Chapter 55

Harmony was just looking at nowhere. Paul just came in to visit her dad, but she hated the fact as if he didn"t do anything to her.
She shook her head, and she didn"t think about what her mother was thinking. She knew nothing about what happened to them.
She saw Drake looking at her. She knew why. By the looks in his eyes, she knew that he was thinking about her and Paul.
"Are you okay?" Drake asked her as he broke the silence that was feeling the room. "Aunty, that"s okay. I know Paul wouldn"t mind what Harmony had done."
"Still, that"s not right, Drake," her mother side while she was shaking her head and she didn"t hide the disappointment that she was feeling towards her. "I don"t want that to happen again, Harmony. He went here as a person, so you better treat him right no matter what happened between the two of you."
She just shrugged her shoulders. There would be no way that she was going to win over her mom, so she just let her think what she wanted to think.
Drake was just looking at them. She knew that the man understood her.
"By the way, what time would be dad"s operation?" She asked to divert her mother"s attention. She wouldn"t like them to fight because of Paul. He was not worth their time.
"The doctor said it would be at four in the morning so he already had a fasting," she said to her, but she could also see how she was worried about her father.
Who wouldn"t be? They have taken the risk for this operation. It"s done or die so she was praying so hard that God would give her another chance to be with her father.
"Don"t worry, Aunty. I have talked to the doctors and told them to give their best with the operation, so you really don"t have to worry about it," Drake said and then he both smiled at them.
Harmony was thankful that the man was with her, and she knew that this wouldn"t be possible without him.
"By the way, I told grandma that you are in the hospital, and you will not be able to grant her request of coming at the mansion," he said while looking at her.
"Oh, thank you and when you meet her, please kiss me to her," she said and smiled at him.
She was so fond to Drake"s grandmother. Maybe because they like almost the same things especially when it comes to classical. She knew that Drake"s grandmother was a romantic woman, and she was thinking that it could also be the reason why the woman was asking Drake to marry her instead of having the fix marriage. She couldn"t explain but deep inside her she actually like the thought of getting married to Drake unfortunately she couldn"t. She have to guard her heart because she didn"t want to get hurt again.
Harmony sat down on the bed and then she took out her mobile phone. She saw a couple of missed calls from a phone that was not registered to her address book.
She couldn"t help but wonder who could it be and it looked like he was about to say something important.
Harmony waited for a couple of seconds and the number didn"t call anymore.
"What"s wrong? Why are your eyebrows almost touching each other? You know what? Just shrugged it off whenever your mom is saying something about Paul. Don"t dwell on it," he said while looking at her.
She just smiled timidly. She didn"t know what to say.
"By the way, Harmony, are you sure you didn"t know that man is coming here?" He suddenly said which made her looked at him again.
She shook her head.
Harmony had no idea because she already cut her communication with the man since he broke up with her. She felt that there was no sense of talking to Paul because of what happened between the two of them.
As far as she knew, she gave her best, but the man was looking for something that she couldn"t understand what.
"Okay, if you say so. I know you understand why I am actually asking," he said while looking intently at her.
"Yes, I know," she said and then she looked at her mother who was about to get out of the room. She was thankful because she could talk to Drake clearly. She waited for her mom to leave and completely close the door of the room. "I know what you mean and I know what I am doing so you don"t have to worry, Drake. I don"t know why that man was here," she said as she was trying to calm herself.
"Okay, I was just asking. There"s no need to roll your eyes," he said which made them both chuckled.
"I am sorry if I am having an attitude is just that I am really worried about my father and Paul would just show up as if there"s nothing happened between the two of us. I couldn"t imagine why he was even doing that. He didn"t care about me and my family back then so why did he come here and show himself as if he didn"t dump me?" She said and then continued. "I know the last thing was the one you wanted to hear. And, yeah, I have accepted already that he dumped me but I don"t care anymore."
"Well, I am not saying anything so there is really no need for you to make a fuss out of it. Probably, Paul is checking on you or he might want to come back but he was afraid to be rejected," Drake said to her and she looked at him full of disbelief.
"You know what? Whatever his reason is, I really don"t care. He already put a period in our relationship so there"s no way for him to put a comma on it.
