Chapter 207: The heroine saves the day

Caleb's POV

"No one dare hurts my man" she muttered. I could see that she was covered in blood too.

The three goons at the balcony met their end too as she was swift to send bullets into their skulls.

She must have fought the men downstairs to get to me and there was silence. I grunt while struggling to get on my feet.

She ran to assist me and I whimpered turning cold.

"I-i told you to stay away"

"I'm sorry but I'm used to stalking you, if I wasn't here, you would have been dead" she fired and I kissed my teeth.

"You're trying to play hero here"

"Yeah, the heroine saves the hero" she teased even when I'm dying with pain.

"Gosh, I can't walk Mia" I muttered breathing hard as she slowly made me rest my back on the pillar close to me.

She quickly tore my suit apart used a pieces from it to curb my bleeding, tying me like a mummy but she didn't take out the bullet from my leg yet just not to add to the bleeding on me.

I had turned cold from the hits and beaten. I wish this was like the fantasy where the hero still had the strength to fight back and rescue the girl but I'm dying for real.

"Get on my back" her voice came back as I was sitting lifeless.

"What?"

"Yes, there are explosives here and one of them had turned it on for emergency reasons to clear up their mess, I need to get you out of here" she asserts drawing my attention to her.

"What of my men?"

"Everyone is dead, it's just us two, stop acting shy and just get on" she pressed on and I scoffed unbelievably at her.

"Don't worry... I'd walk" I responded struggling to get on my feet but she hauled me to fall on her back.

"Did I tell you I got recruited as a soldier?" She muttered adjusting me properly on her back and I felt so embarrassed she was doing this.

"No, let me guess, you were carrying men on your back"

She began to run gently with me, and I tried not to place on my weight on her or we'd end up crashing.

She brought me outside the warehouse and then placed me inside the jeep she rode in.

Mia just looked like the hero and I couldn't help but keep falling in love with her.

"Stay right here" she whispers, fastening the seatbelt on me and straining her shoulders.

My eyes were barely awake and I could taste my chapped lips but then I placed my eyes at her.

She left me and I heard the trunk of the jeep slam close. She appeared in front of the windscreen holding two large gallons of fuel.

"You lied about the explosive" I grunt and gnashed my teeth.

"Yeah, because I'm setting the place on fire myself"

She's crazy and I let out a wry smile at her. She winked at me and ran inside the warehouse. In a few minutes, she ran outside, took a lighter from the dashboard, switch it on and threw it inside the warehouse.

She was so quick and my drowsy eyes lurched at her.

Hastily, she returned to the jeep and began to drive off. I was just frozen as she tune in a hip-hop music.

She wasn't even scared if I'd die.

"Mia" I softly called unable to lift my body as I felt I was paralyzed. I almost closed my eyes when I felt an ice bag on my forehead.

I just didn't know where she got it from but she was in panic yet tried her best to focus on the road.

Damn she was a crazy driver too, driving above speed limits just to get me to the hospital.

"Bryan, don't you fucking close your eyes"

"Yes ma'am"

She didn't leave me behind and that's insane. How did she get to me at such a quick notice?

Immediately we got to the hospital, she hastily brought me out of the car, alerting the nurses and doctors who quickly rushed to me to attend.

I couldn't recall much but her hand was holding on to me on a stretcher, until the emergency door closed and my eyes fell asleep.

My whole body aches as the heart rate machine beep loudly but then slowly.

I tried to turn around but I felt an arm around my waist and soft breath fanning the back of my neck.

Mia.

I turned around slowly and realized she was sleeping beside me, covered in sweat.

The temperature here was hot to keep my body warm and she didn't mind. I adjusted my body on the bed, watching her sleep.

She earned the hero award and I guess her body must ache. I slowly cleared her hair from her face and stared at her for a while.

Then she stretched her body for a while and when I noticed she was opening her eyes, I closed mine.

I couldn't feel her close which meant she had left the bed but then I heard the curtain swipe open and she let out a yawn.

Then the door squeak open and I could hear footsteps stomping inside.

"Oh my baby!" Mother's voice sang in the air as she was crying.

Great, she called my parents which is so uncalled for. Now they'd be panicking especially my mother.

Her hands rubbed my forehead and I was forced to open my eyes to meet her tears dropping on me.

My father was sitting on the bed, heaving a sigh as he was sad. However, the one person I want to see is Mia.

There she was, still by the window staring at me when she was meant to be sitting beside me.

"How did this happen? We just got the call last night" father questioned and the only word I could say was;

"Mia"

She moved closer to me and sat at my left side, where my parents weren't and she smiled at me.

"Hey attaboy"

"Hey heroine" i responded ignoring my parents in the room. She shifted her gaze to them and grimanced.

"The doctor says he is out of danger now and would be discharged soon, so please don't get worked up" she advised in a calm tone while I held her hand, pushed her slightly to kiss her.

I just didn't care anymore, she's with me now. She tried to break out but then I placed my arms around her waist pushing her closer to me and devouring her lips.

Mom gasped as I didn't look at her facial reaction.

"Seriously Bryan?" Dad mused but I flickered my fingers at him to leave the room.
