Chapter 63: What Should She Do?
"Bye, Miss Miller, don't forget to do your task, tell Lendon to come in that place," Joyce winked before she left.
"Miss Miller, do you really want Mr. Martin to go?" Curtis asked worriedly.
"Yeah, I lost the game," Kendra threw the note into a dustbin immediately, "Curtis, please don't tell him what happened today. Lendon will get mad,"
"Are you sure, Miss Miller?" Curtis followed her.
"If I tell him the truth, it will be worse." Kendra gravely said. She knew Lendon well, and she was sure about it. She could make an excuse and take Lendon there.
"But..."
"It's fine." Kendra patted Curtis's shoulder and said, "As long as we don't tell him, he won't know."
Curtis just nodded even though he was afraid of the outcome.
After an hour, Lendon finally finished his meeting. It was almost sunset when he returned to Kendra.
Kendra was sitting in the chair and absorbed with her thoughts on bringing Lendon to the hotel that Joyce was written on the note.
"What are you thinking about?" Lendon walked into her. He bent his head and kissed her lips.
She was brought back to reality as Lendon's lips touched hers. She looked at him, still a bit worried.
Lendon also looked at her and smiled. Then, he rubbed her cheek and said, "I like it when you stare at me."
Kendra quickly blushed and looked away. "The meeting is over?" She asked.
"Yes. Let's go to dinner." Lendon said and held Kendra's hand. They went to a restaurant. On their way, Kendra followed Lendon quietly and glanced at him from time to time. She was thinking about how to make an excuse.
There was no other guest in the restaurant. It was quiet and comfortable.
"Please enjoy yourselves." Then, the manager personally served the Beef Wellington that Lendon had ordered earlier, giving a pleasant smile. He also poured two glasses of wine and left soon.
"I want to eat yours," Lendon said as Kendra picked her knife and forked up.
"What's the difference?" Kendra wondered, eyes on him.
"I want to eat what you tasted." Lendon casually said, looking at her seductively.
Kendra almost forgot that Lendon had this bad hobby these days. How strange he was! Kendra had to push her plate to Lendon.
"You haven't tried yet," Lendon said calmly and stared at Kendra.
Kendra was speechless. She had to cut a piece of steak and had a try. Then, she gave the remaining part to Lendon.
Lendon felt satisfied and started eating elegantly.
Kendra couldn't concentrate. She kept glancing at Lendon and wondered what she should say to Lendon. If Lendon knew she used him as a bet, he would get mad. But if she can't keep her promise, Joyce must make trouble. She didn't want to lose her credit. What should she do?
"What do you want? You have glanced at me 128 times." Lendon suddenly raised his head and told her.
Did he count it? She thought. Kendra felt nervous and looked at Lendon seriously. He was cutting her steak into pieces elegantly.
"I..." Kendra hesitated. What should she say? Should she make an excuse? Or should she ask him out directly?
"What's up? I see you are troubled." Lendon put his knife down and said. He wiped his mouth and stared at her, waiting for her answer.
Kendra could hear her own heartbeat at this moment, "I just want to..." She rubbed her neck and felt hard to continue.
"Just say it. You have been absent-minded since we started our dinner. What? What you are going to say will make me mad?" Lendon frowned and asked impatiently.
"No," Kendra made up her mind. She needed to do her plan, "I just want to take you out for dinner." Fine, it was not that hard.
Hearing Kendra's words, Lendon became interested immediately and asked, "You want to ask me out?"
"Yes." Kendra nodded, feeling embarrassed.
Lendon rubbed his lips slowly and smiled. Then, he looked at her and asked, "Kendra, do you admit that you fall in love with me?"
"What?" Kendra was lost for words. Indeed, Lendon misunderstood her behavior.
"I care about you. You don't like me at first, but now you have changed your mind. So just admit that you have finally fallen in love with me." Lendon smiled confidently, teasing her.
What was he talking about? She barely understood his words as her mind was busy thinking of some ways to lure him. Kendra was confused.
Lendon stood up and walked to her. He stopped in front of Kendra and touched her chest.
"What are you doing?" Kendra recoiled in horror and asked. Was he out of his mind?
"I want to feel your heartbeats." Lendon smiled, "Listen, it beats quickly."
Gosh! Anyone would get nervous when Lendon got so close like this. Kendra was not an exemption.
"It's not what you think." Kendra pushed Lendon's hand away and explained.
"Are you sure?" Lendon bent over and said, "You get blushed. Just admit that you like me."
It seemed that Lendon had convinced himself that she liked him. Fine, Kendra decided to keep silent because she needed to persuade him for tomorrow's dinner.
Lendon thought Kendra just got shy, but he had got the answer he wanted. "Let me think. When do you like me? Why don't you tell me?" He stared at Kendra and asked.
Kendra looked away and smiled awkwardly. "Let's think about where to have dinner tomorrow. I knew a place called Garden Hotel. It seems nice." She quickly changed the topic.
"You want to go there?" Lendon asked in surprise.
Kendra hesitated. Did she say something wrong? Did Lendon notice her purpose? "Is there a problem?" She looked at him, knees shaking under the table.
"No, I just don't know you are so eager to invite me," Lendon pinched Kendra's cheek and laughed.
Kendra didn't know what Lendon meant, but she didn't care. "Do you want to go or not?" She asked.
"Of course! I accepted your invitation," Lendon said and raised his eyebrows. He rubbed Kendra's chin, tilted her face, and kissed her lips. He was just so happy as he thought Kendra took the initiative.
After a while, Kendra pushed him away. It was a long dinner. Kendra had to make a lie for tomorrow's dinner. She only hoped that everything would be fine tomorrow.
This evening, Kendra slept lightly in Lendon's arms.
"Kendra, I will kill you if you try to run away." Lendon suddenly said.
Kendra woke up immediately. She looked to Lendon in darkness and saw him closing his eyes and holding her waist tightly. How terrible! Lendon even wanted to control her even in his dream. Kendra somehow felt horrible.
The next day, Lendon didn't go to work. He wanted to choose the dress for Kendra in person. Unluckily, he couldn't find a lovely dress after checking those that were brought in front of him. Therefore, he asked Curtis to come in and said, "Why do these dresses look so ugly? Tell them to send a new collection. Or you can bring the designer here to make a dress for Kendra."
"No, it's not necessary." Kendra refused immediately.
"No, it's the first time that you ask me out. We have to be formal." Lendon insisted.
Kendra felt worried. Lendon seemed to misunderstand her, but it was too late to explain.
After half an hour, a new collection appeared in Kendra's cloakroom.
"Mr. Martin, this is the newest collection," Curtis said and walked away.
Lendon looked at them and picked a lacy dress. "It looks good." He said.
This dress was perfectly designed and could attract everyone's attention.
Kendra looked at the dress and thought it was not suitable for her figure. "Lendon, it is not my style." She chimed.
"You don't like it?" Lendon asked.
"It won't suit me," Kendra explained.
"I don't think so." Lendon handed the dress to her and said, "Try it first."
Kendra sighed and went to the fitting room. As soon as she put the dress on, Joyce texted her to remind her not to forget tonight's appointment. How did Joyce know her number? Surely, it was easy for Joyce to find her number. Kendra texted Joyce back and told her that everything was ready. Soon, she walked out of the fitting room.
Lendon also put on a new suit. A world-famous designer designed it, and the buttons were made of diamonds. Lendon looked so noble and handsome in it.
As Kendra walked out, Lendon smiled and appreciated her appearance, "You look gorgeous."
Kendra looked at herself in the mirror and felt worried. This dress didn't belong to her, and she didn't feel comfortable.
"My woman is the best." Lendon hugged Kendra from behind and gently nibbled her ear.
"Lendon..." She almost shrank on the ground as she felt shy the way he flirted with her.
Lendon held Kendra's waist, turned her around, and suddenly devoured her lips.
Kendra almost couldn't breathe.
Lendon looked at Kendra and asked, "Kendra, do you like me?"
Kendra stared at him and said nothing.
"Your heartbeats quicken again. So that's your answer, right?" Lendon smiled evilly and asked. He looked like a child who got candies.
Somehow, Kendra felt upset.
"Let's go," Lendon held Kendra's hand and walked out.
Kendra stopped walking and stared at Lendon's back.
"What's wrong?" Lendon turned around and asked confusedly.
Kendra hesitated for a while and shook her head. "Nothing. You just look happy today," She smiled at him, feeling guilty.
"Of course, this is our first date. Let's go. The car is waiting." Lendon smiled back.
"Okay," Kendra nodded and followed him.
