Chapter: Chapter 137: The long Hike
Amaris’s POV
It's not meant to be, at least not here.
"Last night was hot" he whispers, kissing her cheeks and I smirked.
"I think I left a stain on the wall..." She paused, pointing her hand to the spot I heard moaning last night.
"Oh, it's our signature babe" he furthered and I clenched my fist. What! Do they go everywhere around fucking?
This was was so uncalled for and they made me suspect Caleb. I wished to lock them up just so they wouldn't show up for the hiking.
"Hey! Amaris!" Liam called waving at me but I just shun him and walked away, feeling bad.
I placed my hands on my stomach, wanting to meet Caleb who has been crowded by the workers, mostly the females.
What's wrong with him? Why is he letting them this close?
I could feel rage in my heart as I squeezed my lips suddenly wanting him to notice me and I had the perfect idea.
"arghh" I winced bending slightly as though I fell but then Liam had held me before I could fall.
Seriously?
I gave him a glare as he was asking if I was alright. Then came his girlfriend who also had worries in her eyes.
"I think you can't go for the hiking, you can just stay behind"
Fuck you.
"I'm fine, I just missed a step, nothing else" I defended my eyes gesturing to him to move away.
The person I do much wanted to look at me wasn't even doing that. He had even gone ahead of others and leaving me behind.
Stupid.
I drew my hand from Liam and pushed me away. The girlfriend didn't even let me touch her before she resign.
She seems annoyed though and went to attend to her boyfriend.
I stomp away from them, and found myself walking in the woods.
The group of hikers walked their way up the mountain trail. Their footsteps quiet on the soft earth.
The air was filled with the scent of pube and the distant hint of wildflowers.
As I climbed higher, the trees grew taller and closer together, the sound of a babbling brook grew louder and soon the hikers found myself walking alongside a stream.
I was left behind, completing over why I didn't chose to just sit back rather than claiming I could walk the mountain.
The sun beat down on me, warming my skin but not lifting my spirit. While I walk, my eyes views variety of landscape and at this point, I think I should give up.

I almost missed a foot but then a strong arm held me from tripping down.
I shrugged the hand over me while annoying turning around to take a glimpse only to find Caleb.
What?
I thought he was ahead of the team.
I stuttered backward and would have certainly fallen if he hadn't held me.
"You're still clumsy" he mutters and I rolled my eyes, if he was expecting a thank you, then I won't speak.
I licked my lower lip, shut my eyes and began to paced forward but he said;
"That's the wrong direction... you've been trailing on the wrong track"
I gnashed my teeth, wondering if what he said was true. Why don't he just flock around his women and leave me alone.
"Why are you here?" I mused wanting to hear that word.
I am here for you.
"I lost my way around and unfortunately met with you"
Unfortunately?
What is he saying? That he is annoyed he was with me.
"That's a lie, you're stalking on"
He ducked his head at me, a scoffed escaped his lips and then he raked his right brow.
"Are you craving that much for my attention?" He suddenly asked, his lips curved upward as I clenched my fist.
Was it really obvious.
"Why would I? You're a monster!" I brawl wanting to defend myself and run away from his sight because I was feeling mousey.
He stepped forward, his eyes peering into mine and I couldn't move, or flicker but just stare.
"A monster whom you fell in love with"
I grimanced and then widened my eyes while stomping a foot on his left foot in anger.
He didn't even move by even though it felt as though I just massaged his foot with that little stomp.
"Never, if you think you crave my attention and love, it would never happen" I sparked but my heart was flustered with the way his eyes searches mine as though to learn of the truth with just a gaze.
He suddenly threw his hands around my waist, a gasp escape my lips as my body ram on his chest.
"Are you sure about that?" He whispers and I suddenly went speechless, my stomach twitches as I inhaled.
He wasn't even mad but just maintained a calm feature and I was left to wonder about the kiss early this morning.
"Let me go Caleb..."
"Hmm" he said with a nod, pressed my body harder to his that I lost my breath and couldn't think.
"Your body says a different thing" he whispers, his voice echoes and his breath fanned me.
He must have seen my goosebumps and was making jest of me. I placed my hands on his strong arms, trying to squirm out of his hold.
"Boss?" A feminine voice called and I quickly pushed him back while stretching my shirt feeling nervous.
Left for Caleb, he still wouldn't let go and might just cause chaos like it was in my former place of work.
Caleb's eyes were still on me as I moved a distance from him and threw my eyes at who called.
It was dira, probably, she lost her way again judging from how she looked ragged and shattered.
She was swaying her walking stick and staggering towards us with eyes of hope.
"Thank God I found someone" she said hurrying towards Caleb and exchanging courtesy but he shun her.
More like him.
"Are lost too?" I questioned wanting to be sure because dira was someone who created unforseen circumstances just to be around the boss.
She never hides her affection and crush for him even though he barely notices her existence.
She was the head of the managerial team in the company.
Dira nodded and then pants while bending slightly, her both hands held her knees.
I swallowed hard, Caleb wasn't right then, we are just lost wanderers. I rolled my eyes around and even I returned them back on Caleb, I could see he was stroking her back.
Dira was stunned judging from the way her body stiffen and how she affectionately rolled her eyes to look at him.
My body shook, I was pissed off, trying to believe Caleb was just doing that to make me mad.
Nothing of what he does will get to me, he could do anything he wants with anyone.
But why do I feel like pushing dira off this mountain?
"It must be exhausting for you, do you mind if I back you?"
