Chapter 149: Everything you need to know about me

Amaris's POV

A groan left his lips as he folded his hands into a fist and said;

"Whose first?"

At first, they were bewildered by that statement but geared up in anger and began to shoot mercilessly at him.

I swallowed hard, suddenly intrigued to see what he was trying to pull out. Aaron wouldn't hear the sound because his skin was sound proofed.

It seems their bullets were having no effect on him rather it made him grew wild and perhaps strength him.

However, it was all part of the plans of seven hours ago.

"We are meant to trigger him into being the bad guy in the presence of people around and within the building"

One of them muffled adjacent where I was hiding and I grew curious.

Even though their lives might go for it, they were ready for this man.

Once he's viewed as the bad guy, he becomes a national problem and he would be feared.

He somehow felt he wasn't in control of himself few minutes after they had shot him and were now waiting for his next move because those bullet fired on him weren't ordinary.

A cop suddenly began to alert people around that a murderer was in their midst claiming that something horrible was taking place on the tenth floor.

She and her team where over there to handle the situation. That seems like a relief but then, I couldn't leave Aaron.

Hastily, I rushed to take him out while I'd draw the police to where Flynn was.

Due to panics, occupants began to evacuate the building as they trooped out in numbers.

Some of them who were already downstairs witnesses some men being thrown down from the 10th floor which heightened their fears.

According to what they sighted, the occupant of that floor was actually murdering some men by pushing them off his balcony.

The chance of survival from the floor was zero percent. Furthermore, they could sense that a part of the building was crumbling.

Soon, outside this building was crowded by people who were intrigued to watch the scene that was taking place because it was all perplexing.

They could hear the shattering sound of broken glasses. The ground began to tremble like though an earthquake would take place.

I panicked, what was going on? Aaron was awake now, fear holds him bound and I understood what that means.

There were some occupants who were taking videos of the whole scenerio.

However, they had to race for their lives because the duplex was collapsing.

I tried to reach out to one of the officers but they were ignoring me which pisses me off.

I handed Aaron to one of the occupant whom I was quite familiar with, wanting to run inside the building.

Some had began to place calls to the cops for assistance because something weird was taking place in this duplex.

Though it was late at nights and usually quiet at this place but it became rowdy this very night.

A young woman who had gone to get drugs from a pharmacy earlier had left her son in the building.

Returning home was a shock because she saw people running away from the same building she was venturing for.

By the time she had arrived, a part of the building had fallen and the rescue teams who had come to take control of the situation weren't allowing anyone to go in and she cried in pains yelling that her child was inside the building.

I threw my gaze at her, it seems I wasn't the only one worried over someone, just as I intended to bypass the rescue team, Flynn came out.

I rushed to embrace him in tears as he was covered with dark dust and cough.

He was with the child and the mother rushes to embrace her. I was so relieved that he survived.

I sat with him, forcing him to take his medications, even though I was curious to know who eventually tried to attack us.

He was just quiet about everything but then a call came in. He wanted to leave but I pestered him to take me along because I couldn't bear losing him again.

Having no choice, he let me come along and it was quite creepy where I found myself.

Flynn

"I would return"

Those where the last words he said to me. I was curious and nervous about everything.

His eyes were piteous as he led me to an isolated building. Earlier, he had told me to come along with him and being my dearest friend, I went with him.

It was the first time my brother ever asked me to come along with him.

Certainly, my prayers must have worked because I had always wished for a get together with my brother and this night happens to be that day.

It was late at night and the stars were bright that day, the moon didn't hide its delicate light to guide us on the path we were taking.

That night was creepy and I held on to my big brother firmly just not to lose track of him.

He wasn't saying anything to me and had a stern look. His eyes were searching to and fro.

The direction he was taking me to was in the woods yet as naive as I was, I couldn't question him, that's because I was scared of flynn especially when he was silent.

However, out of curiosity, I made up my mind to ask him where we were heading to.

All he told me was that we are hiding from incoming danger.

I believed that because my brother aways got into trouble where we reside and so it wasn't a big deal trying to avoid their chaos.

Well as witty as I was, I thought we were playing a game and I was excited to hide from that danger but everything changed when we arrived at an isolated place.

It seems like he was familiar with the occupant of this place. I couldn't describe perfectly how this place looked like but I had bad energies around it.

It was an old storey building and the walls seems to peel off with an inscription which wasn't clear.

I swallowed hard, suddenly shivering. My innocent gaze rested on my brother. I could see his eyes bore fear and he was avoiding my stare.

This brother of mine kept his watch perhaps over those we were hiding from. Perhaps, I should have asked why we chose to hide here of all places.

He rang the doorbell and out of the blue, two men who were wearing scrubs and having mask on their face appeared.

His feet stepped away from me, his smile was genuine to me and he said;

"Do you trust me?"

Maybe that was my mistake, saying yes I do.

That positive nod I gave him made him sniff as he told me that these people would keep me safe and that he was off to handle those who were chasing after us.

I smiled sheepishly and beckoned on him to kick their butts off. However, his reply was;

"I'm sorry dear brother, I had no choice"

Those words registered in my head as he gave me his final embrace. The two men pulled me out of my brother's hug and pushed him away.
