Chapter 92: Meeting Kiara
Caleb's POV
At first, I only said that to prove to someone people like Kian that I can actually keep a woman.
It felt like a joke to me. Did I actually propose a wedding? I was quite nervous but then, the way she stared like I never meant it only triggered me to make it come true.
I heaved a sigh, puzzled and wondering what life as a married man could be. Goosebumps held me and I couldn't concentrate.
Here I am, at the office, watching the manager dumping files on the table and I felt sick already.
Why did I tell her sit back at home? I really need her to tackle this files for me.
Perhaps, I should call her? No, she needs rest, tomorrow is our wedding. Thinking about her makes my heartmelt and I think she's my heartbeat.
"Sir?" My manager's voice cut through the voices in my head and I raised my brows to take a look at him as he was waiting for my response.
I just realized I've always made amaris run my affairs that I often ask her for guide whenever a proposal comes in.
I straighten my suit and raked my left brow to give a response. My eyes scruntized the paper work and it doesn't seem impressive.
"I'm not accepting this" I proposed, my eyes scanning through the loop holes in the presentation.
He nodded while I picked a pen to biserk the errors on the file.
"Who proposed this?" I questioned, disgusted by the outcome of the project.
He hesitate for a moment and said;
"Kiara Sanchez"
I froze for a moment, I couldn't breath as my eyes stared at the file.
I dismissed the manager with my eyes fixed on the file, nervousness flushes inside me.
Kiara always has a message attached to any file she sends and it's not a good sign.
I scoffed as I could spot it, just behind the file, a letter that implies we should meet.
A lot rings in my mind as I studied the letter. It's just mere words but I was quite curious to meet with her.
She's ridiculous and I hate it when I'm challenged. Wanting to snarl her off, I decided to visit her at the location she set up.
It was her villa which was quite impressive and I was staring at her, right in front of her pavement, wearing a red robe.
Her face gleam under the radiating moon light. She had a cigarette at the tip of her lips, and her eyes sparks.
I got out of my car, and stomp closer to her. Her face lightens up at the sight of me.
Her lips curved briefly as her lustful eyes scanned me.
"It took a letter to bring you here" her lips muffled as she inhaled the smoke.
I smirked at her, using my eyes to scruntized the place.
"What's this about." I mused wanting to call it a day already.
"Won't you come in? Let's have a word?" She countered with those seductive eyes of hers.
I swallowed hard, rubbed the back of neck and licked my lower lips. Once I get in there with her, I'm certain I'd want to fuck her.
However, having to think of amaris and the look on her face when she realizes would be devastating.
Nothing would happen, I believe I'm done with her. While lost in thoughts, her eyes drew me back to her.
She held my tie which leaning her face to mine, she had taken out the cigarette from her lips and placed it between her fingers.
"You miss me, don't you, that's why you're here"
I inhaled softly, drawing my lips closer to hers and inserting her stranded hair in between her ear while searching her eyes.
"Stop dreaming Kiara, I found someone else" I spat, grabbing her neck and pushing her away from me.
She rolled her eyes and let out a moan, while smiling broadly.
"I don't have all day Kiara!" I roared and pushed her aside.
Kiara chuckled and ducked her head at me.
"Is it because of her?"
"Stay out of it" I snarl, gnashing my teeth at her.
"I can't because this is relating to her!"
I clenched my fist bemused by her words. She dares not intervene in my wedding and my heart wroths against her.
I can't believe Kiara would act this bold, she was always timid and submissive. She arranged the lapel of her robe and then stared at me directly in the eyes.
"Simmer down Caleb and hear me out" she furthers breathing hard, she took a step backward, eyed me and walked inside.
I took a glimpse around me just to be sure no one was tailing on me and I walked inside.
I locked the door behind me and kept following her until she got to the study room.
Once I got in, I slammed the door and faced her. She paced towards the deck, I could see a bottle of tequila and tumbler which had an alcohol in it.
Kiara grabbed the tumbler and dragged herself to sit on the deck. Those eyes settled on me while she smoked.
My eyes scruntized the place, it turns out to be crowded with books, a shelf which holds artifacts and leaning at a corner.
The florescent lights tenders to flicker. The room was more like a confined space between us.
"Go on" I said breaking the silence between us while stomping around the place.
She inhaled her smoke and handed me the tumbler in her hand. I took it, glanced at it and gulped down.
"Cancel the wedding Caleb"
I let out a silent hiss, trying to digest the burn in my throat, the skin on my face shrinks and I thud the tumbler on the desk and glared at her.
"You know my answer, Kiara" I responded gawping at her and she scoffed.
"There was nothing between us, stop dreaming, we were just sway by lust..."
"You don't even know what it means to love" she interrupted, her anger, her resentment and pains reflected in her expression.
She dropped the cigarette inside the tumbler to quench it's flame and then turned to me.
I placed my hand side by side the desk, trapping her with me as I stared intensively at her.
Driven by determination and furious at her words. It all makes sense, she'd want to stop my wedding.
"I'd learn it with amaris"
She suddenly burst into laughter and I grabbed her jaw with my palm, peering into her eyes and she said;
"I don't think you would because if she knows the truth...then you're going down Caleb"
