "You are a priceless treasure that he didn"t know how to take care off."
She smiled.
This was Drake. He would always make and say things to make her feel better. It was something that she had never experience with Paul.
Even if they were not real couple, she could say that they were even more than a real couple because of how they were treating each other.
"Thank you but you don"t really have to deal with Paul---"
She was not yet finish on what she was saying when Drake put his finger in her lips to stop her from what she was saying.
"I know that you will say that you will handle him, but I can see that you are already affected on what the man is doing to you. Harmony, I am just here, and I promise, Ms. Catalina that I am going to take care of you, so I am going to do that even if you don"t want to," he said while looking straight in her eyes. "If I need to face Paul just for him to stop bothering you then I am going to do that," he added.
Harmony could see the sincerity to the man"s eyes.
She smiled as the man could still remember the promise that he had made to her mother.
"Thank you but like what I have said, I am okay. Paul already knew that everything between us already ended when he walked away from me. I couldn"t even see myself being with him again," she said, and she was thankful that she stopped from speaking because she might be saying that she would regret later.
"No worries. Just always remember that I am here for you. Though what we have is not the kind of usual relationship but always think that I am here for you no matter what happens. If you need me, call me and I will be there for you," he said, and Harmony couldn"t help but feel a different kind of thrill inside her heart.
She didn"t want to assume anything, but she would just let herself enjoy the feeling while she was still with Drake.
"How I wish these will just all be true," she uttered and she didn"t know that those words didn"t escape from Drake"s ears.
