Chapter 60
"Paul, you know that there"s nothing we should talk about," she said as she shook her forearm to remove his hand from it. "Please, leave me alone."
"But Harmony, please, hear me out. I am sorry from what I have done to you. I wouldn"t leave and I would even go to your mother if you wouldn"t talk to me," Paul said and then he looked at her intently.
Harmony was shock with what he said.
"P--- Paul? Seriously? Why are you so desperate to talk to me after you have dump me? Without any acceptable reason?" She said and the man was still behind her.
She didn"t want to turn around because she didn"t want to meet his eyes. She knew that she might give in if she would do that. She could easily be carried away by the emotions of other people while she could set aside her own. She hated herself for that.
She took her step to get out of the place because she really didn"t want to talk to him. She was so afraid that she might believe with his words.
Harmony feared that she would forgive the man after all the hurt that he had brought in her life. She might forget how Paul had left her in the café saying that he woke up and he already fell out of love to her. It was just unacceptable.
How could that even happen when she didn"t stop loving him?
"Paul, do whatever you like. Come to my mom but I am telling you this, there"s nothing that"s going to change. When you left me that day, you already put a period and end to what we have. So, for me, there is really nothing we should talk about," she said without still looking at him. "Whatever you realize when we broke up, I don"t care anymore. I am happy without you, and I hope that you respect that like how I respected your decision when you said that you no longer wanted to be with me."
"H--- Harmony, I know what I have done and if I have to beg again for you just to accept me then I will do that," Paul said in a crack voice.
Harmony couldn"t understand why Paul was here in front of her when she had a lot of things inside her head. She didn"t like to be with him anymore after everything that happened to them.
She couldn"t figure out what was on his head, and he was ready to beg for her just to come back.
He couldn"t understand because he dumped her. He left without a proper closure in their relationship so now he wanted to come back just like that.
She shook her head and suddenly, she could feel her heart hammering inside her ribcage. The anger spiked inside her and she hated Paul for having the audacity to go and talk to her as if she could accept him just like that.
"Paul, again, stop this because I know that I don"t love you anymore," she said and it was already too late for her to withdraw everything that she said.
She bit her lower lip and then she quickly let herself go from Paul"s hand as soon as she saw the elevator door opened.
She immediately get inside of it and then close it without wait for the man.
To talk to him was the last thing that she wanted to happen. There was no longer them. She had already accepted that Paul was just someone that passed by her life.
At first, she knew that she was hurting because of everything that he had said but she was so thankful that Drake came in her life. Even if their first meeting was not that good, she was still grateful that she met him.
If it wasn"t for Drake, she wouldn"t know what already happened to her family. He was kind even if the man didn"t know about it.
Drake was just a simple man who didn"t know his worth unlike Paul who was so proud of himself. And, she couldn"t even understand where Paul was getting that kind of courage to feel like he was the best man in the world.
Harmony shook her head as her upper lip twitched.
Paul came to her and begged for her to listen to him. She couldn"t just simply believe it after everything that he had done. She knew that he was also the one who spread the rumours in school because who else could be?
She and Paul was the only person who knew about everything that they had talked about. He made a point that she would be the one that would be bad in the eyes of the other students.
So, how could he think that it was just so easy for her to forget everything that happened to them.
She was thankful that she was able to get away from him.
But inside her head even if the man would plead in front of her, there would be no way that she would be forgiving him for dumping her and for making her the one who had the fault.
She was called digger and cheater. That was all because Paul spread false information inside the university. She was thankful that she had a strong mental control because she didn"t dwell much on their break up ad everything that the people were saying about her.
She shrugged it off as if she didn"t really care how they looked at her and most importantly, how they think about her.
She owed no one an explanation so she didn"t have to talk to Paul as well.
Harmony breathed in and breathed out as the elevator moved upward. She prayed that she would finally reach her floor destination because she was starting to be confused with everything that was happening.
"Aren"t you going out, Miss?" The man said which brought her back to her senses.
