Chapter 71: Do You Want To Go With Me?
Suddenly she was shocked to hear Anne's words. Kendra felt confused.
"If it were not for her scheme, I wouldn't have left. I thought she just wanted to fire some old employees, but it turned out that she intended to get rid of Mrs. Miller and you, one by one." Anne's face turned gloomy, and she gritted her teeth.
"What are you talking about, Anne? I don't understand." Anne's words added more confusion to Kendra. What really happened in the past? She was still naive in those younger days, clueless about the things that had happened.
"Miss Miller, it was not an accident. Someone planned it." Anne stared at Kendra, an apparent anger filling her voice.
"What?!" Kendra asked shockingly.
Did someone kill her mom on purpose? Did someone plot an evil plan for her mother?
"It's true. For these years, I have been suspecting Marga. So it must be her." Anne said without a blink.
"Are you sure? I was there, too." Kendra quickly said. She remembered clearly what happened that day. How could that be planned?
"You were lucky to survive. The accident was strange. It was Marga's plan." Anne said, "Haven't you ever thought why Mr. Miller didn't get in the car that day? Why did he suddenly change his plan?"
Kendra's face turned pale. It seemed the accident back then was a perfect plan. She recalled the scenes that day.
"Dad, you must keep your promise, or I will be angry with you." Little Kendra stared at her father, pouting her tiny lips.
"Kendra is dad's princess. Have a good time with mom. Dad will go with you next time."
"Dad, don't lie to me!"
"I won't. Yolanda, take care of Kendra. I will miss you both."
"Okay, bye."
Yolanda grabbed Kendra's hands after saying goodbye to her husband. Unfortunately, the car got into an accident which took Yolanda's life, while someone saved Kendra.
Kendra recalled everything clearly. Robert did change his plan at the last minute before they embarked.
"You were too young, and I didn't have any evidence. So I had to keep silent. It didn't make me think that Marga would also want to kick you out of the Miller household. That evil woman, she must need to pay for what she has done to your mother," An anger exploded in Anne's heart.
"Is that true, Anne?" Hearing Anne's confession, Kendra felt sad.
"I am not totally sure since I have no evidence at all. But according to things that happened later, it should be true." Anne added, "Mr. Miller had an affair with Marga four years after he got married to your mom. And they had Bianca, yet Mrs. Miller still forgave him. A sudden accident happened the following year, and when Mrs. Miller passed away, Mr. Miller married Marga soon after. They removed all employees that were related to your mother, and he took over the company."
Her mom did not die in an accident. Someone may kill her. Kendra couldn't believe it. "So, dad may be one of the murderers?" She almost burst into tears. How could her own father kill her mother?
Kendra felt horrible when she asked this question. This would be a big revelation if everything were true!
"Miss Miller, I don't have evidence. So I am not sure about it. But, you should find ways to seek justice for your mom," Anne encouraged her.
That was right. There was no evidence.
"Kendra, how much longer do you need?" Lendon suddenly appeared and shouted in anger.
Kendra looked ahead and saw Lendon walking to her quickly.
"What's up?" Kendra gazed at him.
"You have been here for more than an hour. It's too long." Lendon grabbed Kendra's hand and complained. He was so pissed off. How could Kendra keep him waiting for such a long time? What the hell?
"Miss Miller, who is this?" Anne stepped back, staring at the man who wore a gloomy face. She was shocked by Lendon's sudden appearance and anger.
Lendon looked at Anne and felt upset.
Kendra didn't come back because of this old woman?
"Anne, this is Mr. Martin." Kendra introduced, "Lendon, this is Anne. She is my nanny."
"I don't care who she is. Do you know how mad I am right now? You spent too much time here." Lendon shouted.
"How can you shout at Miss Miller like that?" Anne frowned, crossing her arms across her chest.
"None of your business." Lendon glanced at Anne, glaring at her.
"Lendon, we can go back now." Kendra softly said and looked to Anne, trying to calm down, "Anne, do you live alone? Do you want to go with me?"
"You want to take her with you?" Lendon glared at her when he heard Kendra's last words.
Kendra glared at him back and continued to say, "Anne, you should go with me. I can take care of you. You can't live alone."
She couldn't let Anne lead a poor and lonely life. Anne was with her all the time when she was a child, and she should take care of her.
"Miss Miller..." A hesitation was visible on Anne's face.
"Kendra, are you ignoring me?" Lendon interrupted them and shouted again.
"What's wrong with you? Stop being unreasonable, will you?" Kendra tried to pull her hand, but Lendon held it tightly.
"I..."
"Shut up, please!" Kendra was now furious by Lendon's possessive behavior.
Lendon didn't expect Kendra's sudden anger and felt surprised.
"Anne, come with me. I will take care of you." Kendra held Anne's hand, dragging Anne's hand with her free hand afterward.
"But..." Anne hesitated.
"There is no but. It would be best if you stayed with me. But, if you want to leave in the future, I won't stop you." Kendra tried to convince her, ignoring Lendon.
Anne finally nodded.
However, Lendon almost lost control. During their way back to the car, he had been glaring at Kendra.
Curtis saw Lendon approaching with a sour facial expression and knew something must be wrong. He stepped back to avoid Lendon's anger but failed.
"Curtis, why didn't you stop me? Did you forget I am allergic to lavender?" Lendon blamed Curtis immediately.
"My Lord, I tried to stop you, but you..." Curtis lowered his head and explained.
"Who is the boss here? You or me?" Lendon obviously vented his anger to Curtis since he can't push his tantrum to Kendra. Kendra rolled her eyes yet remained silent. Anne was also shocked by Lendon's manipulative attitude.
"I am sorry, sir." Curtis apologized.
"Lendon, if you are unhappy, just leave it to me. Don't bother other people." Kendra couldn't hold her anger too, she can't let Curtis become the outlet of Lendon's rage.
"You! Kendra Miller!" Lendon shouted, quickly climbing to the car.
"Miss Miller, what happened?" Curtis let out a long sigh.
"I want to take my nanny back with me, and he is upset. Ignore him, I will handle him later," Kendra said, "Curtis, can you help me find a hospital? I want Anne to do a thorough examination."
"Yes. I will arrange it now." Curtis looked at Anne. He somehow felt relieved that someone was still alive and would care about Kendra.
"Miss Anne, you get into the other car. I will assign someone to assess you," Curtis said.
"Thank you, Curtis," She smiled at him.
Anne got in another car and went back first.
Lendon sat quietly inside the car and said nothing. Once Anne was gone, Kendra got inside the car and kept silent. Again, no one said a word, and a deadly atmosphere occurred inside the car. The driver and Curtis almost held their breath to avoid Lendon's anger. However, Lendon didn't need a reason to get mad.
"Why did you get inside my car?" Lendon glanced at Kendra and began to argue.
Kendra felt speechless. Lendon insisted on coming with her. She wouldn't have had to take his car. She rolled her eyes and pretended to ignore him.
"Kendra!" Lendon spoke loudly and grabbed Kendra's arm, "Are you ignoring me? How dare you?"
"Lendon, enough. I don't want to argue with you today." Kendra felt tired and had not enough energy to fight with him. What Anne told her was too much to bear, and she needed time to figure it out. But Lendon wouldn't just give her some space.
"I must be too nice to you recently. Kendra, don't forget who you are. I can always destroy you. So mind your attitude to me!" Lendon shouted again.
Kendra took a deep breath and told herself to calm down.
"Say something! Why don't you speak?" Lendon tightened his grip and shouted.
Fuck! Kendra couldn't bear him anymore. "Lendon, can you stop now? Don't push my limit. Please be quiet for a while!" She threw Lendon's hand away and yelled back.
Lendon was shocked. Kendra shouted to him again.
The driver and Curtis both glanced at Kendra and admired her courage.
The next second, Lendon clenched his fists and breathed quickly.
Kendra didn't care about his anger at all. She was used to it.
"Stop this car!" Lendon ordered.
The driver stopped immediately and threw a glance at Curtis.
Lendon opened the door and pushed Kendra out of the car. "Get off! Don't let me see you again." He was so furious and lost control.
"Drive!"
It's late for Kendra to react. The car disappeared soon.
Kendra stood at the road and couldn't believe it. "Damn! Lendon, you are crazy!" She shouted.
How could Lendon leave her alone on the deserted road? What was wrong with him? Kendra felt so angry and stamped her feet. However, she forgot her feet were hurt the other night. Fuck! Damn Lendon! She cursed him inwardly. How could a man be so mean and rude like him? Fine, she didn't want to see him anymore, either. He'd better never come back to find her.
