Chapter 59
"Harmony, please stop saying thank you," Drake said to the woman who was looking at him with tears in her eyes. For him, he did what he could do because he already got close to the family.
She shook her head.
"Please let me thank you for everything that you have done to me. I never thought that in my life I will be able to find someone like you. To be honest, I never expected you to do this to me given the circumstance how we met each other," she said between her sobs.
She was crying not because of here or sadness but she was happy because she had someone like Drake in her life.
"Silly," Drake said, and he couldn"t no longer held back himself. He let out a deep sigh as he enveloped Harmony inside his arms. "You are special to me."
Harmony felt like her heart skipped a beat when she heard those words from Drake.
She distanced herself from the man and then she looked at him into the eyes.
With her eyes narrowed," What did you just say?" She asked the man who was also looking at her but she couldn"t clearly read what was in his eyes. She was overwhelmed with the feeling that she had inside her and on top of that she didn"t want to assume about anything.
Drake was a kind man. No, he was a good man and she knew how fond of him her mother was.
"W--- what did you say?" She asked again when the man didn"t answer her and he was only looking at her.
Drake smiled which made her heartrate doubled. This man didn"t have an idea what he was already making her feel. If only he knew how hard her heard was hammering inside her chest because of the emotions that started to rise which she couldn"t explain what.
"I said you are special to me," he said as he met her gaze.
"What do you mean, Drake?" She said and she couldn"t hide the confusion that she was feeling because of the words that she heard from Drake. She was confused.
He shook his head.
"Don"t mind me," he said.
"What don"t mind you?" She said and she wanted to get irritated of him.
"Harmony, I think there are just really things that are better left unsaid. So, let us stay things that way," Drake said to her which made her more confused. What was he talking about?
"Dear, are you able to get me a chamomile tea? I think I already run out supply," her mother said as she interrupted the conversation that was going with her ad Drake.
"Okay, mom. I will buy. Just wait for me here," she said and then she left alone. She didn"t want to be with Drake yet since the man seemed not had any plans of telling her what he said earlier. She heard it clearly, but she didn"t know what exactly he meant by those words.
Was he trying to break his won rule? Special? That seemed to be a safe word to say for a person who was falling in love.
Harmony shook her head. Was it hard for him to say that he had already fell in love with her? She couldn"t believe him. Why he had that attitude?
It would be better if he would just say straight to her what he was feeling rather for them to play a guessing game. She didn"t want to flatter herself so much, but she wanted to hear from Drake what he was exactly feeling from her.
She was already on her way to the private room when suddenly she felt that someone hold her forearm.
She stopped and then she turned her head to look at the person who stopped her from walking.
Harmony didn"t know what exactly she would be feeling but she could say that her blood suddenly boiled. She was already pissed off with Drake and Paul was here as well.
She couldn"t believe that she had these two men in her life.
"What do you want?" She asked Paul without beating around the bush.
"I am sorry if I startled you. I heard that your father undergone surgery so I went here to check on him and on you," he said.
"And since you worry about me and my family?" She said almost growling to the man. She didn"t know but she didn"t like talking to him anymore.
She couldn"t even feel the pain that he had brought to her a couple of weeks ago. Harmony felt like she had already moved on with everything that they had been shared.
For her, it was already and end. There was already a period with what happened between the two of them.
"Harmony, I know that you are mad at me---"
"Oh, you already know so why do you keep on showing yourself to me, Paul? You ended everything between us so why are you showing up your face to me as if nothing happened? Am I like a toy for you, Paul? Answer me," she said and she couldn"t hide the frustration that she was feeling at the moment.
She rolled her fist into a ball as she tried to hold back everything that she was feeling.
"I couldn"t believe how thick is your face to go here and show up to me not just once but also twice. So what are you planning?" She asked him as she met his gaze.
"Nothing, Harmony. I was just really concerned. That"s it and nothing else," the man said but still Harmony didn"t want to fall in his words again.
She wished that she had brought with her, her phone and her headset so she could cover her ears from what the man was saying to her.
They were just really far from truth.
"Can you give me a chance to talk? Can we talk, Harmony?" Paul said while he was still holding her forearm.
