Chapter 72

Drake was holding back whether he would be speaking to Harmony"s mother.
It was already his chance to discuss to Miss Catalina the plan he had for his grandmother"s birthday party.
The plan of proposing to Harmony.
He let out a deep sigh as he took all the courage that he had inside. It would be now or never. He knew that their family was going through something, but his mother would love to know that he already got engaged to Harmony and he was hoping that Miss Catalina would not have any problem with that.
"Miss Catalina," he started but calling the woman"s attention. "Can we talk?"
The woman shifted her gaze at him. Drake could feel his heart pounding so fast as he couldn"t find the words that he should be saying. He didn"t want to make the woman feel that he didn"t care about the current situation of her husband and also at the same time the father of Harmony.
"Of course," she said. "Do you want to talk in private?" The woman asked. It seemed like Miss Catalina could feel that he was going to talk about something important.
"Yes," he said and then they both stood up and went outside.
They both sat down on the chairs along the hallway. He couldn"t believe that he was going to ask Miss Catalina about Harmony in this place.
He couldn"t help but smile inside of him because they were in the hospital and yet he was about to talk to her mother about the wedding proposal that he was about to do.
"I know that I may not be in the right timing, but I wouldn"t be beating around the bush," he said while looking at the woman in front of him. He didn"t know why but he felt like all the words that he was uttering were for real. Drake felt like the words that he was going to say were true like they all were from his heart. "I like to make my wedding proposal to Harmony during my grandmother"s birthday party," he quickly added.
"Oh," Miss Catalina uttered, and it was so obvious that she didn"t expect what he said.
"I know that this would be hard for you since Harmony"s dad is still recovering from the surgery. But like what I have mentioned to you before, my grandmother is so fond of your daughter. And I think the greatest gift that I could give her during her birthday is for us to get engage like what she is always asking me," he continued.
Miss Catalina was just nodding in everything that he was saying. He couldn"t figure out if she was nodding because she agreed to what he was saying or she couldn"t just find the words to use to answer him.
Drake was just staring at the woman for a couple of minutes and it was as if she was trying to absorb everything that he said.
"Miss Catalina?"
"Oh, yes. Drake, I know and I can feel that you love my daughter. I am sure that if her father is just well, he will be one of the people who"s very happy with your plan. To be honest, I don"t see anything wrong with it," she said while smiling at her and then the woman held his hand. "Just promise me, Drake that you are going to take care of my daughter."
He nodded and smiled at the woman. Drake couldn"t explain what he was feeling. He felt like that was really wanted to do in life. He wanted to be in Harmony"s side and be his protector forever.
"I will do that, Miss Catalina. I know that it could be very impossible to believe but I really love your daughter. I even couldn"t explain it to myself," he said while shaking his head. "But I think your daughter is never hard to love even my grandmother had fallen in love with their first meeting. Every day, the only thing I wanted to do is to see her as soon as I opened my eyes from deep sleep," he said to Miss Catalina.
"You sounds really in love with my daughter. And, even if you wouldn"t be saying this to me, Drake. I can see that through your actions. No one would ever do this to a woman if their love isn"t true. I am thankful that my daughter found you. I know that you will take care of her and you will not allow anyone to hurt her," she said to him.
"Thank you, Miss. Catalina. You just didn"t know how much you made me happy today," he said and he couldn"t hide the happiness that he had inside. "But, Harmony had no idea about this proposal so we have to make sure no one would tell her about it."
Miss Catalina nodded.
"Of course, your secret is safe with me and if there"s anything that you know I can be help with just let me know," she said to him.
It didn"t take a while and they both headed back to the room where Harmony and her father was sleeping.
Drake was just watching the woman sleeping beside the bed of her father. He could tell that Harmony really love her father because of everything that he was doing.
He knew that he would never get tired of watching over the woman and he couldn"t understand himself anymore.
Everything that he told Miss Catalina were true. There were no pretensions with those words but he was just afraid to tell Harmony. He was scared that Harmony was still into Paul. He couldn"t help but think that Harmony was just giving the man a hard time but the truth was she was still into him.
He let out a deep sigh. So even if he knew that this was wrong, he would be pushing through the engagement. There would be no way that he would allow Paul to hurt Harmony again like what he did before.
