Chapter 79

"Wow, are you being overprotective?" Harmony said while she was shaking her head. "I am just going to work, okay?"
"I know. I know. But still you have to tell me so I can pick you up," he said and then Drake smiled sweetly at her.
They were not yet in a relationship but Drake was already acting like her boyfriend, but she had no problem with that.
She couldn"t deny that there was a thrilling feeling inside her that started to be inside her heart. It seemed that Drake had already forget everything that they had with their contract. It seemed that soon it will be null and void. Their pretension would soon become reality.
Harmony felt a different kind of happiness because of everything that the man was doing for her.
"Thank you, Drake but I can really manage," she said and the looked at the man. "I know that you are concerned to me but I feel guilty because it looked like I have been holding you off to do things that you needed to do," she said to him.
"It"s okay. I don"t really mind being with you for the whole day," he said and then he looked at her.
Harmony felt like she was going to melt because the way that the man was looking at her.
"Drake," she said.
"What?" The man said smiling. It was very obvious that he was teasing her.
"What are you doing?"
"What am I doing?" He asked back at her.
She shook her head. But the truth was her heart was pounding so fast. She couldn"t explain why it was like that but as his warmth breath touched her face, she felt her heart rate accelerated.
There was a couple of minutes of silence between the two of them.
Harmony was thankful when her mom came in.
"Your father is ready to go," she said to the two of them. "Is there something wrong?" Her mother said while her eyebrows were drawn together.
She and Drake shook their heads almost at the same time.
"Okay," she said. "Shall we go then?"
"Yes, Miss Catalina. I think you should be able to go with me," Drake said.
"No, dear. My husband is still have apparatuses connected to his body. So, we will be going home with the ambulance and they said that they have to set up him on the room where you have all the medical equipment installed," Miss Catalina answered and then she walk near Drake.
She held his hand and then she spoke while looking straight in his eyes.
"Drake, I know that you are Harmony"s boyfriend. Soon, you can be a part of this family but I never thought that you will be doing everything that you have done for my husband," she said in a crack voice.
Harmony could see how much her mother was trying to hold her emotions at that very moment. "U am thankful because of you, my husband is now in a stable condition."
Drake just smiled at her mom.
"Miss Catalina, you are not other people to me anymore. And I think anyone who is in my position will do what I have done," he said to her mother.
"But still thank you so much for being the way to extend my husband"s life. So, even if I wouldn"t be able to come to your grandmother"s birthday party, please do not think that I don"t like to come, I cannot just really leave my husband alone at our house."
"That"s very understandable, Miss Catalina," he said. "Shall we go? I will just take Harmony with me if she like."
"Is that okay?"
"Yes, Miss Catalina."
"Alright, let me get going then. See you at the house. Please drive safely," her mother reminded Drake.
"I will, Miss Catalina. Please don"t worry about us."
She nodded her head.
Harmony and Drake just followed her mother until she was already gone from their sight.
She didn"t know what she should be telling the man. She felt awkward because she was at lost in words. How would she suppose to act inside the car with the man? Though it was not her first time to be with him, she couldn"t just help but feel different. As they would be alone after the man had confessed his love for her.
"Shall we go?" Drake asked to which she just nodded as her answer.
They both headed to the parking lot where Drake"s car was. It didn"t take them long to be inside his car. It was the same car that he used when they went to the beach and watched the fireflies.
Harmony suddenly remembered that date that they had. Would it be possible that the man had already fell in love with her that time? She couldn"t help but feel that way because everything that happened that night was just so perfect. It was perfect for someone who were just in a contractual relationship.
If Drake wanted to show people that they were really dating, he could without going to that extent.
That night was magical and she couldn"t help but make herself believe that Drake really made that night special for the two of them.
She tried to focus her eyes outside of the window those she was just seeing the walls of the parking lot. Her heartbeat was beating so fast as the care drove away from the hospital premises.
She didn"t dare to say a word because she really didn"t know what to say.
Harmony decided just to close her eyes and lean her head on the headrest of her chair. She didn"t have the courage or the enthusiasm to start a conversation between her and Drake.
She didn"t know what she should be saying to the man. She couldn"t understand herself why all of a sudden everything that was between the two of them felt awkward.
Harmony couldn"t turned away the thoughts that were running inside her head at the moment.
