Chapter 62

"Harmony," Paul said as soon as the man saw him exiting the hospital. Her mother asked her to go home and get some of her dad"s stuff because he would be soon transferred in the private room. He just woke up a couple of hours ago and she couldn"t be happier.
It had been a couple of hours since his surgery and the doctors and the nursery made sure that they were monitoring him in the ICU like what Drake"s family had advised them.
She let out a deep sigh and acted as if she didn"t hear anything. She didn"t know what else this man needed from her.
"Don"t you dare touch me or else I will shout here and tell them you are doing and saying something bad," she said before the man could even touch her to stop her from leaving.
"I just wanted to talk to you. What"s wrong with that?" He said and she could sense that he was already irritated but Harmony was unaffected. She had no time to hear anything from this man.
Harmony just walked straight to the place where she could call a cab and go straight to their house.
"Harmony," this time it was a different voice that she heard. Her heart was pounding so fast, and she felt like her neck was stiffened. She didn"t know whether to turn around or not.
She didn"t notice that she slowly walked and then she felt a hand that held her forearm to stop her.
"What ar---" She stop in the middle of her sentence when she saw who was on her side. It was not Paul.
But it was Drake.
"What"s wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?" He said full of confusion. She looked behind Drake and she could see from there Paul who was looking at her and Drake.
Her eyebrows were knitted together as she was wondering what the man was doing there.
"Why are you here?" She said full of confusion and looked away from Paul.
"I decided to just go with you. I told Ms. Catalina that I will come with you to get your dad"s stuff. Since I have a car, it would be faster and easier," he explained. "Why you look like that? Is there something wrong?" Drake asked again.
She shook her head.
"No, it"s nothing," she said as she didn"t want the two men to meet. She wouldn"t know what would happen if they would encounter each other.
As of now, she didn"t know how Drake would take the fact that Paul was starting to surround her again.
"Are you sure? Because your face doesn"t look like everything is okay, Harmony. I know you. And, if there is something that bothers you, like what I have said, just let me know," he said and then to her surprise, the man held her hand as he was guiding her to the place where he had parked his car.
Harmony didn"t know what she should be feeling that moment.
She knew that Paul was just in the distance, and he was seeing what Drake had done.
She couldn"t help but wonder what the man was thinking about her after he saw Drake with her.
They were already in Drake"s car when the man looked at her again before he started the engine.
"Harmony, please let me know if there is something bothering you," he said which made her smiled.
She knew that the man was just concern to her and especially to his mother.
"I am fine. Is it mom? Did she tell you anything?"
He shook his head. "No, no one told me, but I can see in your eyes that something is wrong. I understand that you are not yet ready to talk about it, but I am just here for you, Harmony," he said.
"Thank you, Drake. This is just nothing," she said and then smiled at him.
Harmony could say that she was really lucky to have the man in her life. How she wished that they could cross the border line in their relationship.
"No need to thank me," he said and then the car started to drive away from the hospital premises.
It didn"t take long, and they finally arrived at their house.
"Would you like to go inside and have a coffee while waiting for me?" She asked Drake.
"Yes, sure," he said and then they both went inside the house.
"Harmony, by the way, grandma"s birthday would be soon," he said while he sat down on the couch in the living room.
She stopped from opening the door of her parent"s room.
She walked in the couch and decided to join Drake while he was having a coffee.
"Okay, do you want me to come with you?" She spoke.
Though she felt not in the mood to be in a party after what their family had gone through. She knew that she couldn"t say no to Drake especially with everything that he had done for them.
She could just explain to her mother that it was Drake"s grandmother"s birthday.
Harmony knew that her mom would be able to understand her.
Drake nodded at her and then she could see something in his eyes.
"Tell me, Drake. It seems like you are the one who have something to say to me," she said as she couldn"t control herself.
He took a sip of coffee and then she looked at her intently.
"I am sorry, Harmony but my grandma wanted me to propose to you during her birthday party," he said to her which made her almost fell from the floor.
Her eyebrows were knitted together.
"Drake, we already talk about it," she said in a low and sad voice. She knew that she couldn"t say yes like his first offer because she was afraid that she might totally betray herself and forget all the rules of their relationship. "I am sorry, but I cannot do it."
