Chapter 161: A glance at him
Amaris's POV
Annoying, I took my bottle and gulped down too and we both glared at each.
Fine then, if she wants to rain down on me then I was ready for her too.
She kept scoffing and then said;
"Fine then, don't just keep making me believe that there's love because there isn't"
"I hope someone proves to you it exist"
"And the people I actually like ends up being with someone else"
I rolled my eyes not really interested in that line. Her fingers kept gesturing to bartender to serve us which he did with delight.
We got wasted and I never expected that. I felt drowsy already wanting to sleep. Mia had already crashed her head on the table, snoring.
She doesn't mind sleeping anywhere after cussing her life. It seems I'd be the watch woman over her.
Lazily, I tugged my hand in my pocket, to bring out my phone when a stranger grabbed my hand.
My vision was blurry and I didn't get a lucid picture of who it is. I squint my eyes and realized he was stuttering too.
A drunk and I know that. I exhaled softly while trying to break out of his hold but his grip was fierce.
However, I got up and managed to push him back. He snickered as crossed his hands on his cock.
I could see three men rising up from where they sat
My eyes glared at him as I fume while staggering towards Mia to get her up but then I felt his grip around my collar dragging me back.
My back yank on his chest and his breath smells just like the alcohol that he had stuff inside him.
"Hey beautiful, let me lubricate you tonight" he whispered in my ear and I felt a tingle, disgusted.
I eyed him and pushed him away but his grip on me this time was more fierce as he stretched his lips for a kiss.
I kicked him annoyed and growling but he only laughed trying to capture my lips.
"Take your hands off her" a cold voice uttered from behind me.
I swallowed hard, the air in me ceased as I felt this person close by. It wasn't as though I needed help, i could handle drunk.
It wasn't Flynn though. I wondered why Flynn wasn't here yet.
The drunk didn't let me go and before my eyes, his hands came falling off.
He yelp frantically from the pain as he fell on his knees.
His eyes stared with horror as though, he was staring at terror in the eyes.
I almost passed out as that was unexpected, as I flinches and dragged out his detached hand from my wrist.
I gasped and stuttered back on to slammed my back against someone.
Fear rushes inside me as my hands trembles.
I could feel his heat simmers through the dress I wore and my stomach twisted.
It was as though i was glued to him, his cologne, it was familiar.
Nervously rolling my eyes, I met his stern gaze. I froze, breathing hard.
"Caleb?"
It was him with a sword and a cocky smile at the man.
Shock flushes through me as the first question I ask was if perhaps, I was in a trance.
I lost my breath, try to touch his face as tears brewed up in my eyes. He was quiet.
His eyes scanned me, piercing into my soul and cold runs down my spine as i went breathless.
I cringed at him, lowering my eyes to stop the sudden gripping sensation coursing inside of me.
It felt so real but then he was seeming as though it was all wrong.
I covered my mouth, as he looked different, in a dark coat, his long hair falling flawlessly, his grey eyes darkens that I assumed I was staring at a handsome devil.
He moved away from me, handing over the sword to a huge man beside him and then paced to this weeping man, squat low to the man's position.
His bright face was replaced by a cold glare at this man.
His hand took out a dagger from his breast pocket and he said;
"I hate it when you lay your hands on them"
With that said, he raised his dagger to stab him.
"Stop!" I screeches panting hard and he suspended his hand like he was remote controlled.
I didn't want to see bloodshed and chopping off this man's hand was enough.
"Take care of him" he ordered his bouncer and faced me, his stern look suddenly brightening up.
"I trust you're fine now" he whispers and then walk pass me.
"Caleb!" I called and he paused throwing his gaze at me. His brows pulled at me as I swallowed hard, staring with pain in my chest.
He let out a sided smile and said;
"Do you know me?"
"You're alive?" I asked shocked and my hands trembles as I intended to touch his face but he was moving far away from me.
My feet kept running after him as I intended to hold him but with thd crowd pressing in on us, I couldn't lay my hand on him, he vanished.
I stood, stranded in the midst of strangers swaying their waist. I closed my eyes and opening them, I realized I was outside now with Mia who I had taken out from the bar.
Unfortunately, the message I texted didn't get to Flynn and I gave up even texting our location, that's because of the scene earlier.
Or perhaps, I was hallucinating that it was Caleb because I was drunk.
I tried my best to hold on to Mia just so she wouldn't fall even though she had no idea of what transpired today.
It took a hard time to convince myself that it wasn't Caleb and just my delusion because Mia and I were talking about him.
While we stood outside, waiting for a cab, I heard his voice. Flynn, not Caleb. He was at the other side of the crosswalk, waving at her.
He was always running towards me and my eyes stared plainly at him.
I was wrong, Caleb is dead and Flynn is the only one I got.
