Chapter 123: Doctor's Examination

Caleb's POV

"Amaris?" I muttered as that was the first name that came in mind when I opened my eyes.

My lips let out a wince as I rolled my head on the bed, breathing hard and trying to get a clearer vision of where I was.

It was yesterday...Flynn and I had a fight of some sorts. I growl, rubbing my head as I had a split headache.

However, I could see doctors in white coat rushing to examine me. Their voices and medical terms was disturbing.

I flinched when my eyes were checked with a bright light that was taunting, my blood pressure, my temperature and response.

I tried to rise up but the head doctor told me I should relax as i needed to regain my strength first since it's the first time I'm waking up after a while.

The way they made it sound gave me goosebumps as I wondered how long I've been knocked out.

I was meant to have a fight today with Davis and then take my amaris with me...

My hands pushed the doctors aside as I growled, jumping on my feet and staggering towards the door.

She was the first I wish to see, the first to smile at me that I opened my eyes at last but why wasn't she here?

I flickered my eyes, almost falling and when a nurse came to assist me, I pushed him away, fussing and exhaling deeply.

"Back off!" I roared at their faces and they were forced to stand back. I still had my patient gown on, my eyes felt drowsy but I needed to see her.

I couldn't recall the last moment together but I could tell she was mad at me. Did Flynn instigate her to hate me?

I staggered and flung the door open. My eyes were greeted by a empty hall, like I was dumped somewhere unknown.

The white wall, seems as it would press against me, possibly because of my dizzy eyes.

All I search for was amaris, where was everyone? My could see patients and medical personnels going about their usual routine.

I pushed through them, not waiting for an elevator, I used the stairs, jumping it two at a time, even though I was exhausted, I still wanted to see her.

My head throbs with aches and I growl. Once I got to the exit door, I could see Kiara walking in with gifts.

At the sight of me, it fell off her hand. Tears brewed up in her eyes as she seems shocked.

I scratched my jaw and I could touch thick hair around it which means I needed to shave because I now had beards.

"Caleb, oh my, you finally work up after being knocked out for 3 months!" She affirms drawing closer to me and I gawp at her.

What!

She spread her arms to embrace me but I shoved her aside, not minding the expression on her face.

It's amaris or no one else.

"Where's amaris?" I asked and she suddenly scoffed at me. It wasn't as though I'd expect an answer.

"Caleb, you aren't that dumb are you? You almost killed her and she fucking left you!" She spat and I clenched my fist, panting heavily and wanting to smash my hand on something.

However, I have to control my anger. I folded my lips, feeling pains around my chest as I needed to see her.

If she doesn't give me to the chance, I'd abduct her. My chest thuds as I struggled to walk pass Kiara but she held my hand and my feet came to a halt.

"Stop getting ahead of yourself, you need to rest, she wasn't even here all the time, the least you can do is stay healthy!" She scolded with so much hurts in her eyes.

She stared with resentment and grief yet tried to look strong. Her grip was stiffen and her passionate eyes as she was so worried about me.

However, it's just amaris that I could think of right now. I heaved a sigh, her pleading eyes that I should listen to her for once.

I slowly pushed her hand away, swallowing hard. I lowered my eyes, my heart was trouble.

"I need amaris now"

We stared for a while and I could those tears threatening to pour out from her eyes.

With that said, I abandoned her and stepped out but then I heard her voice from behind me.

"You need an outfit at least!"

I rolled my eyes and a package bag was flung at my face. I glanced at her as she had a dull face, she had crossed her arms.

Her eyes gesturing to me to change into something good.

"Thanks" i responded for the first time in a long while. My cheeks flushes red but she covered them with her palm and I let out a sided smile.

I took another step when she said;

"I called a chauffeur and he is at the front gate to pick you..."

She paused and said;

"If you find her, tell her you're such a dick and do everything to win her back, asshole!"

I felt emotional for the first time in a while, someone was supporting me to get amaris back.

Tears brew up in my eyes and hastily, I ran to embrace her tightly. Her slender body yank on me as she fell warm and fluffy with the fur cardigan on her.

Her hands stroke my back and I heard her sigh.

"Let go of me or I wouldn't let go again" she mused and I kissed her on the cheek while terminating the hug.

"Goodbye" she whispers and I nodded, hurrying towards the front gate.

The chauffeur was right there and I got into the vehicle. I got to learn amaris was not at the family house and so I headed for the airport.

I'd be returning back home. Upon my arrival, I didn't visit my villa but headed straight her house.

Unfortunately, I received the news that she had relocated. To worsen it, she has resigned from work.

I searched at her friend's house but it seems she wasn't in town too. I felt so sober, regretting. What have I done.
