Chapter 48

Harmony was tossing herself in the bed. She would sleep inside and then she would be lied down on her back.
She couldn"t sleep because she was thinking about what Drake had told her earlier. She never imagined that the man would be asking her to marry him.
Well, she wanted to get married. She wanted to be asked by a man that question but not definitely the way that Drake did it.
She couldn"t believe that she would be receiving another indecent proposal from him. Though she knew that Drake was just desperate because of the inheritance that he couldn"t get if he wouldn"t follow what his family wanted.
"God, what"s happening to me?" She uttered when she saw the time on the clock at the top of the bedside table.
It was already four in the morning, and she still couldn"t sleep.
Was this really effect of Drake"s offer to her? She couldn"t understand herself because deep inside her she wanted to get married to him. But she just have to say no because she didn"t want her family to think of anything.
She knew that her mother and her father would get hysterical once they learned that she was already getting married though for her married, she wouldn"t see any problem. Her mom was so fond of Drake.
Harmony decided to get up since it was already four in the morning. She wouldn"t sleep anymore. Thankfully it was weekend and she had nothing to worry about going to school.
She went straight to the kitchen as soon as she went out of her room.
She looked at the fridge and check what she could cook. She decided to prepare breakfast for her parents so that they would be happy when they woke up.
It had been a long time since she last time cooked in the kitchen and prepared their food. Since her mom came back, she always managed to do everything at home. So, all she needed to do was to study since she wanted her to stop from working.
She could say that she had been one of those luckiest child in the world to have her father and her mother.
They were not rich but they always give what was best for her and she couldn"t ask for anything else.
She cooked fried egg and then bacon. She cooked fried rice as well since her father loved to eat rice every morning before he goes to work.
She was enjoying everything that she was doing for her parents.
Harmony was almost done when she heard the door at the room of her parents suddenly opened. It seemed that her mother was already awake.
"Good morning, mom," she greeted her as soon as she saw her. Her mom went straight to the kitchen. She probably smelled the food that she had cook.
"Wow. It seemed that you woke up so early, Harmony. What"s the occasion?" She asked while looking at her.
She shook her head.
"Nothing, mom. I just wanted to cook for you and for dad. It had been a long time already since the last time that I have prepared food for dad and I think I am in the mood to cook for you," she said and then smiled at her. "What do you want to drink? Coffee or tea?"
"Just a hot coffee, sweetie. You know what? I am really thankful to your dad because he was able to raise you to be a good daughter. And thank you for being a good daughter even if I have been away for so long," she said.
Her mother was always becoming emotional whenever she remembered those years that she had been away from her. She knew how she felt because she had that feeling too inside her but instead of getting mad at her, she understood her mother.
She knew that what her mother did was a sacrifice so that she could give her a good life. She knew that it was something that she never wanted but she needed to do for her. So, she never felt angry at her because she chose to live on a different country. Anyway, she could see how her mother wanted to make up for all those years that she was not around her.
Harmony went near her mother.
She hugged her so tight and then she kissed her in the forehead.
"Mom, it"s so early in the morning and you are so dramatic. I just cooked breakfast," she said and then they both laugh.
"Silly. I just couldn"t believe that you already grow up. And, you grew up as a beautiful and amazing woman," she said and then she hugged her back.
"Thank you, mom. I think that is because I have amazing parents," she said and then she smiled.
She walked back in her place earlier and started to make a coffee for her mother.
"If I would be ask, I would always wanted to make breakfast for you and dad. I wanted to do everything that you have done to me to you," she said in a loving tone. "I am blessed because you are my parents. I know that we may not be rich but you made me grow up full of love and I think that"s more than money could buy," she added while looking at her mother.
She was smiling at her.
Her mother was a teacher and she knew those times that when they were in a call and then she would suddenly cry.
She would say to her that while she was teaching another kids, she had to teach herself because she was not around her. She felt sorry for her but she knew back then that her mother was the only one who could provide for their family.
"Here"s your coffee, mom. Served with love and care," she said and handed the cup of coffee to her.
"By the way, Harmony, why Drake went here last night?"
