Chapter 106: Abiding to her Rules
Caleb's POV
I slammed the books on the table, stacking them on the desired place and cursing but I went silent when I saw her coming, looking all bossy.
No one boss me around but she's doing just that with a bright look like she won a trophy or something.
My eyes lowered at my palms as they had gone pale, from the work she made me do.
My grandparents had that proud smile like I was just the perfect grandson they wanted.
"Caleb?"
I rolled a glare at her, she was smiling more broadly, as she drew closer to me, placed her hands on my shoulder blades, juddering like she was massaging them.
My heart flustered as everything else faded despite the trauma she had placed me through.
Too sad, she won't get to see Davis but his corpse. That was fulfilling.
"What are we having for dinner?" She questioned in a whisper and I gawp at her, shoving her hands over me.
"Probably, Davis head which I'm about to send" I responded to see her reaction and she just shrugged her shoulders like I never meant it.
"If you think he caused the plane crash, you're wrong" she said strolling towards the kitchen and I followed like a magnet stick me to her.
"Are you justifying the fact that you cheated on me with my brother!" I barked, clenching my fist and my vein tightens.
She threw a fierce yet warm gaze at me forcing me to pause and not ram into her.
"You can cheat but I can't! Huh!" She retorts prepared to counter any of my words and I scoffed unbelievably.
I intended to grab her by the collar and drag her closer to me but she took a step back and I missed.
That hits hard but I haven't had any other woman since I realize my body tingles for her.
However, she wouldn't believe since she thinks I'm a cheat. No she can't cheat, I'm the only one permitted to do anything I want.
"You're mine amaris and no one can touch you except me!" I declared and she rolled her eyes with an expression of contempt.
"I hate you Caleb, and you forced me into this!" She muses waving the wedding ring in her finger at my face while walking out on me.
I felt hurt by that because everything I tried to do to win her over, she'd keep saying that which gets me perplexed most times.
I folded my lips, and closed my eyes, trying to digest what she said which was quite distressing.
"Amaris!" I called, wanting to explode but she wasn't listening and was busy trying to take out the frying pan and bringing out some ingredients store room.
"If you don't mind, a little help here would do" she replied and I licked my lower lip, having a bitter feeling about this whole scenario.
I almost grabbed her hand but then she threw some veggies at me.
"You can do that" she pointed out with a tense look at me that I couldn't breath.
"What the fuck!" I screeched taking off the veggies from my hand and growling at her but it turns out she'd keep reminding me of the promise to just let her do her thing.
I was almost giving her a response when a clumsy footsteps walked in on us forcing me to keep mum.
"Oh my, Caleb's in the kitchen!" My grandma's voice resounded as she smiled.
It was infectious like she had won a trophy or something. She was at least, the only one excited in this house when it comes to me assisting in the kitchen.
My cousin and grandpa feels I shouldn't belong to the kitchen, or do anything relating to the house but murdering people.
Unfortunately, I wasn't them, it's the past and that's something I really wanted to avoid.
I felt so unfortunate, why do my heart have to beat for her and all I get is her hate, torment and downgrading words.
"So what's cooking?" She furthered not wanting to give us some privacy. She's quite nosy.
I wasn't expected to answer that but amaris kept gesturing to me to respond.
"Rosette" I responded in between my teeth and set to
"Oh that reminds me, Davis is coming over"
"He's alive?" Amaris and I chorused. Even I was stunned that amaris questioned that.
It seems as though she wanted him dead or just had to accept fate that I could murder him.
We both glanced at ourselves and I swallowed hard. He's meant to be in coma at least because I sent some of my men to deal with him.
"How did he know we're here? I told you Nona not to say anything" I muses with a frown trying to keep my anger in check because the women of this house were pissing me off.
"I don't know, I just called him to ask if he was doing...fine?" She said uncertain and I grunt knowing it's definitely her who spew the truth.
My grandma doesn't keep anything to herself, she always appears vulnerable and easy to manipulate.
"He's coming with his girlfriend!" She added like the news she gave wasn't enough.
Who cares if he has a girlfriend, he's fucking alive and I'd be the one to send him to coma this time around.
I glanced at amaris again and she seems to wear a relief look, as she closed her eyes, pinned her fingers together and muttered some words.
More like a prayer. I rolled my eyes with an expression of contempt and told my grandma to excuse us because I needed to concentrate on what I was doing.
She did just that but took along with her some tomatoes. Immediately she was gone, amaris let out a broad smile and said;
"I know you wouldn't hurt him, his head isn't coming, it's his whole body!"
I had an unease and a sense of jealousy flooded inside me. Why was she excited to hear about his coming?
Could it be that she's fallen in love with him!
