Chapter 191: The emotions

Mia's POV

"Is that why you were stalking me? For her?" He furthered as I sucked my breath and dimmed it fit to drink the coffee because my throat burns.

"I..."

"She has a life with that other guy now Mia if it's what I'm thinking because I don't think I want to start again with her" he pressed on and then faced me.

He caught me off guard and I didn't even know what to say.

"We are getting married, Mia and I don't know what you're doing to me but I just want to be the one to walk you down the aisle"

"We are not, your parents would understand when the wedding is called off, I can explain to them..."

"Mia, you don't want me?"

He narrowed his eyes at me and I felt sober, weak and unable to explain the scenario at hand.

"Caleb, you and amaris go a long way back and she's the one for you, I feel Flynn's dark side was exposed just for you two to be together, you probably just met her in a bad mood but she's really nice" I narrated staring at him with hope in my eyes even though I was dying in silence from pain that I spent a few moments with someone as charming as he is.

The fact that he was understanding in just a brief moment baffles me and he shouldn't say something that would make me feel worse.

"That was Caleb but I am Bryan now" he fired back, his eyes had anger yet I could feel the bitterness still.

"It's all destiny playing, you weren't meant to meet me but her, I was just stalking to confirm that and I feel so bad for not telling you on time"

"I'm disappointed in you Mia, you still care about her when she hurts you, even if I had met her before you, it would still be you"

My jaw dropped as his confession got stuck on me.

"You don't understand anything, she sacrificed a lot for you..."

"Mia, everyone makes sacrifices but not everyone ends up with the people they burn down the world for" his voice registered and almost immediately, he stood up from where he sat and then walked away.

I exhaled softly with a heavy heart and watching the fire blaze, crackles with a lot at heart.

Am I wrong for trying to unite them, for trying to still prove to amaris that indeed, I wasn't into Caleb.

It's all screwed up and I ended up closing my eyes.

When I opened my eyes, I found myself on the bed, my body felt weak and I exhaled softly.

This place felt familiar, and I knew I was still over at Caleb's face. The sweet savory scent of lemon tea lingers around my nose.

I heaved knowing it's Caleb again. I was being served. Slowly, I rose from the bed, and found a note on the desk.

"I'm sorry about last night and don't hate yourself because it kills me, just sit by the balcony with this tea in your hand and feel the moment"

I blushed and then suck my breath while taking the tea. My feet paced to the balcony just as he instructed and I was staring at the garden with a broad smile, feeling the moment as he requested on the note.

I guess he was off to work. I don't even know what I want and at this moment, I just want to leave this house, search for my son and then run away with him.

I'd want to make up for the way I treated him, my son and apologize to caleb on why I just can't be the one.

I was lost in thoughts but heard the doorbell ring. I don't know if he was expecting someone.

Hastily, I moved away to answer the door and surprisedly, it's his mom, not the reason one actually.

"Oh my, what a surprise" she exclaimed holding a basket of veggies and smiling sheepishly at me.

I was stunned too and faked a smile, assisting her with the groceries which she had bought.

"It's amazing seeing you Mrs Wilson" I responded and she pat my shoulder, directing me to the kitchen.

"Stop that, call me mother, so when did you arrive?" She asked looking exhausted. The first thing I saw her do was head to Caleb's fridge.

"This child of mine doesn't eat, he keeps letting the food I prepare for him go to waste!" She furthers taking out the frozen meals in the fridge.

I grimanced and quickly to assist her. I could tell she was here to cook for Caleb. Probably, she does this every weekend but unfortunately, he just doesn't each her home meals.

How considerate of her. According to my findings. They lost their only son when he was a teenager and finding Caleb 5 years ago felt as though their son came back to them in form of another person.

"I came over last night" I muttered admiring her but then she looks sad.

"Home food is the best, if only he'd eat them" she mused returning to the kitchen.

I could tell she wasn't even listening to me and I thinned my lips.

"So what are we preparing?" I questioned smiling at her just to make her cheerful.

"Healthy meals that my son would end up throwing away" she replied beneath her breath and then I heaved a sigh.

"Hey Mrs Wilson, putting on that gloomy breaks me so here is the deal, I'd make him eat them"

Her face brightens as she scoffed.

"How?" She asked intrigued as I began to unfold everything that's in the basket and package bags.

"Trust me, I won't let your hard work go to waste" I teased grinning at her and she chuckled.

"Yes Mrs Bryan" she salutes and I widened my eyes at her. I didn't give her a response and only blushed.

Unfortunately, she won't be seeing me and so I should let her have the best of me while she's here.

"That's so soon and I am quite flustered" I muttered shyly and then smiled at the groceries.
