Chapter 21: Someone Affect His Mood
Following him, she immediately called his attention, "Give me back my amulet. It's important to me,"
"Fasten your seatbelt." Michael ignored Kendra's words and was about to start his car.
"I said give my amulet back," Kendra repeated impatiently. It's the only thing that left her from someone, not totally her mother.
Suddenly, Michael got close to Kendra and stared at her. They were so close that Kendra got nervous. What did Michael want to do? Did he want to kiss her? How should she push him away? Thoughts ran through her head, and her heart started beating faster.
When Michael was about to kiss Kendra, he suddenly fastened her seatbelt for her. Her reaction amused him, but he couldn't stop admiring her beautiful face secretly.
Kendra took a deep breath and felt relieved when Michael just only buckled her seatbelt.
"You are blushing." Michael looked at Kendra and teased her.
Embarrassed, she tried to repeat her last word, "Do you hear me? Give my amulet back."
"I like it. Just give it to me." Michael started his car, and it slowly moved forward.
"It's important to me. I can't give it to you." Kendra frowned as she glanced at his side.
Without glancing at her, Michael asked again. "Why? How important is it?"
"I don't need to tell you. Just give it back to me, please." Her voice sounds irritated. Michael could feel that she lost her patience. The amulet stayed with her for a decade, and a boy gave her years ago. She had to find that boy. She's still clinging to that past memory she had that day. Keep this one, I will find you one day! The voice of that young boy played again in her mind. She can't remember his face, but she still remembers his words. That was during the time she and her Mom got in an accident. When she woke up in the hospital that day, she held that amulet tightly.
"Is it really so important to you?" Michael glanced at her side and asked her again.
"Yes, it is." Looking away through the window, she answered him. Her mind wandered.
"Fine, here you are. Don't lose it again." Michael gave the amulet to Kendra and patted her head.
"I won't!" Shocked by his sudden action, Kendra looked at him, took the amulet, and slid to her bag.
Her soft response touched Michael; though he wanted to have a fresh start with her, he can't force her this time. What's important now is, Kendra didn't forget him after so many years.
It was not a quiet night in the castle. Lendon almost smashed several expensive things inside the study room, but he still couldn't control his anger. The whole castle was in a horrible situation. No one saw Lendon be so angry like this before. He was even scarier than at full moon nights that he's into his wolf form.
Alexis stood outside the study room and saw what happened inside. He felt nervous and wiped his sweats. He wanted to calm Lendon down, but he's so scared to do it. Everyone knew how hard it is to deal with Lendon when he's in this kind of mood.
Curtis walked out of the study and sighed. "Alexis, can you help him?" He asked.
"No." Alexis shook his head, afraid to become Lendon's anger outlet.
"Mr. Martin changed a lot. He won't be like this before." Curtis said worriedly.
"Maybe it's a good thing." Alexis tried to ease Curtis's worries.
"How?" Confused by Alexis's words, Curtis glanced at him abruptly.
"Someone can finally influence his mood. Is it not good? Someone could tame him, or should I say, someone would dare to provoke him, though it ignites burning anger from him, it still a good sign, isn't it?" Alexis patted Curtis's shoulder and said, "Don't worry. Find Miss Miller, and Lendon will be at peace. He badly needed to see that woman,"
Before leaving, Alexis winked at Curtis. He surely knew that Miss Miller's sudden disappearance at the castle made Lendon furious.
"Okay." Looking relieved, Curtis agreed. Alexis's observation of Lendon has made Curtis realize that his Lord finally found someone to rack his lonely world.
At midnight, Kendra heard noisy footsteps and woke up from her dream. The footsteps are coming closer, and it made her spine shivered.
"Shit, what's happening?" Kendra turned around and murmured. She wanted to sleep again, but she was disturbed by the noise.
However, after a while, someone smashed the door. In horror, Kendra sat up immediately. Who was it? Who did that horrible sounds? Is someone trying to break the door in the middle of the night? Soon, the bedroom door opened, and Lendon appeared.
Kendra felt so shocked when she saw Lendon walking in with many bodyguards behind.
"What are you doing?" Still dazed and annoyed, she threw strong words immediately.
Lendon grabbed Kendra's shoulder and lifted her up the next moment. "Kendra, how dare you sleep outside?" He shouted at her. His emotion was filled with jealousy and anger, knowing his woman slept somewhere else.
What did Lendon mean? Kendra felt speechless and couldn't believe her ears. This psychopath threw his anger suddenly, "Are you mad?" She stared at Lendon, and her eyes were filled with hatred.
"I am mad? Should I be happy seeing you sleeping on another person's bed? Tell me? Should I be glad about it?" Lendon gripped Kendra's arm tightly. All blue veins popped out his forehead while he bent at her, "You don't come back to the castle. You don't answer my phone call. Have I treated you too kindly recently? Woman, you're testing my patience,"
"My phone is dead! And it's you who doesn't want me to come back. I was at the gate before midnight but was blocked by your main guard. I have nowhere to go except this place!" Kendra frowned and shouted back. Lendon was the one who closed the castle. And now he was blaming her for not going back? He was so unreasonable!
"It's my fault? I also told you to follow the contract rules. Didn't I make it clear to you before? Why are you always trying to wear off my patience? You can't argue with me! You're being so stubborn," Lendon glared at Kendra, he was so furious when he learned that she walked away. Did Kendra know how he found her? He almost searched the whole city. He even asked the police to help. If Curtis didn't find her through CCTV, he might still be searching for her now. And she argued with him immediately when she saw him? This is unforgivable for him.
Kendra looked at Lendon and felt so speechless. She couldn't understand why Lendon acted like this.
"What do you feel now? Angry? Annoyed? Upset?" Lendon shook her. He was so pissed off now, seeing her silence.
Kendra didn't say a word. What was wrong with Lendon now? She was too tired to argue with him.
"Say something! Why are you so quiet?" Lendon shouted fiercely.
"You told me to leave, so I did. What more can I explain? What do you want?" Kendra rubbed her eyes to prevent tears from falling.
"Kendra, can you think with your mind? Can you try to understand my thoughts? Can you think again before making decisions?" Lendon suddenly calms down, seeing Kendra about to cry. He was pissed off when he couldn't find her a few hours ago. He was worried-sick, knowing she's outside the castle.
"I am sorry. I can't." Kendra looked away and said. Lendon was a psycho, and she didn't want to put up with him anymore.
Upon hearing Kendra's answer, it again flared up Lendon's anger. He pulled her towards the door, and his men who stood next to them silently followed, "Let's go!"
"Where are we going?" She was scared by his sudden move and tried to break free from his grasp.
"You guess. You don't want to be forced, right? Don't push me to do something we both regret later on," Lendon threatened.
Understanding what Lendon means, she immediately halted her pace and pulled her hand, "You can't touch me. Alexis said you had to stay away from me."
Hearing Kendra's words, Lendon stopped his pace and stared at Kendra in disbelief. He smirked and touched her soft lips, "Do you think Alexis words could stop me? In your dreams!"
Kendra finally realized what she said. Damn it, why is she so reckless? What should she do now? She saw that Lendon often did what he wanted, and nobody could stop him.
"Now you're scared to be punished, huh?" Lendon bent closer, and his lips almost touch hers, his eyes wore a burning fire of desire, melting Kendra's defenses.
Damn it! Why did she begin to get attracted to this monster? She was drowning gradually; Lendon charm took the thin fiber that left her sanity. Kendra avoided Lendon's eyesight and felt terrified by her thoughts.
"Do you believe his words? Do you really think I can't touch you?" Lendon whispered in her ear.
"No, please stop this kind of game, Lendon," Felt aggrieved, Kendra tried her best to convince him. She was so afraid that her face got pale. Kendra knew clearly that even if Lendon didn't touch her, he still had a thousand ways to torture her. She really shouldn't say it.
"Shit!" Lendon cursed. Looking at Kendra's face, he somehow felt he was wrong.
His eyes strolled around the apartment, "Whose apartment is this?"
"A friend," Kendra answered quickly. She couldn't pull Michael into this. Lendon must hurt Michael if he knew he was helping her.
"Go home with me." Lendon grabbed Kendra's hands and ignored her answer.
Kendra struggled. She doesn't want to come back to Lendon castle. She wanted her freedom, away from him, and to live a peaceful life.
"You don't want to go?" Lendon was pissed off when he felt Kendra's struggling and hesitation.
Lost for words and afraid to annoy him, Kendra pouted her lips, "No, I just want to take my bag."
"Leave it here." Lendon roared, forcing her to drag her out of the room.
"No, I have to take it." Kendra insisted. Her amulet and money were inside the bag.
"Do it quickly! I'll wait outside," Lendon loosened Kendra's hand and said impatiently. He walked out of the room right away.
Soon, Kendra left this apartment with Lendon. She didn't dare to go against him.
