Chapter 29: His Sudden Change
She seemed lost in her thoughts until she decided to went back to the castle. When Kendra got back to the castle, it was late at night. The castle was so quiet. Kendra sadly walked to her room. She kept recalling Marga's words. Why exactly did they want her back? Was it because of her engagement? Did Michael say something about it? Kendra felt so annoyed, can't figure out what was the reason behind the sudden change of her so-called family.
"Lendon, don't do that."
Suddenly, Kendra heard a woman grumbling in a flirty manner. She stopped walking and saw a room with lights on. She walked to it curiously and saw what was happening inside through the door.
Lendon was holding an enchanting beauty and flirting with her. How could she bear to see this scene again? Kendra rubbed her forehead and left quietly. She didn't want to be noticed.
Lendon was kissing the woman in his arms, but his eyes were so cold. He couldn't put all his mind onto the beauty he's holding.
"Lendon." The woman pouted, softly caressed his handsome face.
However, Lendon was not interested in this woman at all. He looked at her, but he could only recall Kendra's face. Fuck! What was wrong with him?
The woman noticed that Lendon stopped kissing her, so she rubbed Lendon's face flirtatiously, trying to ignite his desire.
Lendon glanced at the woman and pushed her away suddenly. "Get out!" A cold tone came from him, it's like an iceberg that could freeze anything in an instant.
The woman fell down, she wore an ashen face, "Lendon!" She felt so aggrieved. Why did Lendon suddenly push her away? Did she look horrible to him?
"Get out! Don't make me repeat again." Lendon rubbed his head and yelled impatiently. His entire body was in no mood. Someone keeps bothering his mind, Kendra's image lying beneath him appeared repeatedly.
The woman got up and left immediately.
Lendon kicked the table in front of him and felt so upset. What happened to him? Why did he always think of Kendra when he held another woman? He was not a friar, but he had to control his desire for Kendra. It felt so bad! It felt so frustrating! He was deeply annoyed.
Curtis heard the noise and walked in. He sighed and walked to Lendon.
"My Lord, don't you like Miss Pope?" Sympathetically, Curtis asked. Before entering the room, she saw Miss Pope running in the hallway with tears.
Lendon frowned and glanced at Curtis. "Curtis, what happened to me? I am not interested in other women these days." He looked tired, and his face was sad. It happened before, and now it occurred again.
What was wrong? Curtis looked at Lendon and didn't know how to answer him. But, honestly, he also noticed Lendon's sudden changed. Alexis had blatantly mentioned it to him several times; however, he can't question this tyrant.
"Do you lose interest in all women?" Curtis asked carefully, "Or you are just interested in Miss Miller?"
Lendon looked to Curtis immediately. When he heard Kendra's name, his mind seemed to agree. Excitement awakened in his body.
Curtis lowered his head and kept silent.
Lendon got up and walked into the room anxiously. However, he couldn't calm down. Instead, he got more and more upset. Lendon walked to Curtis in anger and asked confusedly, "Am I sick? What do you think? Something's not right inside me, Curtis,"
Curtis felt so surprised. What happened? Why did Mr. Martin start doubting himself? "No, don't worry. Maybe…" Curtis said. However, he recalled Alexis's words and hesitated.
"What?" Lendon glared at Curtis, and his voice rang again. He wanted to hear Curtis's opinion.
"Maybe it's because of Miss Miller." Curtis paused, glanced at him, then hesitantly continued, "You have never been caring about a girl so much. Maybe you lose interest in other women because another girl lives in your heart."
According to Lendon's physical examination report, he was definitely healthy. It must be because of Kendra.
"You mean that I like Kendra?" Lendon raised his eyebrows, pacing anxiously in front of Curtis.
"Yes." A quick answer came from Curtis, hoping his lord will not get angry at him. There was no other explanation. Miss Miller's sudden appearance inside the castle changed everything, including Lendon's behavior.
"Bullshit!" Lendon roared and threw a vase onto the ground. Did he like Kendra? How was that possible? It was impossible. Kendra wasn't unique, though she was pretty and hot, she's far from those women he has seen before. So why did he like Kendra? Besides, there were so many beautiful women surrounding him. So why would he like such an ordinary girl?
"Curtis, why do you say that I like her?" He threw a sharp glance at Curtis, who's now afraid to talk to him. Knowing Lendon's bad temper, Curtis won't dare say other triggering words that could make him angrier.
Curtis was like a white rabbit, dropping his head, waiting to be devoured. Curtis knew Lendon was not willing to accept this kind of attraction towards Kendra right now. Maybe he didn't even notice his behavior changed.
"Maybe I am wrong. You know, I am old now." Instead of giving sugar-coated words, Curtis casually said that he's mistaken.
Lendon finally felt relieved. He couldn't accept that he's falling for that woman, "Ask Alexis to check your eyes."
"Yes." Curtis nodded quickly to end the conversation. He doesn't want to argue anymore.
"Did Kendra come back?" Lendon asked.
"Yes. She's in her room," Curtis responded, still in panic.
What? Why didn't she tell him? Lendon left the room unhappily. Curtis was relieved to see Lendon left. The dense atmosphere he was into a moment ago shook his body.
Kendra took a shower and went to bed. She chose a book and started reading it.
Kendra was so absorbed in reading that she didn't notice Lendon opened her door.
Lendon looked in and saw a warm yellow light on. Kendra was reading a book. Her skin was fair under the light. When she read something interesting, she would rub her cheeks cutely.
Leaning against the door, Lendon stared at Kendra and somehow felt Kendra was an art. His heart beat so quickly. Why did he have such kind feelings towards this woman? What did Kendra do to him?
"Kendra, why don't you tell me that you come back?" Lendon strode to her, his voice was a bit annoyed. He wanted to control his strange feeling, but looking at her right now, he's somewhat drowning in his intense desire.
Kendra was frightened by Lendon's sudden emergence. She closed her book and explained, "I passed by your room when I got back and saw a woman inside. So I didn't interrupt your happy moment,"
"Don't find excuses!" Lendon glared at Kendra, leaning towards her. At the same time, he was looking at Kendra's slightly open mouth. His strong desire gradually awakened.
Kendra sat up and frowned. "It's been late. What's up?" Her eyes fell on him.
"I can stay with you whenever I want. Don't forget that you are mine. Are you trying to kick me out?" Lendon growled.
What was wrong with him again? Kendra felt speechless and stared at Lendon without saying a word.
"Why don't you speak? Am I too kind to you?" Lendon raised his hand and held her chin.
What the hell? What did he mean? "Lendon, what do you want?" Kendra sighed and asked helplessly.
"I want to sleep with you." Lendon stared at Kendra, blurted out his perverted words. Then, he grabbed Kendra's shoulder suddenly. He was pushing her to the bed.
Kendra felt nervous, and in a quick motion, covered her face with her book. "You can't. Do you forget about what Alexis told you earlier?" She reminded him of the threat.
"I won't die," Lendon smirked.
Fine, was it necessary? Kendra pushed Lendon away and raised her palms on his chest, "Wait! Why do I have to sleep with you? You just slept with that woman."
Does he have a lot of energy to sleep with several women? Besides, Kendra knew herself well. That woman was way hotter than her. She pouted her lips when she thought how Lendon enjoyed that beauty earlier.
"Do I need a reason to sleep with you?" Lendon shouted in anger.
"But the contract…." Kendra said.
"I am Party A." Lendon interrupted Kendra and narrated proudly, "You should cooperate with me all the time. Do you forget?"
Looking at Lendon's eyes, Kendra felt horrible and shook her head. It seemed that she couldn't escape tonight.
Lendon lifted Kendra's chin again and leaned closer to her. When he was about to kiss Kendra, he suddenly stopped. He noticed her eyes were swollen and red, "Why are your eyes swollen? Who dared to hurt you again," His voice came like a peal of thunder, tearing the calm night.
