Chapter 27: Her Cake
A sweet smile filled her pretty face, "Yes." Kendra proudly said.
Looking at her proud reaction, Lendon teased her, "They are so ugly." He waited for her response after a while.
Kendra felt frustrated immediately and lowered her head without saying a word.
Lendon wanted to burst into laughter, but he's in the mood to tease her. He picked a cake up and tried carefully. After a while, he said, "It tastes fine."
"Really?" Looking so adorable, she can't help but felt happy hearing his comment.
"I don't believe that you made it," Lendon added, still pretending not to be impressed with her cooking skill.
"Then who made it?" Kendra frowned and murmured.
"How can you cook them?" Lendon asked. He glanced at Kendra and left the kitchen.
Kendra felt so angry. How could Lendon be so mean? Fine, she didn't care if he liked her cake or not. Her lips protruded into a thin curve, rolling her eyes.
"Fine, since Mr. Martin didn't like them, you can have it," Kendra said and handed cakes to other maidservants.
When a maidservant was about to bite the cake, Lendon suddenly shouted, "Who dares to eat them?"
Kendra turned around and saw Lendon standing outside the kitchen and glaring at her. "Kendra, you said you made them for me!" His sharp glared like a dagger that was ready to slash someone.
"I think you don't like them. Childish!" Kendra murmured.
"I don't care. You can't give them to others." Leaning lazily at the door, he said.
Fine, Lendon was always so unreasonable.
The maidservants put the cakes back on the table and left immediately.
Kendra felt so speechless and cursed Lendon in her mind.
"Kendra, don't try to curse me secretly," Lendon warned, realizing what she's thinking at this moment.
Kendra wondered if Lendon could read her mind.
"Bring them to my room." He ordered and left her alone.
Kendra stared at Lendon's back and kept telling herself to calm down. She shouldn't be angry with him.
Kendra went to Lendon's room and put the cakes on his table. Suddenly, her phone rang. It was Bianca. Kendra walked out of Lendon's room and answered the phone.
"Hi, Bianca." She lowered her voice down.
"Are you free now?" Bianca asked immediately.
Kendra looked at her watch and found it was near 7 pm, time for dinner.
"What's wrong?" Kendra asked.
"Um," Bianca hesitated and said, "Mom and dad want you to have dinner with us."
Kendra frowned and hesitated. To have dinner with them? What happened? Why would they want her to go back home? Robert said she could never go back to their house again.
"Kendra, are you listening?" Bianca asked carefully.
"What happened, Bianca?" Confused, Kendra asked. Her instinct told her that if everything were fine, Robert and Marga would never want her back.
Bianca hesitated and didn't answer Kendra's question. After a while, she said, "Anyway, just come back."
Before Kendra said anything, Bianca hung up in a hurry.
Kendra looked at her phone and felt so confused. What happened? Why did they ask her to go back? While she was hesitating, Bianca sent her a text and asked her to come back home soon. There must be something wrong. Kendra bit her lips and decided to come home. She needed to find the reason why those people badly forced her to come home, but she had to ask Lendon's permission.
Kendra knocked on Lendon's door and walked in quietly.
Lendon was browsing some files. He didn't look at her, but he asked, "What's wrong?"
"I want to go out for a while," Kendra said carefully.
"No." Lendon refused her immediately.
Kendra knew he wouldn't agree, but she still had to get his approval. So she walked near him and said, "It's important. I need to go home. I promise I will be back before 11. Please?!" Kendra put her palms together and begged.
Lendon raised his head to look at her. "You want to go back home?" His voice was full of doubts.
"Yes." She nodded, hoping he'll give her permission.
Lendon rubbed his lips and stared at Kendra.
"I will be back on time. You can let your driver sent me home and pick me up." Kendra added.
"Why should I say yes?" He straightened his body and leaned against the chair.
Kendra thought for a while and said, "Even the president of the US deserves a holiday, right?"
"Fine, if you can make me happy, I can let you go." Lendon smiled evilly and beckoned her to come closer. He crossed his arms on his chest, looking like a tyrant who's giving orders to his servant.
"What do you mean?" Kendra frowned, stay rooted on the ground, ignoring his gesture.
"Guess it." An evil smile formed at the corner of his mouth.
How could she know what could make him happy? Kendra stared at Lendon and slowly walked closer to him. She bent over quickly and kissed Lendon. She immediately blushed and left Lendon's lips.
"Are you happy now?" Anxiety filled her eyes while waiting for his words. Her heart beats so quickly. It was the first time for her to kiss Lendon initiatively. It was so embarrassing.
Lendon raised his eyebrows and stood up. He looked down on Kendra's face and said, "It's not enough."
"What do you…."
Before Kendra finished her words, Lendon held her waist and pulled her into his arms. Lendon kissed her thin lips. It went on for a few seconds and went deeper for a while, and she could taste his warm tongue invading hers, forcing her to respond. A moan escaped her mouth.
Kendra closed her eyes and grabbed Lendon's shirt nervously. After a long time, when Kendra felt it hard to breathe, Lendon finally loosened her.
Kendra leaned against Lendon's chest and felt dizzy.
"You can go now." Lendon happily announced. He was satisfied for now.
Kendra nodded obediently and dashed.
After Kendra left, Lendon rubbed his lips slowly and recalled Kendra's smell. He glanced at Kendra's cakes and picked one up, and ate it. It was so delicious, just like Kendra's lips. Lendon smiled and finished all the cakes soon.
"Curtis." Lendon's voice rang.
"My Lord," Curtis walked in.
"Bring all cakes here." He ordered.
"But it is time for dinner." Curtis looked at his watch and said.
"Do as I said," Lendon said coldly.
"Noted, my Lord" Curtis left immediately.
Kendra walked out of the castle and went home directly. Standing in front of her home, Kendra felt so anxious. When she left here, she was seriously hurt. And now she came back again. Kendra somehow felt that it was so strange to come back to this house that left her a painful memory, though she lived here for more than 20 years. Should she go in?
"Kendra, why didn't you tell us you arrived?" Bianca suddenly appeared, giving her most gentle smile.
"Why do you ask me to go back?" Kendra queried, confusedly looking at her step-sister, who acted so strange. She observed every move she made. Kendra's instinct tells her that there's something wrong with her.
"Come in first." Bianca pulled Kendra in.
Bianca and Kendra talked while walking. When they got to the living room, Kendra halted her pace. Looking at the entire house, it appeared strange to her this time.
Robert and Marga were sitting in the living room. Seeing Kendra coming in, they looked at each other.
"Kendra, you come back. It's time for dinner." Marga weirdly smiled. She pretended that nothing happened before and showed a passionate gesture for Kendra this time.
Compared with Marga, Robert looked cold and arrogant. He stood up and walked to the dining room without saying anything.
Kendra stood there and felt so uncomfortable. Her father seemed not happy seeing her again.
"Kendra, come. Don't stand there." Bianca urged her.
