Chapter 41: He Was So Jealous
He sneered at her, but after a few moments, he started to taste the food.
"They taste good." Then, staring at him, Kendra gave him a sweet smile that indicated she defeated him.
Lendon frowned and hesitated to continue eating the food. He didn't know if he should believe her. After a while, he finally had to continue having it. When seeing how happy she was right now, Lendon was even more delighted. She was just so simple, he thought.
"How is that?" Kendra raised her face, looking at him, and asked with expectation.
"The taste isn't so special, but it's quite good," Lendon answered coldly, not wanting to accept his defeat. This woman really wanted to embarrass him.
"Forget about it. Give your sandwich to me, then," Annoyed by his answer, she snorted and pouted her lips.
"No." Lendon glanced at her, ignoring what she said, and continued to eat.
After they finished their dinner, Lendon wanted to pay the bill and quickly took his card from his wallet.
"How much is the total bill?" he asked immediately.
"38 dollars in total." The owner replied.
"No password." Lendon handed a credit card to the owner.
"We only take cash here." The owner politely answered and smiled.
Amused by Lendon's quick action, Kendra took some money out, "Here's the cash bill,"
Lendon was shocked, why there's still a shabby restaurant that remained outdated. How could they run this restaurant by only receiving cash payments?
Soon, they walked out of the restaurant and walked along the alley. Lendon, obviously sulking, looked annoyed and didn't talk, so Kendra also imitated his silence. She knew he wanted to pay the bills, but since the restaurant didn't accept cards, that alone make him annoyed.
After going back to the castle, Kendra felt her wound still hurt. Damn! Lendon bit her shoulder earlier and didn't allow her to deal with it. Kendra decided to go to Alexis secretly. She can't let this wound cause a scar on her skin.
When she arrived, Alexis was so busy with some stuff. He hadn't noticed Kendra's presence.
"Alexis, do you have an ointment?" Standing next to him, Kendra called his attention.
Alexis almost drops the tool his holding in his hands. He was startled when he heard her voice came in suddenly.
"Kendra, you startled me," He chuckled.
Kendra smiled awkwardly, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do it. Did you have some ointment?"
"Why? What kind of ointment do you need?" Alexis looked at her in surprise.
"There is a small wound on my shoulder. Do you have some ointment here?" Kendra repeated her question.
"You've wounded again?" Alexis asked.
"Yes," Kendra answered quickly. She doesn't want to stay longer in this lab, afraid that Lendon will see her.
"Let me see it first," Alexis walked to her. He just wanted to see how deep the wound was, before he gives her the exact ointment to cure it.
Upon hearing Alexis's response, Kendra hesitated for a while.
"Don't be scared. I just want to check it and perhaps clean it first before giving you the right ointment. I am a professional doctor, it is my duty to check the patient before giving some treatment," Alexis gently smiled.
"Okay." Convinced, Kendra showed Alexis the teeth prints on her shoulder.
"What happened?" Alexis stared at Kendra, shocked when he saw those teeth prints. He knew it was not a normal wound.
"Um, Lendon bit me." Kendra blushed, looking away immediately. She felt so embarrassed.
"Okay, got it. I will help you. It seems Lendon was being attracted to you lately," He teased her.
Anyone who saw this wound will think that Lendon intimately did something to her.
Alexis wanted to laugh, but he didn't want to embarrass her, so he had to control his facial expression, acting professionally.
Noticing his reaction, "You can laugh if you want." Kendra sighed and rolled her eyes. She noticed that Alexis could barely control his smile, and obviously, he doesn't want to make her feel awful.
"Yes, I do want to laugh…."
Before Alexis finished his words, someone kicked the door of the lab, and the next second, Kendra was pulled away.
Kendra screamed in terror. She stepped back to keep her balance. Before she found out what happened, a man rushed to Alexis and kicked his ass.
Alexis fell down.
It was Lendon!
"Mr. Martin." Alexis was trembling and wanted to stand up.
But Lendon punched Alexis's face again, it caused him to bleed.
"What are you doing? Stop it!" Kendra ran to Lendon and shouted. She grabbed Lendon's arm immediately, afraid that he will hurt Alexis mercilessly.
Lendon pulled Kendra away and grabbed Alexis's collar. "Who told you to help her?" He growled.
"I…" Alexis couldn't find his words. He was so scared seeing how angry Lendon was at this moment.
"How dare you touch my woman? I will kill you." Lendon yelled and waved his fist to hit him again. But before it landed on Alexis, Kendra stopped him.
"Stop! Stop it, Lendon. Are you crazy? You're going to kill him?" Kendra held Lendon's arm tightly and shouted at him furiously.
"What are you doing? Remove your hands off me," Lendon glared at her and yelled back. Didn't he say earlier not to treat the wound because he wanted to leave something on her body? But Kendra just didn't listen to him! And how could she ask another man to help her! His possessiveness was making him look like a different person.
Kendra squatted in front of Alexis, covering him, "Are you out of your mind? I asked Alexis to help me! Why don't you just punch my face instead of hurting him brutally? He is innocent and just doing his job, why are you so mean?" She almost cried.
"Do you love him?" Hearing Kendra's words, Lendon asked in anger. Why did Kendra protect Alexis?
She couldn't believe what she heard from him. What the hell? Kendra felt speechless. What was Lendon thinking this time? He's gone too far.
"Are you crazy? How could you accuse me? You're impossible," Tears began to slip down her cheeks. Finally, she can't hold it anymore. She was angry with him.
"Oh, yes, I'm crazy! I saw him staring at you intimately. I can tell what he was thinking about you. I'm a man and could easily notice when someone was affectionate or just doing his job," Lendon snapped back and sneered at her.
Lendon was insane because of his jealousy. Kendra felt so angry hearing Lendon's stupid reason. "You are a psycho! I asked Alexis to treat my wound. Here's the thing, I was so mad that you bit me earlier, so I decided to sneak into his lab, asking to treat it," She screamed and glared at Lendon.
"Miss Miller, I am fine." Alexis patted Kendra's shoulder, and he was already sobered. He knew that Lendon has this kind of paranoia.
"Did you hear that? He said he is fine." Lendon said calmly, trying to persuade her as he was so sad to see her crying. It was up to him how he treated his employees. Kendra shouldn't shout at him.
"I'm sorry, Alexis, that I cause you trouble," She ignored Lendon. She turned to Alexis and apologized immediately. She wiped her tears but still was so mad at Lendon.
"It's okay." Alexis stood up and kept a distance from her. He doesn't want to offend Lendon again.
Kendra knew it was her fault and felt so guilty.
"Follow me." Lendon grabbed Kendra's hand, aiming to leave this place.
"Let me go!" Kendra shouted loudly and escaped Lendon's hand.
Lendon stared at Kendra so shockingly. Kendra had never been so angry with him. How dare she? Lendon wanted to say something, but Kendra walked out without looking at him.
Lendon couldn't accept Kendra's attitude and yelled, "Kendra, stop!"
Kendra didn't even stop her pace. Instead, she sped up and disappeared quickly.
An hour later, Lendon stood in the living room and smashed everything he could see.
Curtis and all maids stood still and all lowered their heads. No one dared to make any noise.
"What the fuck!" Lendon cursed.
Curtis sighed. Miss Miller could always trigger Mr. Martin's anger. What was going on again? Curtis wanted to appease Lendon's anger, but he knew he would not calm down.
"Curtis!" Lendon turned to Curtis, who's now bowing his head.
Curtis trembled and said, "Yes, My Lord."
"Bring Kendra here! I am going to punish her!" Enraged, he ordered him.
"Don't be angry, My Lord. You don't have to do it yourself. We can help you." Curtis said carefully, "I will tell your bodyguards to do it."
"Wait!" Lendon glared at Curtis and said, "Don't do that."
"My Lord, you don't want to hurt Miss Miller, I guess," Curtis smiled, carefully giving his opinion. He heard that Lendon beat Doctor Trump out of jealousy.
"No, I hate her!" Lendon said coldly, pacing in front of his people.
"You shouldn't beat Doctor Trump." Curtis said bravely, "He just did what Miss Miller had asked her. I bet he doesn't have any other intimate thoughts to Kendra,"
"Are you saying I was wrong?" Lendon growled. He glanced at Curtis impatiently and sat down on the sofa.
"I think so, but that was because you care about Miss Miller so much," Curtis said.
What? Lendon finally realized how ridiculous he was. Did he care about Kendra?
"Get out, all of you. I don't want to see anybody," Lendon felt annoyed and shouted at them.
