Chapter 160: Taking a break
Amaris's POV
It was fun, enlivening and we got to donate for the orphanage, thanks to Flynn and gosh I really can't help but fall in love with his personality.
I just don't know what to say but I am in love. After the orphanage, we had to move to the location of his foster parents who adopted him five years ago.
Unfortunately, they had relocated from the country with him which certainly means another journey.
Wow, this was more than I expected. Here we are at the beach, Mia had requested we pause here for a while and Flynn left us to attend to something important but he'd be back.
It's quite amazing that he had a company in this country which is thriving.
I watch as Mia buried her head on her thighs and sob.
"What if we get there and realized they've moved again? No one even knows their location" she wailed falling herself backwards on the sand.
I heaved softly as it was time to encourage her as always that it wasn't the end of the route and that there was hope.
I knew she didn't want to involve the police and that's why she decided to go solo but then I decided to come along while dragging Flynn too.
And really, he was of a great help, trying to track down where the child's family had relocated to.
"Mia, we will"
"This is reality, enough with your quote that isn't helping"
"Great! Should I start yelling at you and telling that bad things would happen to him? That's why I am here to support you!" I scded and she burst into tears.
She covered her face with her palms and whimpered. How long would she keep crying even though that wouldn't solve her problem.
I thought this search would just be two days and I'd be home but it was opposite of what I was hoping for.
"You're so mean" she muttered kicking her legs in the air and I folded my lips while falling back on the sand.
"More like it, I think I should be mean"
"How about we grab some drinks" she suddenly suggested throwing her hands over her head.
"No, Flynn would be back soon"
"It's the only way to keep me calm before he comes amaris" she snapped struggling to get on her feet.
She held my hands and pulled me up from the ground.
"30 minutes"
"What!"
"It isn't much, I guess a bar is close by here" she added trying her possible means to convince me for a drink.
I shook my head still worried that once Flynn gets here, he'd be jinxed not to find us here.
"You said you want me to be happy, don't you care anymore?"
"Yes, and arghh, you're so annoying" I muttered surrendering already and following her.
We got to a bar, somewhere close by and I texted Flynn just so he wouldn't get worked up.
The music in this bar was deafening with patrons swooping in and out, dancing, chanting, swirling their waist and roaring.
I wasn't interested in this place and only came around just so she wouldn't cause chaos.
"Flynn, Flynn, Flynn, girl you're so into this guy" Mia muses after I had texted him and I nodded.
"Yeah, do you have a problem with that?"
"Two bottles of tequila" she said to the bartender and then faced me.
"Yeah because you might end up forgetting about me" she said with an exhausted sigh while taking her seat.
"Why, we're besties and you're literally the only person I got girl, so don't worry about it" I responded and she blew a raspberry while the bartender handed her the bottle of tequila.
She took them, pressing through the crowd and walking towards an empty round table at a corner.
My feet followed suit as I furthered my discussion.
"Have you called Aiden?" I asked and she growl.
"Nope, I only told him I had work to do and he shouldn't bother calling because I won't answer"
"What?"
"I'm tired of hearing that exclamation from you"
He clearly loves her but it seems she wasn't reciprocating back.
Yet, he cares but she was being heartless. We need to talk about Aiden.
"It seems as though you're strangers and that's so unfair"
"Well he chose to fall in love with me, I never forced him though"
"That's just what you have to say after all the sacrifices he made for you?"
She shrugged her shoulders and then poured a glass of tequila to drink.
"If he wants to end it, then he can"
She was acting so nonchalant as though he doesn't matter.
"He signed up for it, I'm a busy woman that's why I just don't get into relationships and fuck alone when I'm horny"
I shook my head and then twirl my fingers around, trying to understand her weird concept which gave me a throbbing headache.
"He loves you, why don't you give him a try?"
"I don't want to try, love doesn't exist, take a look at you and Caleb, I mean he died after trying to make up and Flynn, you never can tell what his agenda is..." She paused and I gaze at her, quite hurt by her words.
Mia squeezed her lips as tears brewed up her eyes.
"I mean they're from the same family line and violence runs in their blood, someday Flynn might change"
"Mia!"
"What! I'm just saying"
I folded my fist getting pissed off as she was rubbing off on my pains reminding me of the past.
Flynn is different, he'd always be.
She was expressing her anger but comparing me was a whole different level.
"That's so cruel Mia and I need you to stop"
"Are you offended that you have bad taste in men"
"No, you're sad that you keep making wrong decisions that drives you crazy"
She scoffed and took the bottle of tequila to gulp down. I gave her a daring glare, raging with the words she used to assess me.
Mia was just a savage.
