Chapter 49: It Was Incredible
Hearing Lendon's words, Kendra felt so scared. Sometimes she couldn't really understand him because he often got angry for no reason. She had endured his bad temper and habits, but how long could she take all of it?
"But I can't do it. I hate when you're going against my will, but I can't bear to hurt you. Even often, you annoyed me," Lendon suddenly said and stared at Kendra's pretty face. After a while, Lendon threw Kendra's hand away and left the gym.
Kendra sat on the ground with sweats on her forehead. She was so scared earlier, thinking that Lendon might hurt her. But, hearing his words before he left, she's puzzled. What does he mean by saying he can't do it?
Soon, Curtis walked in. He looked at Kendra worriedly, stretching his hand to help her up, "Are you okay, Miss Miller? I was holding my breath earlier, praying that Mr. Martin won't hurt you. Luckily he hadn't done anything,"
Kendra smiled, "Thank you, Curtis. I am fine." She patted her butt after he got up, reassuring Curtis she's okay.
"I heard everything, Miss Miller, and thank you for persuading him. I shouldn't have forced you to help us convince Mr. Martin, but I know you're the only one who could stop him. He had gone with Doctor Trump when he left." Curtis looked at Kendra with appreciation, still feeling sad for her. In fact, he even felt a little shocked. For these years, Lendon's mania had become his nightmare. When Lendon got angry, no one could control him, but when Kendra arrived in the castle, things had changed, and she easily calmed Lendon down by just saying something. It was a big miracle.
"That's good. I need to go back now." Kendra said with a pale face.
Curtis nodded and walked Kendra out.
In the next few days, Kendra didn't see Lendon. They said he was on a business trip, so Kendra didn't ask more. She just studied alone and felt a little relieved without his presence.
Lendon was in Paris now. He stood in front of the window inside the room of his hotel accommodation and held a glass of wine. He looked at the tiny neon light colors that gave light to the city without any facial expression. A few days ago, he left the castle, and he was suddenly feeling so sad without any reason. He can't figure out why he's been restless recently.
The bathroom door was opened, and a beautiful woman wearing a towel walked out. She was damn so hot and a sexy blonde. She walked to Lendon and hugged his waist from behind. He could feel her movement as the woman pressed her ample bosom firmly against his back.
"Mr. Martin, I am ready." The blonde whispered to Lendon's ear.
Lendon put his glass down and dragged the blonde in front of him. He rubbed her cheek as if he appreciated a work of art. "You are beautiful." Lendon smiled, and his hands fell to her breast, gently kneading them. She woman smiled and let out a seductive moan.
The blonde was not shy at all. She held Lendon's neck and kissed him passionately. After that, they just stood in front of the window and touched each other. When Lendon's clothes were taken off, and they went to bed, Lendon suddenly stopped. His desire suddenly faded away. He can't figure out what's going on with him.
"What's up?" The blonde looked at Lendon surprisingly and asked.
"Nothing." Lendon smiled and answered. He continued to feel the sexy body lying beneath him. Finally, however, when it came to the last step, Lendon stopped again. No! No! No! I can't make it! I don't want this woman. Small voices ran wild on his head, torturing his mind.
"Mr. Martin…"
"Get out!" Lendon pushed the woman away. His face darkened, and it sent shivers to the woman's spine. The blonde got scared, seeing his dark expression.
The woman was absorbed in Lendon's precious touch a few moments ago, but everything changed quickly. She looked at Lendon sadly, trying to persuade him to continue what they are doing, "Mr. Martin, I wanted to feel you inside my body,"
"I said get out!" Lendon shouted impatiently and threw a pillow on her face.
Scared, the woman grabbed her dress and ran out immediately.
Lendon smashed everything on the night table angrily and still couldn't calm down. What was wrong with him? Why couldn't he be interested in these women? He had tried several times! He didn't even want to touch them! It made no sense at all!
Lendon got up in anger and got dressed. Then, he told Curtis to come in.
Curtis could feel the tension inside the room. He stood next to Lendon and waiting for his order. In his opinion, Lendon was getting weirder and weirder recently. He didn't know what Lendon was thinking about. And he couldn't understand many things that Lendon did. As he strode to Lendon's room, he saw the woman halfway, seeing the tears running on her cheeks; obviously, she was kicked out by him. Lendon chose the woman himself, but she was rejected within less than half an hour. Did Lendon…
Curtis kept thinking about what had happened? He was drawn to his own thoughts when Vincen't voice rang.
"Bring me another woman, Curtis,"
Curtis was stunned, and said "My Lord, you are not satisfied with that lady? She is beautiful, and I think she came from a decent family."
Lendon didn't say a word, threw a glance at Curtis. He looked vulnerable.
"Curtis, you said I like Kendra." Lendon leaned against the chair, and his face was exhausted. He rubbed his chin and looked serious.
"Um," Curtis hesitated and asked, "Did you feel weird things? Did that happen again?"
"I think I am sick." Lendon clenched his fists, knuckles whitened.
"What really happened, My Lord?" Curtis stared back at him, wondering why Lendon acted like a lovestruck teenager.
"I don't know. I have been thinking about Kendra recently. I feel sad if I can't see her. Even if I stay with other women, I just think about her." Lendon grabbed the wine glass near him, swallowed the rest of the wine with a gulp, and threw a glass on the ground annoyingly.
"You are not sick, Mr. Martin." Curtis smiled at him.
"No, I am so sick, Curtis," Lendon furrowed his eyebrows, "How can a girl control me? It is impossible." He grabbed his hair and looked helpless.
"Sir, I think that you are not willing to face your feelings," Curtis said carefully.
"Am I?" Lendon raised his face, asking sullenly. Sure, sometimes, he didn't know what he thought.
"You know, it is not strange to love someone. Even if you are a noble duke, you are also a human. So it's normal for you to have feelings. Besides, Miss Miller is different from other women. Accept it or not, she's the only one who dares to annoy you often," Curtis blurted out his thoughts, hoping he could help Lendon to figure out his real feelings.
"How is she different?" Lendon asked confusedly.
"She is stubborn and persistent. After so many bad things happened to her, she could still find her happiness. Most importantly, she is not greedy. She is satisfied with what she has and never wants anything that doesn't belong to her." Curtis explained everything in detail. Though he knew Kendra just for a short time, he could tell that she was a good woman. Someone who has enough courage to rise against life's struggles.
"So I may like a normal girl?" Lendon seemed to realize something after hearing Curtis's words.
"Sir, do you worry that Miss Miller doesn't match with your noble status? Are you afraid that the palace will not accept her?" Curtis queried.
"No." Lendon shook his head. He was a duke! No one could compare to him, anyway. So why did he bother to care about her status at all?
"I just think that she is not as hot or pretty or thoughtful as those women. She even argues with me often. He made me furious most of the time," Lendon raised his eyebrows, hesitating. "But I just have feelings for her. Is it love?"
"I guess you figure it out, sir," Curtis nodded and smiled. Then, finally, he could breathe, hearing that Lendon had admitted his feelings.
"This is love. I love Kendra, Curtis. No matter what her status is, even the palace and the elders will despise her, I don't care anymore," Lendon murmured. Suddenly, a gentle smile brightened his face, "Curtis, I need to go back to the castle immediately," Lendon stood quickly.
"But we haven't finished our purpose here, sir. You have a meeting tomorrow. It's important," Curtis reminded him.
"No, I need to go back right now." Lendon firmly said.
"Sir, it's an important meeting. We can't delay it," Curtis stopped Lendon and tried to persuade him, "Just one more day here. I will buy a ticket for us. We will go back as soon as the meeting ends. Miss Miller is in the castle. She won't leave. I'm sure you all have the time to be with her,"
