Chapter 54

Harmony went down to get food for her mother. She didn"t want her to go down because she knew that she was already tired. She had to run here and there as she tried to get all the documents that her dad needed for his hospitalization.
She was thankful that she was with her because if her mother was not there, she wouldn"t know what to do. This was what she feared the most.
When her dad had his first heart attack, she almost lost her mind. She was just fifteen and her mother was not with them since she was working overseas. She was studying so after school, she would go straight to the hospital to take care of her father.
So, her mother knew that she couldn"t be blame if she was so scared earlier and if she had cried so much. She knew the stress that added to the burden that they don"t have enough money to sustain her father"s hospitalization especially that her mother is no longer abroad. She was just having part time. She was just baking goodies. So, she couldn"t quite imagine how could they survive this trial that was given to them.
There"s one thing for sure, she had to stop studying and she had to find work so she could support her parents.
It"s time for her to payback everything that they had done for her without any complaint.
She was already on her way to the room that Drake got for them when all of a sudden, she saw a familiar back of a man but it quickly went away from her sight. She shrugged her shoulders thinking that it was just possibly a mistake.
She continued walking and then waited for the lift to arrive. The private room was in the third floor. She didn"t want to take the stairs as she was already tired.
Harmony was humming while she was at the elevator, and she quickly went out when she reached her floor destination.
She couldn"t help but wonder who his father"s visitor could be. The door of the private room was open and possible, someone dropped by.
She walked slowly towards the room and the door was opened so she could see the people that were in the room.
She felt like her heart skipped beating when she saw the familiar figure that was standing in front of her mother.
Drake"s stare was like daggers. If those eyes were just knives, she knew that the man standing in his front had already fallen on the floor and had already died.
She cleared her throat to get their attention as soon as she went inside the room.
Harmony could see Drake"s reaction. She knew that he was looking sharply but those were not for her.
Her eyebrows were drawn together as she looked at the man in front of her mother.
"What are you doing here?" She asked straight at Paul"s face. He was the last person that she wanted to see in this world.
"I heard what happened about your father so I drop by to check him and also to check you," he said and she could feel that he couldn"t looked at her straight. Well, he must knew what his mistake was. "I know that the last time this happened, you were so scared. That"s why as soon as I heard the news, I went here," he said.
She nodded.
"Okay, I see," she answered without giving any interest. "I am okay. So, you can leave now."
Her mother"s eyes went round when she heard what she said. She looked at her sharply as if she was saying that she should have not done that. But Paul deserved more than that because he was stupid and a asshole. He couldn"t believe that he really had the guts go show up in front of her mother as if he was the kindest man in the world.
"Harmony," her mother said as she didn"t want the attitude that she showed Paul.
"Mom, Paul knew me and to be honest, he is the last person that I wanted to see," she said again, and she knew that her words were like knives but she couldn"t control herself.
The pain that this man had caused to her was still fresh. She couldn"t believe that he had the audacity to show up to her and tell her that he was worried about her.
"Everything already ended between the two of us. I appreciate your concern but please leave, Paul," she said in a firm voice.
Paul let out a deep sigh and then he walked out of the door. She didn"t even bother following him with her eyes. She had enough of him.
She was already done with him and the relationship that they had. The one-sided relationship that she couldn"t believe she was able to survive for a couple of years.
"Where are your manners, Harmony? The man just like to be with you in this trying times. What"s your problem?" She said and she could see the disappointment in her eyes. Well, she couldn"t blame her, but her mother couldn"t blame her as well if she only knew what Paul had done to her.
"It"s okay, ma. Paul knew me and he should have thought twice before he went here. I don"t want to see him and the last time I checked, I told him about how I hate him because of everything that happened," she said in a serious voice as she clenched her fist.
She couldn"t jut believe that Paul would really be doing this to her. How could she go at the hospital as if he was welcome to her life again?
It was as if he had already forgotten the heart that she had felt because of everything that he had done. How could he be so confident that it would be okay for her to see him?
Harmony just shook her head because of the disappointment that she was feeling.
