Chapter 36: He Was So Nervous

He called her name several times, but still no answer from her. He lost patience. Lendon grabbed the door, trying to open it, but he found it was locked. So he had to keep on knocking and shouted, "Kendra, what are you doing? Come out!"
No one responded. Lendon got impatient and frowned, shouting, "Kendra, open the fucking door!"
What was Kendra doing? Lendon lost his temper and shouted again, "I will break into your room if you don't open the door!" He threatened, but deep inside his heart, he was nervous.
Still, no one answered him. Lendon stared at the door and suddenly had a terrible thought. Did Kendra commit suicide because she was desperate? It was possible, Kendra was a strong woman, but she could be weak sometimes. Thinking about Kendra lying on the ground with blood around her, Lendon felt anxious and heartbroken. He grabbed his hair and made up his mind to save Kendra. She can't die.
Lendon looked at the door and knew clearly that he couldn't kick it off. The door was specially designed with high-quality steel and glass, and it's impossible to break. Lendon panicked and suddenly went downstairs.
"Give me a ladder." Lendon roared. Everyone was afraid to see him in this state.
"May I ask why?" A bodyguard asked curiously.
"Fuck off, do as I said. Just do it! Dammit!" Lendon shouted in rage.
Lendon ran out of the castle and told his bodyguards to lean the ladder against the wall where Kendra's room was. He took his coat off and prepared to climb to Kendra's room through the ladder.
Curtis saw Lendon's move and felt nervous. "My Lord, what are you doing?" He asked.
"Kendra didn't open the door. I am afraid that she may hurt herself. I must save her." Lendon replied and climbed quickly. He couldn't hold his feelings anymore. Several thoughts played in his mind while climbing up.
"It's dangerous. I can find the key. You can't risk your life," Curtis answered urgently.
Lendon said nothing but just kept climbing. After a few seconds, he landed at Kendra's balcony. As he looked inside through a window, nobody was there. Lendon smashed the window without delay and run into Kendra's room through it.
"Kendra! Kendra!" Lendon called worriedly. His sweat was flowing on his back and forehead.
Kendra woke up because of the noise she heard from outside. She opened her eyes and moved her body, but she forgot she was in the tub, so she almost drowned.
Kendra sat up immediately and murmured, "Oh my god. I got slept,"
Suddenly, someone opened the door of her bathroom.
Kendra looked at the door and was shocked. What happened?
Lendon was standing outside with his hand bleeding. He seemed nervous and looked pale.
"Lendon, what…"
"Kendra!"
Lendon shouted loudly with anger. His voice echoed in the castle.
Kendra covered her ears and felt scared. What happened?
Lendon walked to Kendra and pulled her up. He covered Kendra's body with a big towel and took her out. Before Kendra said anything, she was thrown to bed.
At that time, the door was opened, and many people rushed in. They were also in a panic, thinking that something bad happened to Kendra as they heard Lendon's roar.
"Get the fuck out!" Lendon shouted. He can't control his anger, yet he was relieved to find out that Kendra has been okay.
Everyone disappeared immediately. No one dared to ask what's happening.
Kendra felt horrible. Lendon seemed more terrifying than at full moon night when he's changing into a wolf. She held herself and squatted in a corner.
"What were you doing just now?" Lendon asked.
"What?" Kendra asked faintly.
"Say it!" Lendon shouted.
"I, I was taking a shower," Kendra answered nervously, dropping her head.
"Are you deaf? Did you hear me knocking on the door? I even called your name several times," Lendon glared at Kendra and questioned.
"No, I was too tired, so I fell asleep." Kendra shook her head. It had been a long day, and she felt she needed a break.
"Kendra, I want to strangle your neck to death." Lendon grabbed Kendra's shoulders and threatened. His heart was beating so fast, and Kendra could hear it.
"I, I am sorry." Kendra apologized. Though she didn't know what happened, she was terrified to see Lendon being so mad. She lowered her head again and cried.
Somehow, as Kendra cried, Lendon's anger suddenly disappeared. He took a deep breath to calm down. He doesn't want to scare her, but he can't control his emotion as he remembered his past how his own mother committed suicide when he's at a young age.
"Put your clothes on," Lendon ordered.
Kendra got up and dressed herself quickly. She doesn't want to make him furious again, afraid to see the result when he's so enraged.
Lendon sat on the sofa, but his right hand was still bleeding. Out of nervousness, he didn't felt the pain from his wounds.
Kendra could even smell the blood. She turned around and looked at Lendon, still feeling scared. However, when she saw Lendon's bleeding hand, Kendra felt bad. She sighed and found a medicine cabinet in her room. Then, she walked to Lendon nervously and wanted to help him clean his wounds.
"You've got wounds, let me help you treat it,"
"Go away," Lendon emphasizes his words.
"We need to clean the wounds now, it's bleeding," Kendra said faintly.
"I said go away!" Lendon kicked the tea table in front of him, and then again, his mood changed.
Kendra stepped back and looked at Lendon horribly. She knew it's hard to talk to him when he's so mad, but it was the first time for him to be so angry and looked pale. Kendra couldn't figure out why he was so panicked.
"I will ask Alexis to help you." Instead of forcing him, she tried to find another solution.
When Kendra turned around, she noticed the broken window on her balcony. She suddenly realized where Lendon got his wounds. So, he breaks into my window? That was why Lendon hurt his hand? She walked to the balcony and saw a ladder leaning against the wall. Lendon climbed up here?
"Did you climb through the ladder to come in?" She looked at him. Why didn't he open the door? There's a key to this room. She was drowned in her own thoughts as to why he came up with such a dangerous solution.
Lendon didn't answer her question.
Kendra sighed and walked out.
Seeing Kendra walking out of her room, Curtis walked to her and asked worriedly, "Miss Miller, Mr. Martin…."
"Tell Alexis to come here." She also looks worried.
"Okay," Curtis left without asking her.
Alexis arrived after 5 minutes. He gasped as he saw Lendon sitting on the sofa with hands bleeding. He dared not to ask a question.
"Lendon, let me treat your wounds,"
He got no response from him, yet he still treated his wounded hands.
Kendra stood outside her room and peeked inside. "Curtis, Lendon went into my room through the window?" She turned to Curtis, who stood next to her.
"Yes." Curtis nodded. His mind was thinking about Lendon. He knew that Lendon had panic attacks and might remember his painful past.
"Why didn't he just open the door?" Kendra can't believe what she heard, still asking.
"You locked it. Mr. Martin worried about you so much that he forgot to find the key." Curtis said and sighed, "I never saw him like this before. He was afraid that you might hurt yourself. He may be so dominant, but he cared about you,"
Kendra was shocked. Lendon worried about her?
"He knocked on your door for a while, and you didn't answer him, so he was worried," Curtis explained decisively.
"Oh my god." Kendra looked at Lendon and murmured. Was it true? No wonder he looked so pale when she saw him breaking into her room. He was worried about her. Weird, but she suddenly felt a little happy hearing about it.
Alexis left soon after dealing with Lendon's wound.
Lendon also walked out of her room, and he walked past Kendra. He ignored her, leaving directly without any words.
"Lendon!" Kendra gently called him.
Lendon still ignored her and didn't halt his pace.
Was Lendon angry at her? Kendra sighed and rubbed her forehead. Fine, it was her mistake. What should she do then? She didn't know that it would create another problem between them. Earlier at the party, Lendon went mad when she's gone for almost an hour. She was sulking when they arrived at the castle and went straight to her room, ignoring him even though he called her several times. She clearly heard him that time, but she wanted to leave immediately, not wanting to have another hateful confrontation with him.
The following day, when Kendra went downstairs, she happened to come across Lendon, who was sitting on the sofa in the living room.
"Good morning." Kendra smiled and greeted him.
However, Lendon ignored her again, rose from the sofa, and walked into the dining room.
Kendra felt awkward. Was Lendon still angry? She followed him to the dining room and sat opposite his chair. The deadly atmosphere fell inside the dining room. The maidservants who were standing by the side fell silent too. Lendon eats his breakfast with a cold expression.
