Chapter 66

There was a silence for a couple of minutes inside the room. Drake was just looking at Ms. Catalina while waiting for her answer to his question.
He invited her so that she could also witness the proposal that he was going to do to Harmony. Though he had not talk about it to her yet, he wanted to confirm if she would agree coming to the birthday party.
Though there was a guilt feeling inside of him because he knew that Harmony was forced to agree with the request that he was asking because of everything that his family had done for her dad.
But, it was something that he needed to do to make his grandmother happy as well. He didn"t know but the old Villarama was so fond of Harmony. Sometimes, he even felt like Harmony was her grandchild and not him. She would always look for her even if he was already there.
His heart was pounding so fast in every tick of the clock. So, he looked at Harmony who was curling her fingers while she was biting her teeth. It was obvious that the woman was actually tense of what would be her mother"s response to his question.
He saw when Ms. Catalina slowly lifted her head.
She smiled at him though he could still see the tiredness behind those smiles.
"I love too but I cannot promise because of your Uncle"s situation. I hope you understand," she said while she held Drake"s hand.
Drake smiled and then she pressed her mother"s palm.
"No worries, Ms. Catalina. Like what I told you, I am just taking my chances. I know that Uncle will be fine by the day and surely, you will be able to come," he said while smiling at Harmony"s mother.
"Thank you for your understanding, Drake. If only, we didn"t have this kind of situation, even if you wouldn"t invite me, I will invite myself. I would love to meet your family," Ms. Catalina uttered.
He just smiled at her. "But how about Harmony?"
"Oh, yeah. You can take her with you, Drake. She can be the representative of our family. Can you block that date, sweetie? You have to go to that party," Harmony"s mother turned to her.
Drake saw when she was shocked. It was as if she didn"t know that her mother was talking to her.
"Yes, ma"am," she quickly responded.
"I am sorry, Jake. Please tell your grandmother that I am sorry as I am unable to go to the party and join you just in case," Miss Catalina continued. "Though deep inside, I am hoping that he will be fine as soon as possible."
Drake looked at Harmony. He could tell that she was still worried just like her mother about her father"s condition.
"I know what you mean, Miss Catalina but you also have to eat and take a rest. You have to loosen yourself from the stress. What if you will get sick because of thinking so much? Who would look after your husband and Harmony?" Drake said which stopped Harmony"s mother.
It was as if she thought about the questions that he had thrown to her. Well, he had a point. What will happen if she would worry so much and then she would get sick? What will happen to the three of them?
She let out a deep sigh.
"I am sorry, Drake. It seems like I am already thinking so much. I don"t know but since your Uncle had been brought here, my mind didn"t stop on thinking about a lot of things," she said with all honesty.
"I guess, that"s pretty normal, Miss Catalina but you always have to remember that I am here and as well as Harmony. My family is always here for you as well. They treats Harmony as a part of the family so please don"t be shy to tell me whatever you needed or Uncle needed," he said as he was reassuring the woman that she really had no reason to worry because he would do his best for them.
"Yeah, and I think you so much for that Drake. If there"s a phrase greater than these words that I am telling you know then, it would be for you. I cannot imagine what will happen to me and Harmony if you aren"t there supporting us," Harmony"s mother said while she was looking intently at him. "I can feel that you are really treating me like your mother. I can say that Harmony is so lucky to have you and your family around her. I couldn"t ask for me."
Drake pulled the woman closer to him and then he gave her a hug. Harmony and her mother had been through a lot already for a couple of days already.
And, he never left their side because he knew that they needed someone to support them. He was thankful that Harmony"s mother was able to recognize that.
"Miss Catalina, I am like your son so no matter what happens, I am here for you. Please, stop thinking about a lot of things especially about the bill or whatever, we will be able to settle that and as for Uncle"s health. I know he will soon recover. Just don"t stop praying and asking from the Lord to give Uncle a chance to leave and to be with you again," he whispered to Harmony"s mother.
Then, Drake lifted his head and looked at Harmony"s direction.
He could see that the woman"s shoulders were both shaking. It was just an indication that the woman was also crying. He knew that she had a lot of emotions inside her chest but she was just trying to be strong for her mother and for her father.
Drake distanced Miss Catalina from him and then he started to walk heading to Harmony"s direction.
He couldn"t understand himself but there was something inside him that was urging him to enclose the woman inside his arms.
